Dude, I consider myself pretty fit, but that is some freak level stuff seriously.

You can 100% make something of this.

I side with those saying break the record and verify it. Start a fitness youtube channel, and break records.

You could 100% get huge.

I have run this scenario in my head before as I could easily get a weighted pull up world record (I'm not far off and I havent trained specifically for it).

I was thinking of reaching out to gymshark and similar companies to wear some of their gear whilst I get the record but I wouldn't want to build on that so it would be a waste.

You could obviously keep going for records and build a brand/coaching/programs/courses etc but that doesn't interest me personally.

I'm going to just save it a promote something of my own when there is a good fit.

I’m not an expert on fitness or marketing but based on the lessons in MJ’s books and my own biz experience I’d say breaking a world record is just one little marketing feather in your cap. It can get you a little bit of attention. But it won’t build you a business. It’s a bit of a “me me me” goal.

If you started focusing on making content and videos and posts that help other people improve their planks, push-ups, lose fat, and stuff like that, you would be “giving the cat what it wants”

This separates hobby from business - selfish from service or selling

Edit: liked and subscribed btw

I liked the video and subscribed to your YouTube channel. Twice.

I also posted this to that other video that has 41M views:

Guys doing fitness stuff on YouTube can garner literally millions of views. If you can do that then guaranteed you can do other crazy physical stuff as well.

Go emulate some other successful videos and blow them out of the water. See what people watch. Can you speed some of the video up and put a flock on the background? Do it somewhere with a bit of foot traffic in the background so people can see the sped up footage with people moving around behind you?

Go to some place unexpected and randomly do muscleups and see people's reactions?

There are an absolute ton of ways you can use this to build up a brand. If that is you in the video you are clearly in the top 0.001% of the fitness potential and you have unlocked a lot of it.

Everyone can do something better than someone else. Most of the planet could probably train on planks or that pushup challenge for years and not be able to do it for that long. So you are clearly gifted with those genetics and have the drive to push it far. Go take advantage of them!

My brother does that challenge at his work with all his coworkers, and him and another guy always fight for the top spot... and they both do it like 3ish minutes if I recall. I have never tried it myself, but you have inspired me to give it a go. So yea, don't sit on this. This thread is already packed with GOLD ideas on how to build some momentum and take advantage of your skill.

I am sending my brother this video, and I guarantee you he will send it to all the guys he works with, and they will send it to the people they know. Keep making variations of it and make them interesting. People will watch it.

There is a 7-minute AthleanX ab video that has like 20,000,000+ views. Make a video of you doing it with a slight twist - you do it for 49 minutes or something like that. Easy to replicate that idea for tons of things out there.

I am so sorry for my last post. I had no idea that a video of performing one challenge could garner 41 million views... was just thinking of longevity. You definitely have what it takes if you want to go that route, just keep CENTS in mind because even the guys who hit 41 million views on one video are probably not building a CENTS business (that was kind of my point)

Thank you guys. I love the energy on the forum. I just woke up but I will get back to the individual replies. Lots of food for thought, the positivity and abundance mindset here always fires me up, to say the least.

I think this is the best advice you could be given.

Break the world record for planks, and then make content helping others improve their plank.
Break the world record for pullups, and then make content helping others improve their pull-up.
Break the world record for distance swam, and then make content helping others improve their distance swimming.

Gain credibility from accomplishing great things, and then help others get to where you've gotten.

And don't just focus on the event. People like rooting for people, especially people in motion. This thread is evidence of that.

Seriously impressive!

I watched some of the video and that song has been stuck in my head all morning. I bet you're hearing it in your dreams haha!

I could totally see this turning into a big YouTube channel for endurance training. Who better to get advice from than the world record holder!

On some other side of the internet, this guy is writing “Operation droopynipps update: it’s been over 7 months since I joined an entrepreneur forum. They still engage with me. They haven’t figured out everything I say is meant to troll and be stupid. I wonder how long this will work, it’s hilarious”.

Haven’t fooled me Mr droopy.
I see I have embarassed the F*ck out of myself. lol

Respect.

Droopynips -> @Shono GOLD character arc incoming
But I liked Sharknips!

The video is 43 minutes long and its him doing the sally up challenge. I see I might be able to do 1 times MAX.

Yesterday I decided I'll do 500 pushups. Ended up doing 210 pushups with each set having 40-30 pushups.

Mad respect @Shono. Instantly subbed. Curious what @Kak has to say about this

I always thought you were a sophisticated troll. But it looks like you've "just" got some divergent thinking/scatteredness going on and are much more intelligent than people give you credit for.

You sure got that Forest Gump energy about you though.

Awesome job with the push-up challenge!

Its not something I care too much to have it verified. It’s just a fun thing to push yourself. I will be more keen to see if I can break plank record, for that I will need official ratification. Thanks for your motivation amigo. Hopefully this garners Johnny Boys seal of approval, the sally up challenge is seriously a ball buster.

Cool, will be a great step experience towards your plank championship record documentation. Glad I can help, it has motivated me as well to see you taking action and also taking peoples input on the DN name change. You will always have that name elsewhere and DN will live and now you have a new personal brand name.

You don't need JBs approval but sure he would give you props on the athletic feat. As for if you are a troll it looks like not but maybe you are some sort higher level troll they enjoys stake raising so I'm like 82% convinced your legit.

I was surprised on how you looked and feel you could develop a legit YouTube channel as let's face it appearance matters in this cruel world. Set that verified record and it will blow up and there will be money to be made.

Pretty cool this community giving you support in this thread and on forum. DN name will still be legendary like Whizrock but the time for Shono to rise and make more personal, creative and business progress to be able to be able to live a much better life and flourish as an entrepreneur.

You've already earned the heavy_industry seal of approval, twice.

I won't go into marketing or business advice, all I will say is this:

You already have everything that you need to become wildly successful in life.

Develop a proper business strategy, start producing value, make the necessary adjustments. Once the system starts working and you see a positive trajectory, apply the same grit and determination to the business. You will destroy all competition and reach all of your goals.

Do you mind to elaborate on this? I am not fishing for praise or compliments or anything of the sort, in fact in life I always see a compliment as a dead end so constructive criticism or even outright criticisms are preferred.

In this case, I genuinely am curious, is grit so to speak a universally applicable attribute? How can fitness determination be applied to business? I have yet to hone down on any niche or specific avenue to pursue. As the saying goes without a goal you cannot score... I dont know my goal yet, so I have all this energy that I don't know where to direct.

Yes.

And it's often one of the hardest for anybody who tries to become an entrepreneur to develop.

I have yet to hone down on any niche or specific avenue to pursue. As the saying goes without a goal you cannot score... I dont know my goal yet, so I have all this energy that I don't know where to direct.

What is a problem that you can solve that people will pay you to solve?

Answer that, and direct your energy towards it.

I sincerely do not know. At least not with my current state of mind/confidence.

My ultimate dream is to become someone who can help others quit horrible addictions like video games/porn/alcohol because I suffered with those for a cumulative 20 year period, but I feel like that is something that has to come after I've already established myself, not the first thing I pursue, so I want to become successful first to show it can be done despite being set back so far. That is my goal in life as it stands.

Just by looking at you I can tell that you have an extraordinary grit.
You look like someone that has experienced a lot of adversity in life, fought, and conquered.

In this case, I genuinely am curious, is grit so to speak a universally applicable attribute? How can fitness determination be applied to business?
You don't have 2 separate determinations: one for business and one for fitness.
You only have 1, which applies to everything in life.

The reason why a lot of successful entrepreneurs are big on fitness is because physical training teaches you how to endure and work hard at your business.

Success is wisdom + grit + time.
You already have the grit and the time. And you are slowly building up the wisdom.

I really appreciate this, I think this is as about as tall a praise as someone can receive. Although I feel I have much to conquer from this point forward, and hopefully I can and laugh back at the state I am in right now.

Why do you have to wait?

Someone's struggling with a horrible addiction usually feels alone. I have a few friends that are overcoming addiction. You know what I do to help?

Once a week I ask them how they're doing.

I let them know they're not alone. Occasionally, as time allows, I'll try and pick up the phone and call. I'll ask if they're going to meetings. I'll invite them to my book club, or to a networking event, or just to go to the movies.

Thankfully, my friends are getting better all the time.

I recently found out that I've got one more friend who's going off the deep end. Just found out yesterday. Do you think I'm going to wait to reach out to him?

What if while I'm waiting, he gets worse? I care too much about the guy that let that happen...

I don't see why you have to wait to start helping anybody.

And in this case, maybe you don't do it for money. Maybe you just do it to help.

And in the helping, you learn. You grow.

You're able to help more people.

Can you share those experiences?

What do you think, you have to go get a PhD before you're allowed to help an addict?

My ultimate dream is to become someone who can help others quit horrible addictions like video games/porn/alcohol.

I've always thought that mental health is a very under served market.

Multiple ways you can monetize it. You can create a self improvement forum, or an app with clear steps on how to improve yourself with a built-in community. You can make money off sponsors and affiliate links. I.e. partner with some big gym chain and your members get a 10% sign up discount. You get a 10% kickback. etc...
