Hey everyone! I haven't posted here in a while, but I feel the need to share my excitement, anxiety, and progress.

Over the past couple of years I've built a business that allows me to travel the world and basically do whatever I want, working only a few hours a week. Without going into exact numbers, I'm earning 6 figures - but it hasn't felt quite Fastlane yet.

My biggest point of indecision was whether to keep launching a lot of products that add up to a larger stream of revenue (easier risk management), or to work on one project that I am more passionate about - that also has a larger potential upside.

Well, needless to say I went with the latter.

The product is called EVO Gym. It's an all in one portable gym that allows almost any exercise to be performed at up to 300lbs. Here is a video that was just uploaded to YouTube if you want to check it out:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkLOtZWEWzw&t=45s

I've been working on this for over a year now, investing time, money, going back and forth with engineers, creating prototypes, etc.. the process was very lengthy. In addition, the many problems that I ran into with my business this year due to C0VlD-19 has been another obstacle. I believe I have come out of it far better than before, even with the current inventory management problems that I am facing.

This idea came about when I first started traveling. I had gotten into great shape, and I didn't want to lose all of the progress that I had made... so I looked into portable fitness options, and what I found wasn't very satisfying. They were either too awkward to travel with, didn't actually support or provide the weight advertised, and were not nearly as versatile as I would have liked in terms of exercise selection.

So, I spent a great deal of time making sure I ticked those boxes and then some.

I've been running my pre-launch campaign and all of the metrics seem to be good, so at this point I just have my fingers crossed.

It will start at $139 and you can check it out when it launches tomorrow morning at 10am EST at this link: ff.go2.fund

I want to thank this community for all of the support it has given me in the past. Although I haven't been active recently, everyone who has contributed here has impacted me in some way and undoubtedly changed my life for the better.

I'd also like to say that I'm grateful to even be able to try something like this. So many businesses have been ruined this past year.

If you're in a bad spot, keep your head up and stay optimistic. That optimism will drive you to see opportunity even in misfortune or failure. Look at my first posts on here if you don't believe it. My life has radically changed.

Well, I could share more, but honestly I'm nervous right now and am going to distract myself for a little while with some video games haha

Happy New year!

Great work! Really professional video with all the necessary elements.

I suppose the added resistance comes from adding more rubber bands? That's a nice after-sale opportunity, since you have your own proprietary "locking-system" for bands.

I've been running my pre-launch campaign and all of the metrics seem to be good, so at this point I just have my fingers crossed.

Can you elaborate on the metrics? I ran a test campaign and got leads for around 1 $. How does that sound to you?

Also where did you get that video made and what was the cost?

I completely understand if you don't want get too specific with these numbers.

Best of luck! The product seems solid.

Hey! It's resistance bands but there are notches that allow multiple to be added at different weights and different heights. This allows deadlifts, overhead presses, and whatever else you want to be performed with the same bands.

It depends on where you're at in Europe :)

Hey! So, $1 per lead is good depending on what scale you were at. With the scale that I was at we were shooting for $1.50-$2.50. It's really about the quality of the leads more than anything else. I can give you some more details later if you want to PM me.

For the video, I hired a local production agency in Atlanta, made the shot-list myself, and we went around shooting for two days. It was about $6k for the 2 days of shooting and the models. Photography was also done on the same days with the same models - so that worked out well.

In addition, I hired an editor I've worked with before from UpWork. I can also share his details if you'd like. I spent about $1k on editing. The 3D renders cost me about $1200.

All in all, the digital marketing assets cost me $8.2k (if you leave out some of the necessary F*** ups I had).

Some would say it's way too much. I look at it as an investment into something that I wanted done right. If all goes well, it will have a big ROI to have great digital assets.

I could have paid more and gotten better and I could have paid much less and potentially gotten the same results, but I'm happy with it :)

I've considered creating a niche version in the future with thicker aluminum on the base and slightly larger dimensions all around. It really depends on if enough people would want that and if it would be a good product for them.

Well done mate.

The video looks SUPER professional. If I had a little cash to spare - I'd give this shit a try.

The link to your kickstarter doesn't work - I have a Turkish IP. So maybe its because of that.

This has motivated me - I think I'll throw another £1500 into my project and give my product away for free to a professional TV presenter - he said he would make a video and sell it on livestream for me (he has worked as a sales presenter on shopping channels). Its a small fee consider what he might do for the brand.

LOVE IT! I've done a lot of resistance band work piecemeal in PT and with a set I bought years ago with a workout video. But that looks very slick and professional and I am definitely adding it to my want list. Best of luck with the kickstarter!

You're a boss, Mitch. Great job.

I read the "about" section where you got the idea because it was hard to workout in Thailand. I had the same problem. Had to pay for gyms or hope the Airbnb I was at had one. This would've been very useful (got pretty fat being there for two months lol).

The media and design for this thing is 100% professional.

Thanks @kpoa , @Johnny boy , and @Kid :D

Just hit the $15k after about 24 hours. Next up is to see how well these Facebook Ads perform. They need a few days to optimize, but I'm optimistic!

The $15k is really just a formality. I need about $45k to break even, but even without the kickstarter I was going to fund this myself. With COVID and the inventory problems that I've had I just figured this could be a good route in terms of timing.

Hopefully we can scale the ads and use some PR to hit at least $100,000. Fingers crossed!

To be honest, I didn't focus on a social media presence at all. I just went clean cut with Facebook ads for a pre-launch campaign. I'm not saying you should do that, because it certainly would have helped... but I basically started running the pre-launch as soon as I had the digital assets in hand and there wasn't that much time to focus on all fronts.

The approach really depends on how much money you are going to/willing to invest. We'll see how my Facebook ads perform once they optimize, but right now I wouldn't consider it a success yet. I need to hit $45k to break even after all.

The mindset is get enough in from pre-launch to get funded and get that social validation. Line up some PR and have some extra samples if you can (an area where I got screwed).

There are lots of 3rd party companies that can help out as well.

The one thing I do know about building a following on social media is that if your product is good and solves a clear problem and you have good digital assets, you should be able to develop some hype around it. Run ads for traffic, then keep refining and you should be able to get a decent amount of followers who are interested. The hardest thing about a kickstarter is that many people won't purchase a product unless it's already on the market.

That's when other companies with seasoned pixels and lists can really come handy.

just swap out the baseplate on your own? the people that are buying the product might like the option, a lot of them would be people that could do it themselves if you allow it as an option (save money instead of having to buy a whole new one, plus they get the justification in their mind to upgrade since they don't need to buy a whole new set)
