Hey everyone,

my name is Mike, I am 31 years and here's my story so far:

In 2010 I met my wife, which had an enormous impact on my life. Because of our relationship I learnt several financial things.

  • Stocks are not reserved for high level business owners and multi-millionaires, but I too can invest in (great) companies
  • No financial plan is the fastest way to never seeing the world and missing out on great experiences
  • Great ideas arn't worth anything, if not realized - like my 2008 vision of an online gym (the money goes to several others)
It still took about 5 years to complete my master degrees, because high education was a very important goal. Whilst this time I worked as a freelancer an coached swimming, running and weightlifting. Since I was a semi-professional swimmer, it was the nearest choice and I learnt several things about handling groups and motivation children and adults.

2015 meant implementing an account book on my earnings and costs. The years before my networth would steadily be around $1500 or almost broke. That was the first big step! At the same time I wanted to learn about the financial backgrounds of successful companies. So I studied their reports an invested money in those companies, which I thought were doing a great job.

2016 was the year I digged deep into the financial blogs with my wife. She wanted to start her own blog. After some more research we realised that there are alot of financial blogs and alot of relationship blogs, but - at least in Germany - no blog that contributes to both financial and relationship well-being.

In August 2016 we started our own blog, called Beziehungs-Investoren (relationship-investors). Contributing to both sides: Investing in your relationship and as a couple investing in assessts. We document our thoughts, projects and investments. Since than we built a community, got interviewed by a couple of big magazines, and were asked to speak, hold sessions or contribute to a discussion on several events.

Both of us like to read alot: Financial and business literature. 2017 we got to the point that finding new literature became rather difficult. What are the good reads? What contributes to my mindset? Which books helped others? As members of several facebook groups those questions arise frequently - sometimes on a daily basis. So we started another page called "Die besten Finanzbücher" (the best financebooks) in August 2017, which adressess these questions.

In September 2017 we launched our own podcast. We interview the authors, other bloggers or listeners about their (favourite) books and background information. Right now we struggle on promoting the page.

One of our guests promoted "The millionaire Fastlane " enthusiastically. He reads about 60 books per year and that was his top choice. Why? In Germany the title sounds like a Guru's book with nothing but empty promises on how to get rich fast and easy. Reading it is a pleasent suprise, since it offers unique and helpful content. So far I've read the book twice and will now dig into "Unscripted ".

Upcomming projects include launching our first ebook on "how to actively invest in ones relationship" and products, which bring couples closer togehter.

Now you know a tiny bit more. I hope to contribute with my experience and my struggles to this forum and learn alot from you all.

Merry Christmas from Down Under!

You should promote the topic of "Gütertrennung" on your blog as the most important financial concept in relationships in Germany .

Haha romance is very tight in Germany. A lot of people think that a prenup is not romantic and that talking about finances in a relationship just kills it.

So for those, Gütertrennung would indeed be the most important financial concept xD but they would need a prenub for that as well. So off it goes.

For short I am learning stuff on my own and unlearn the schooling. Longer story - In school I did not notice any body teaching about sales and sales techniques - I did not notice anything to be thought about money and and currency or handling money I did not learn to communicate either in school Later I discovered that a skill of talking is not the same as the skill of communication - well it helps if you can talk :) but communication is levels higher especially effective communication So i am learning it on my own Later I learned that nobody learns these skills in school it aint thought at all . I do art exhibitions of my artworks and paint some times like doing( here are a few of my artworks to get the idea what I do Juhan Rodrik ) it but not on commission , then I ran some transport business on my own and did a few odd jobs here there still do if I like doing it then I do I like acting so I take on gigs on this subject of acting When I see my self fitting for the roll I'll apply I do modelling gigs as well kind of in line with acting and I have interest a bit in boating ...
