they talk about people running really profitable businesses because they were the only ones who read the manual. They even mentioned that apparently that is what Mark Cuban did to make his first few million with MicroSolutions - he helped people implement Oracle because they were too lazy / stupid to read the documentation.

There's probably a business idea in there somewhere for people who can read - find in demand software with complex documentation, and implement it for companies. Speaking from experience, companies pay 6 figures for someone else to set up open sourced software because they don't know how to implement it themselves.

This is really a great idea. Someone on this forum (several people) should 100% do this...

XYZ Niche Software developers or similar results are often fairly easy to rank/run ads for.

Would make a great business just getting people set up on that if you know what I'm referring to.

You should post this as an INE...

I am probably the first person to say this:

I want to work more, but I can't find things to do. I have messaged everyone who can be messaged and need to wait till Monday to get responses.

Any quick wisdom on dealing with this ? (This referring to not having stuff to do/knowing what to do)
What would someone whose business is a level above yours be doing? What about 10 levels?

If you can't do those things today, what can you start doing right now to get there?

Take a moment to appreciate your loved ones. Take a moment to appreciate that you're alive. There's always a lot you can worry about but the truth is that if you're alive and healthy (and bonus points if your loved ones are alive and healthy), life's good already.

So true @MTF. Every day I'm grateful to be alive. Five years ago, this week my girlfriend send me to the doctor to look at a birthmark on my back between my shoulders. Long story short, skin cancer, surgery in four places, and recovery. The doctor told me, if I was a year later I would've been gone. Then I wouldn't have lived to see 25. Live is precious. Take care of yourself and your loved ones around you.

Thanks for the post!

So true... I always feel like I'm not spending enough time with loved ones or doing enough. I'm sure plenty of you guys feel the same? Life is so short.

My parents and grandparents (lucky they are still alive). I call weekly and visit monthly.
My inner-circle I spent time with at least once a quarter, call monthly.
What are you doing at the moment? When do you feel as if you spend enough time with your loved ones?
What can you execute right now? :praise:

Nice. Generic cookies or some value skew in there?
Reminds me of a Gary Halbert story that I like.

He was teaching a class and asked everyone, okay we are all selling burgers, you can come up with 1 value skew each, and we will see who is the best.

The class start naming skews.

One guy said his will be bigger
One guy said his will taste better
Another said his will be fast
Another said his will be cheap
Another said his will be vegan

Gary said those are great but I think I will still win

I choose a hungry market.

No need to get too cute and creative, just pick a location where people want fresh cookies.

Anyone else run into twitter/linkedin "fad" people but IRL?

Just got my ear talked off by one of those AI bros today at a business event. A "process management specialist" and "business performance and results" coach who uses the "power of AI" to "supercharge local business and dominate the field". I know of business coaches but something in the pitch was too earnest and I dug in.
I asked him about what he does specifically... he says he uses ChatGPT to give businesses "paradigm shifts"... but could not elaborate- he ducked into how "AI experience" is a "total gamechanger".
Given his age and demeanor, I can easily imagine him as one of those crypto dads on twitter who swear that crypto will make jerome powell cry tears of blood and make klaus schwab spontaneously combust.
It also, oddly enough, reminds me of the one time I met a crypto bro who tried to tell me about how he used the "blockchain" to "supercharge local business and help the dominate the field" which, oddly enough, reminded me of the time I ran into into a social media guy who said he used... (ad nauseum).

I’m going to post an unpopular opinion about European “luxury” cars.

There’s nothing luxurious about visiting a dealership 4+ times a year.

There’s nothing luxurious about putting more expensive gas in your car.

There’s nothing luxurious about weird a$$ tire sizes.

There’s nothing luxurious about multiple ridiculously expensive batteries.

There’s nothing luxurious about chasing a problem with several “we can’t recreate the problem” technician reports.

There’s nothing luxurious about not trusting my supposedly nice car.

We choose my suburban for every road trip ever.

Fasted for 7 days, only drinking salted water for electrolytes. Down 7kg, most of it probably water weight and intestinal content, but still a nice kick-off to the diet. The first 2-3 days sucked, but then it got easy. Not hungry during the day, only a few times in the evening when reading/relaxing. Staying busy helps. Gonna have a nice steak today, then another 3-7 days of fasting

You got some tips to stop being late.
Just realized I got in the habit of being late and I hate it.

I thought you were German?

On a serious note, I stopped being late for stuff when I realized that I could control whether I was late or not by simply accounting for a margin of error. If I leave early and arrive early, no big deal I'll just fiddle with my phone. Works 99% of the time, and in the 1% of the time it doesn't work, they'd understand because it's probably affecting everyone. So if I gotta be at a place at 3 that's an hour drive from my house (calculated by Google and corroborated by experience), I set an alarm on my phone for 1 hour 45 minutes beforehand (shit shower shave), and leave an hour and 15 minutes beforehand. If it's really important, I'll leave 1h 30 minutes earlier because I'd rather be bored waiting than be embarrassed and late.

I just looked up my daily screen time. This is alarming. Almost 6 hours daily average.

It’s worse when you consider 16 waking hours a day.

That’s 38% of my day with my head in my phone.

If I live 50 more years, and this nonsense continues, that is 19 years looking at a F*cking phone screen.

Funny thing is I had the opposite thought white I was there. We literally had a chef come and prepare an awesome dinner for 30 people ($15pp). We had 2 masseuses that were at our pool giving massages ($12/hr/massage). This is the house we rented which was $700 a night.

Because Bali was so cheap, I deemed it my backup retirement plan. If I ever f9cked up so badly and was left with only $1-$2M I would retire in Bali like a king.

I wasn't going to say anything when you first posted this, but it is the rant thread and your recent posts here have my eyes rolling so hard I'm dizzy.

You really value human friendship so much that you pay a robot to be your bestie?

My besties are priceless, but I guess this explains your disdain for humans who travel at times you find problematic.

Huh. Interesting...
Istg, I just love when @BizyDad completely out of the blue exposes/critically questions someone:rofl:

First impressions matter...

Some cold emails I've received in the last 24 hours:

1) From a foreign publisher who wants to translate my book. The email was poorly structured, spelling errors, and was generally all over the place. Is that how you will translate my book? PASS.

2) From a public relations firm: Again, the email was terrible structured and not very value-centric. It had two different sized fonts and styles which clearly indicated a "mail merge" type of mass marketing operation. Is that how you will promote my work? PASS.

Landlord hate is growing worldwide, and while landlord hate is nothing new, I do wonder why people think things will change. So I had to ask:

Why is it that, every time wealth is redistributed, it all ends up in the hands of a few again?

The Soviet revolution ended with the government in control of all lands industrial, agricultural, and residential, which later ended up with oligarchs in control of bits and pieces of the industry.

The US took lands from the natives and gave it to whomever could reasonably take care of it. Now most of that land is in the hands of a few companies as those settlers & their descendants ended up selling off the land.

African countries decolonized, took their land back, and distributed it among the citizens (unfairly, mind you). Now, most of that land is in the hands of either Western companies or local oligarchs.

The answer is simple: wealth accumulation is a skill that needs to be worked at, and those who work at it end up accumulating the wealth.

Thing is, wealth accumulation works differently whether the system is entirely state-owned, colonial, capitalist, or any other way of distributing wealth. In the Soviet example, those who had prominent positions had the opportunity to become oligarchs. In capitalist countries, those who have money can buy up assets. In colonial times, those with military ability would simply conquer the land they wanted & drive the people off it (or enslave them).

Killing every landlord and having each person own their own home won’t solve the problem. Eventually, those who have the wherewithal to accumulate land (whether it’s through legal means, political means, capitalistic means, or through use of their own force) will get the lion’s share. It might takes years, it might take decades.

People who hope to just own their own home and live a hunky-dory life with no further desire will always be victims to those ambitious enough to use whatever means necessary to take what they want.

Interesting stories from 6-figure earners. I found the one about the guy who ditched NY for Texas particularly interesting -- he improved his life by simply moving.

My friend works in LA making $120k a year. His classmate who graduated from the same program makes the same amount of money as him, except he lives in Charlotte, NC.

The difference in quality of life is staggering. My friend lives in a house with 3 other dudes and rents a room. His classmate bought a 2000 sq ft house for himself.

@thechosen1

Your actions on display today are not those of strength, or leadership. This isn’t standing up for yourself. It’s self consciousness. You were triggered.

You say you’re a leader, you would likely be a dictator if you were one… You‘re only willing to hear what you want to hear. That trains people to only tell you what you want to hear. That makes your leadership based organization suck.

Your blind spots are cancer. They grow and then kill you.

View: https://youtu.be/CDmLI4zlBH0

Let me be clear, we all have flaws... Tons of them. The wisdom comes from knowing what you don’t know and being willing to change for the better. I don’t see a willingness here to even consider that you weren’t perfect.

Guys, being on a forum made by another entrepreneur isn’t the most important thing in your life.

Yeah it would be easier to stop coming here if I didn’t have an account, sorry!
Okay, but your not getting my point, sure it’s not the most important thing in your life, but

YOU might make that change for someone.

YOU can be the reason why someone changes THEIR lives

YOU can be the one who can quite frankly, accomplish anything, just with feedback.

YOU can choose what you do.

Hell, I want to keep getting updates about your product.

Just, give it a few days man, you might regret it.

You’ve clearly spent a ton of time on here, so it be worth even 15 minutes just to breath on it.

Sleep on it.

I hate it when people make emotional decisions.

I know me, a 13 year old boy who’s in yoda Pajamas as he types this might not have an impact on your decision.

But I just wanted to share that..

If your going to delete your account, good bye and best of luck.

Got a practical question for you Americans ! In a few weeks, I'm leaving for one of my dream trips to the US, mainly to the national parks of the West: Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite... How likely is it that I may pick up some signal on my phone at these locations? My business can mostly run without me, but I still need/want to be able to oversee things a bit. Tagging those who I think might be able to help @SteveO @biophase @Runum

You should be fine in the touristy locations outside the parks, aside from Death Valley.
