I'm a 23 year old from Canada and I've been trying to achieve financial freedom for the last 2 years. I've been very inactive on this forum lately but I assure you that I haven't given up on my entrepreneurial journey. I've simply been focusing on making money.

For the past couple years I've been slowly spiraling into depression. Mostly because of the 9-5 rat race, but also because I couldn't find a way out of it. I tried many different fastlane vehicles like Amazon FBA, a 3D printing business, trading stocks, trading Bitcoin, and even real estate! I couldn't really make anything work, and lost a lot of money :(

Back in late November, I heard about e-commerce. "Dropshipping" to be more specific. I learned how it's low-risk and highly scalable. Thousands of people are making a killing from it. So I decided to give it a try. I told myself that I would stick to it and not give up, no matter what. For the following couple months I struggled extremely hard, and lost thousands! I had no idea what I was doing! But I stuck to my original plan of not giving up and I kept learning.

Around late January, I finally started to understand how the business works, how advertising works, sales psychology, etc. And today, I finally hit a HUGE personal goal! My store has done 4 figures this month. And it's only the 17th! Now $1200 may not seem like a huge number to a lot of you guys, but it's a quarter of what my 9-5 job pays me. And a large percentage of it was made at night while I was sleeping! How crazy is that? I'm fairly confident that within the next couple of weeks, I'll have enough data to start scaling my ads. My store will hit 5 figures.

I don't plan on sticking to dropshipping forever. I don't see it as a long term business model. I would like to gradually evolve my store into a well established brand in my niche. Over the coming months, this transition is what I'll be working towards.

The biggest lesson that I've learned over the last few months, and I know it sounds cliche, is to never give up - no matter how impossible your goal may seem (the second part is key). The goal of this thread is to motivate people that are struggling and haven't yet found success. All you have to do is pick your Fastlane vehicle and stay in it! Keep reminding yourself that the alternative (a 9-5) is exponentially worse than struggling for a few years and retiring before 30.

I'd be happy to answer any questions that you guys may have :)

That's great news, as I was reading it, I was going to say 2 years isn't enough to master something, I've been learning to trade for a year and I expect a few more years until i would get myself to a pro level.

I did years of internet marketing and created a large forum, but it took years of work to be successful, sounds like you have a solid plan, use it as a cash cow and get a proper brand that you control.

i also built a medium sized business with 450 staff, but its took 6 years to get to that figure.

You're absolutely right. In fact, the more I learn, the less I feel like I know. I only just started learning about e-commerce and I still have a long way to go!

UPDATE: I have hit my next goal, $1000 in a week

2 weeks ago I would've thought that this was impossible for me to do! And I'm still finding it hard to believe!

Keep at it people, eventually you WILL accomplish your goals!

Amazing work! You stuck to it and now you're seeing the fruits of your labor. I don't dropship but could you give advice on what you do for product search and what you would class as a good product? The advice out there seems very hazy

Hey man congrats on your sales! I am also from Canada and I always wonder if we can follow US business models with increased shipping costs and border regulations.

I was curious, what province are you working out of?

Props though! PM me if you need anyone to help with your marketing as well. I have some extra time between my studies in Alberta and I am trying to build up my portfolio!

I look for products that fit the following criteria:
- Items that I would buy
- Items that I can sell for 3X the cost
- Items that solve a problem
- Items that you can't find locally

If I find something ticks all those boxes then I test it.

I pretty much run my business as if it's based in the States. I barely have any Canadian customers.

I am currently in Alberta as well (Edmonton).

Hey that's awesome. Its always unfortunate though that we have to build products with the USA in mind just because Canada isn't big enough / too big geography wise.
