You could take a big backpack, fill it full of bricks or stones and go for your walk, at a fast pace. A lot of people walk for one of their workouts so I think that'd be fair, even if you have a good fitness level. You need a solid backpack though.I've thought to just do a "walking lunch" to get the outside workout accomplished, but I have already mentioned that just going for walks, to me, doesn't feel like I'm doing the challenge properly. If I was hiking in the forest or up a hill, that'd be one thing. But walking the mean streets of Tempe AZ just doesn't seem appropriate for 75hard. I might have to give in to that, but I'm not ready to just yet.
Anyways, Day 2, attempt 4 has gone smoothly. Keep going ev'rybody.
This is perfectly acceptable as long as you are walking with a purpose. You're right, though. It's not meant to be a leisurely stroll.I've thought to just do a "walking lunch" to get the outside workout accomplished, but I have already mentioned that just going for walks, to me, doesn't feel like I'm doing the challenge properly.
Yeah I've seen Andy Frisella doing walks with a weight vest. If you can't do a hike or something I think it's a good idea. You could take a big backpack, fill it full of bricks or stones and go for your walk, at a fast pace. I'm not on the program now, I've failed a few months back after 15 days and I've been finding every excuse to not start again, but I'm doing it soon. Sometimes I used to carry the groceries home because we don't have cars anymore (they were old, they stopped working and we couldn't buy new ones). So I would have a backpack filled with food, and two heavy bags in each hand, just a week's worth of food for the family. I would take about 30mn to go home and then I'd finish with a run.
Try to identify which activities you have to do can be turned into workouts. Running back from work instead of using the car for example.
Hi all,
Just as a reminder to myself for the future. I'm starting 75hard any day now.
Anyone here on the complete #LiveHard program? I'm turning 40 next year and will finish the program before that day. Will be fcking awesome to see what this thing will have of an impact on my business.
Congratz to all those here who completed the 75 days already, and good luck to all the rest!
Debating it doing the full thing with all 3 phases after, we'll see. The cold shower thing is truly the only thing keeping me from fully doing it, I just don't like doing things that don't have a proven benefit, but eh, maybe.
Some that might make the showers easier is doing the Wim Hof breathing exercises. You can even add them in your workout.Debating it doing the full thing with all 3 phases after, we'll see. Screw those guys, how lame to tell someone trying to improve their life that they are not fun to be around without drinking or that you don't look any different. It's become an eye opener about who I should be spending my time with and who I shouldn't.Debating it doing the full thing with all 3 phases after, we'll see. Day 44, I'm exhausted. Everything in me wants a day off, but I'm not going to succumb to that little voice in my head that says I've had enough. I'm not going to listen to the detractors that tell me I don't look any different or tell me that I'm not fun to be around sober. I'm not going to lie, it sucks being told those things, but my give-a-damometer is spiking lower and lower each time. I have a mission, they can either get on board or find a new person to listen to their excuses.
Also to Bizydad, I've definitely incorporated some walks. Granted I live in a hilly area so they're challenging on their own and I'm still getting my heart rate up in the 150's doing it, but I wouldn't consider it a "fail" if you have to walk every now and then.

I'm starting March 1st. A google search for 75hard stuff got me to this thread. I got about 10 pages in before I even realized this was an entrepreneur forum. Luckily, I have 1 foot in the entrepreneur life and 1 in the 'job' life. Looks like I'll have some books to read for this that I've never heard of!
I listen to Andy's podcast. My 2019 word of the year was DISCIPLINE and I failed hard. Not wanting to use the same word twice, this year I picked IGNITE, hoping to light a fire under me. I shared Andy's podcast in general with a friend who I thought could use some motivation to figure out life. Two weeks later he says "I'm starting a 75hard". This guy does not workout. Ever. At all. For any reason. He eats out mostly, not great food. Drinks daily. Doesn't read. If he is doing this, I have ZERO excuses.
WORKOUTS: One a day will be a walk. The other will be weights, yoga, or another walk on an active rest day. My struggle here is getting out the door. Once I'm in the gym I'm great... but I have this issue where I refuse to work on myself because I say things like "I could workout, oooor I could work on my business." Bad mindset. I know. I'm working on it.
DIET: This will address my biggest struggles. -100g of protein a day. -5 servings of fruit & veg a day. -no processed foods with added sugar. -no quick snack foods like bags of chips.
I work in a brewery. I'm around beer all day. We are allowed to drink as much of it as we want. I did a dry January with a coworker and still gave in and drank 2 days out of the month. It's tough. I not only bartend, but run their social media, as well as pick all the guest beers for the rest of the taplist. This means sales reps bringing me samples, having to try anything new we put on, dealing with the distributors, etc.
Oddly enough, in that building, my bigger downfall is the bags of chips and cookies on the counter. I pop something open to snack on every single day. Water is also a struggle for me. I can wake up at 8am and realize at noon that I haven't had anything to drink yet. I've been trying to drink 100oz for the last few weeks and have not been doing great.
I need this lesson in mental discipline.

So I restarted the challenge and am on day 3 now.
I fell off the last few weeks pretty badly with my habits and discipline. Corona eventually got to me (I tried my best!) and I started slipping mentally, physically, and with my biz.
I made up a video about last time and I will update this thread as I go along this time.
I posted up a link on YT to back here too so hopefully get a few new people joining us.
Anyone up for restarting also?
I started again yesterday, as soon as I read the mailing of @Fox. I thought: yess!!!!!
This is just the right time for me too... It was already evening, but since my diet and drinking habits (probl. wrong word choice) are already in place, I could make up for the rest just in time before bed.
I was just wondering, for the pic, if it needs to be a full body shot. Is a head shot ok? Anyway, I'm presuming that a daily full recording of the outdoors workout (just an additional personal challenge) can count as a few bodyshots.
... Or am I already lazy at day one?
