My name is Vlad, I am 22 years old, currently a student in my final year of university.

Let me start with a quick backstory. I feel very nervous writing all of this here cause I don't usually talk about my past.

My mother was murdered when I was 4 years old, the police never found the culprit, and my father became an alcoholic a few years after, since he couldn't stand the pain.
I have an older brother that was diagnosed with schizophrenia. my father works a shit job in a factory. he studied physics at university then he became a teacher, but he quit shortly after.
All my friends had normal families with decent income, and I always blamed life circumstances that put me in this situation. I was an extremely annoying guy and I always blamed others for everything, in my mind they were lucky and I wasn't
I went to the university to study physics and informatics, cause I loved them in high school, but never considered what career I have to follow afterwards.

My life changed when I realized that I am responsible for it. I stopped blaming the world and started doing things myself.
The career I then choose to pursue is to be a professional male model. some people actually recommended for me to try and I said it's worth a shot. I singed to an agency but I got no contracts. I felt extremely disappointed but I didn't want to give up. and that's when I started to actually involve in a process. I started eating healthy, so that the acne goes away, I started working out consistently, properly, I quit porn, which was the hardest battle I ever had in my life, i started hardcore mewing which is an exercise that improves your facial bone structure, and slowly I adopted better habits. I quit videogames, I quit movies and shows, I quit all fast food and sugar, I quit pointless youtube videos, basically I quit all instant gratification. I added meditation, journaling and reading, and focused on doing everything I do but better. and results came, I looked better than I ever did, I felt I actually have control over my life.

Here is a picture of my transformation in the last few years.
272062483_630822814811899_4639776523989766371_n.png

But then an existential crisis kicked in. all I am doing is grinding the whole day every day. wake up, write in the journal, meditate, read, workout,
cook, eat(I used to eat 6 self cooked meals each day). do stuff for university, a lot of hardcore mewing, very rarely hanging out with friends and that's it.
I was thinking what am I going to do when I actually have a Job? I am doing all of this and I am so tired everyday and I am not even working.

And then I started reading The Millionaire Fastlane . I haven't finished it yet but it opened my eyes. I was constantly grinding and pushing myself but I didn't knew for how long and for what exactly. and this book gave me an actual reason to fight for. Freedom. and I felt like I spent all of this years working on the wrong thing. I felt extremely miserable.

After a few weeks of constant mental breakdowns I had a vision. as an independent model I can choose if I accept a contract or not. I could actually
work as a model, and only do a small amount of work to have enough money to sustain myself, and use all of my free time working on something else, that could potentially lead me to financial freedom.

I always dreamed of making music. I also believe I have a natural talent in this, cause when I was in school, after the first 2 weeks of learning guitar I wrote my own guitar song. however I always came up with excuses regarding making actual songs cause I need money and bla bla. while reading this book, I realized I don't have any more time to wait. I can actually do professional electronic music with my laptop only, I just have to learn
how. I never thought of myself as an entrepreneur but I could actually apply the principles in this book for making my own music and posting it, using the N E C S T:
Need - almost everybody enjoys listening to music, especially if it's good music
Entry - this one is not that well checked, cause it's not hard to post music on youtube, soundcloud or so on, however, not many people can do actually good music and to actually be interested in what type of music does the public want. I had a friend that used to do electronic music, but his songs were garbage, he only cared about money, not about giving good music to people. and he never made it.
Control - Initially I was thinking of sending my songs to a record label but it would be better to post them on my own channel and promote them on my own, so I own the full rights for the songs
Scale - potential listeners from all around the globe
Time - each song is an asset on his own and it's available on the platform 24/7, which can generate income through ad revenue

So why am I writing this in here? I literally feel like there is no chance it's going to work. i already did my first song, and the people i have sent it love it, but i just feel like I have no chance. after everything i am doing, i still don't feel proud of myself. i never felt. i feel there is nothing more to
quit, nothing more to add. yet i don't feel i am doing enough to succeed, and i think it's probably cause of my friends and family that all have mediocre lives and goals, my father said i am stupid for eating healthy cause all food is the same, my aunt said muscle doesn't matter after i showed her my years of hard work, my friends always told me that i shouldn't try modeling, i should definitely go for a programming job, which
i would totally hate, 8 hours a day of programming for someone else a lifetime. nope. all of them indulge in social media and games, and i just felt different.
I always had the feeling that all of this won't work and i don't know if i need to push even harder, or is it the people around me that fill my head with their toxic perspective of life. i never told anyone that i want to actually earn a living by writing music

That's why i decided to write in here. i am sure that on this forum i can meet people that actually have goals and ambition. i always hide my goals from people that i meet cause i always feel discouraged. in the last few weeks i felt so burnt out and i don't even know if i am on the right path.
am I actually doing enough but it's ordinary people around me that make me feel not good enough? or should I push even harder?

Thank you so much for Reading all of this! I would appreciate a lot any replies, since I never had the chance to discuss this matter with open-minded people. I went to a therapist a few months ago and she literally told me to stop all of this cause it's impossible.

Hey Vladd,
I didn`t read everything, but most. From that I read I can say that you are a fighter and now in the right forum. Keep trying everything you possibly can, to move forward. You the type of guy that will make it. You just have to go on trying. Don`t let yourself stop you from your therapist. Do your thing.
Where can I find your music?

Hi, as a person who has experienced that stuck feeling. Now, imagine 10 years later, whether you try or not, you will be 32.

I listened to lot of mediocre people in the past, it leaded me to nowhere but the shit hole. Your life is always in your control. And I rather falling in a field I choose than living a shitty life.

If you are questioning and constant compare to other people. Try reading Sapient of Noah Harari. The understanding of human existence will help you understand that everyone is just the same.

Hope my answer helpful.

Hey @Vladd

So you feel completely burnt out?

You've been working hard and sacrificing things for a long time and nothing seems to get better. Relationships, work and life feels like one big drag.

Here's the thing: The life of someone else may look easy, but that's because they have their own struggles that we don't see. Life is about 50% hard work / attitude. And the other 50% luck. If something isn't working out as planned, try looking at things from a different perspective. If you think things are bad now, keep in mind there will come a time when the tables will turn. And it might be sooner than you can imagine!

What most people don't realize is that when life gets hard, it's no longer about working hard to achieve something, but just working hard because it is what you do. It is who you are. So when that lucky break comes, you'll be ready. Later people will only see that lucky break and say, look at Vlad, he got lucky! And that's my point, it takes the downs to get ready for the ups.

Good luck!

Wow, that's deep stuff man. It takes a lot of mental strength to open yourself up like this. Most people don't have the balls to dedicate that much time into a message like this. So kudos to you.

I'm exactly your age and I've been in business for about 1.5-2 years. I'm just starting to get my success after dozens of failures during these years so here's what I can tell you and what has helped me tremendously in the process:

1. Try to surround yourself with people who have achieved the success you want. Like you said, average people who live normal lives will never understand big dreams. They live in their own little cloudy worlds with their ignorant beliefs about what's right and what's wrong, and they will try to project their visions into you. Why? They want you to be just like them: Aka live an average life, live for the weekends, have a job that you hate for 40 years, drive an average car, date average chicks, earn just enough to get by, keeping up with the Jones and so forth. The world is made for average people. The elites of the world know this too.

Immerse yourself into the lives of successful individuals. Read books(autobiographies) of people who've done incredible things in life. You'll learn that they've failed a ton in the process, so be prepared for that. Get out, take some initiative and meet successful musicians in your town if that's possible. Or successful musicians in your country; DM them, email them and have some chit chat with them, or just ask them for advice. Trust me, very successful people love to share their tips because they want others to win. It's the guys who are in the middle(or the pretend to be rich guys) who are arrogant and will never take their time to help you. You're in a good spot on this forum, there are some very successful entrepreneurs here who share great advice for free. Just reading about successful people will inspire the shit out of you since you'll see it's possible. I believe Jay Z made his first hit when he was almost 30 years old. Today he's a billionaire.

This piece of advice helped me a lot. Here it is: "No one's gonna believe in you until you've done it". That's just facts. Or at least, very very few will. Don't expect support at the beginning. It's usually The people who are closest to you who are gonna doubt you the most so be prepared for that.

I recommending reading "The Magic Of Thinking Big" by David Schwartz. It's a very old book but it's fcking amazing. I know you're into music, so that book will definitely help you if you apply the principles that are in it.

Successful individuals will never tell you; that's impossible or "you're selfish" or "you shouldn't do this". Fck them. It's your life. It's always the people who've never achieved anything in life, the nobodys of the world that will make you feel like shit. How are you gonna be selfish when millions of kids are gonna look up to you when you make it big? Or when you buy your parents a brand new Mercedes Benz G-class after you're wealthy? HOW IS THAT SELFISH?

2. Be patient, and realize that it takes time to make it big. Don't fall for the get rich in 30 days scams. Are there people who become multi-millionaires after a year in business? Yes, that's the exception. That's like 1 or 2 out of 100 000 people. For most it's gonna take more than that before they start to see any success. People overestimate what they can do in 3 months and underestimate what they can do in 5-10 years.

3. Have big goals and break your goals down into actionable daily steps. I do something that's called the powerlist(have been using it for over 6 months now and it's amazing), you can check it out here:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnjmT2OahWc
. To sum it up, it's a fantastic daily program for maximum productivity. Remember we're trying to achieve results here, not just work hard for the sake of working hard. You take it one day at a time. People tend to ignore this, that's why they feel burnt out. They're overwhelmed by the work that's left, instead of breaking it down into simple daily tasks. By the way, the guy is amazing entrepreneur. He's great to listen to.

Based on what you wrote, you're probably overwhelmed by how much you have to do. But remember, success is a habit. It's all about the little things that you do on a daily basis that matters. Take it one day at a time.

99.8% of people think these "little" things don't matter but they are everything. Compounding your knowledge and your momentum are going to be critical here. Over time, you're gonna make huge leaps of progress because you're focused on every individual day.

That's it. Good luck fella!

A therapist's job is to shave off anything in your personality and mind that "sticks out". If you want to just not be homeless, a therapist will help. If you want to rise above the bare minimum, a therapist will be harmful.

The business of "music" is ENTIRELY dependent on your ability. It's the difference between Michael Jordan with a basketball and Steve Urkle with a basketball. One's worth a billion dollars and the other is a joke. The question to ask is "how good are you?" And remember that no one cares if YOU want it, you gotta give the people what they want.

I think you should pursue modeling in the meantime, explore if you'll make it as a musician, and keep your eyes open for other opportunities as well. Modeling is a cool career and you'll enjoy the unique experience in your early 20's.

If you want to be a successful musician you need to dedicate years to both the craft and marketing yourself. You will need to change your mindset to one of grinding.

As for modeling, interesting how you molded yourself into a model. Can you make a business training other wanna be models to be models.

Hey, thank you for your time, what makes me feel so burnt out it's more like the overthinking and the confusion in my head, cause i didn't knew if i was doing the right thing. everyone else around me wasn't doing what i was doing and it felt like i am pushing so hard for nothing. When i feel tired i have a lot of overthinking, do i rest or do i push through? cause usually if i just hold strong the feeling disappears, but sometimes i keep thinking why am doing this if it won't work, am i not supposed to enjoy the process? or should i just grind and stop complaining

Thank you for your reply. you are right, the moment i stepped out of that therapist room i knew i will never go in there again. i felt like she was attacking me when i was telling her my accomplishments. she said that altering your facial bone structure is impossible but she didn't knew i already did it. And yes, that was exactly my plan, pursue modeling for actually earning a living and keep doing music and do it the best i can and see where that takes me

If you want to be a successful musician you need to dedicate years to both the craft and marketing yourself. You will need to change your mindset to one of grinding.

As for modeling, interesting how you molded yourself into a model. Can you make a business training other wanna be models to be models.
Thank you for the reply! this is actually an amazing Idea i didn't thought about. i am sure there are a lot of people out there that at least want to look like a model, so that could have amazing potential. thank you so much for the advice!

Regarding music, i haven't posted anything yet, i just started like a few weeks ago. I made just one song and i might fine-tune it a little more before i post it
Hey man, looking forward to seeing your evolution. You are starting at music late for the usual standards, but if it sticks, that's okay.

I have to say I found a bit of red flag on your first post though: you say you always dreamt of making music, but you started recently. Not saying this is always bad, but us musicians (an artists in general) usually feel an unavoidable attraction to our craft. When we dream of playing an instrument, or making music, we just do it and don't let anything get in our way. I don't know whether there's been some issues in the past for you not to do this.

In case this helps: I toyed with the idea of composing music for ages, and even made a few small piano compositions when I was younger, but I was mainly a semi-professional piano player. I also loved transcribing and arranging video games music. After over a decade of not even playing regularly (very odd..), I picked the piano up again and I don't want to leave it behind again, as it's part of what I am and gives me purpose. A few months ago, I "committed" to refreshing my school years and compose some stuff. But end up going back more to performing than to composing, I'm afraid. This is an example of how it can be difficult to make it stick if the interest doesn't come strong naturally.

Anyway, I hope you try it out for a while and you find your calling and can also make it work financially, or even make it fastlane. Best of luck!

am i not supposed to enjoy the process?

The truth is (my own opinion) is that it take a long time before we start enjoying the process. When you start succeeding in your goals, you’ll start enjoying the process. From what I read, I think you need two things:
1. better friends
2. small wins to validate that you are in the right path

I have a friend who started a model training school during lockdown. She now has 15 students.

One feature about this business is that people "age out", and you get a constant new crop of people wanting to do it.

Thank you so much for taking your time to write me all of this. it makes me feel so much better when i see people like you taking their time to help me. i am going to watch the video and i will use the powerlist, hopefully it will help. i will also read the book you recommended, since it looks like it would be very helpful. again, thank you so much for taking your time to write me all of this, it was extremely helpful!
No problem man. There are more opportunities than ever to be successful. Just think about the people who were born in 1920. They would kill to get this opportunity that we have.

Another thing I might add, is that once you start taking action everyday, it will compound and you'll start building confidence in yourself because you know you can get things done. You'll be disciplined, which is what really matters in the long run.

i actually thought of it as a red flag myself honestly. when i was younger i used to play guitar, i was really good at, i was singing my own self written songs and had my own custom tuning, but i never thought of music as a main career, i always had that sidewalker mentality thinking that it's only based on luck. after i started to pursue modeling i dropped my passion for music, it was only reborn when i read the millionaire fastlane , especially when i read the words "inventor" and "impact millions".

Cool, man. BTW by any means I meant to discourage you. We just need to beware of red flags (if any) so we can take them out of our way :) I'm working on that too, lol.

With the discipline you described about yourself, I know you'll do very well in life. You are the 1% already. You may not yet have the money of the 1% but your mindset that got you to post here, it counts.

Thank you for the encouragement! I always had a problem with myself that i always thought i am not doing enough no matter how hard i tried. I think it's some self esteem problem from childhood i don't really know.

I’m sure some fancy doctors would have a Latin word for all of us. Who cares? What does it matter how it was in the past? Or what it’ll be like in the future? Focus on right now. On this moment.
Is what you are doing getting you closer or further away from your goals?
That’s the one question I ask myself. And it works.

Honestly that is a great question to ask yourself, thanks for the advice!
