I'll just add:

Think of a buyer search term where they're searching with their credit card or phone in hand. Think of an info-seeker search term where they're searching with a cup of coffee in hand.

For buyers, send them to a page where they can buy.

For info-seekers, send them to a page where they can get information(possibly by signing up).

Sounds obvious right?

If you're just starting out with Google Ads then I suggest skewing towards high volume and low CPC search terms (Google will call them keywords in the Keyword Planner). This will help you learn faster because you'll get more visitors a day for a low budget like $5/day.

Take keyword planner estimated monthly search volumes with a grain of salt. They're estimates, and you likely won't show 100% of the time anyway.

Run the ads to get the data. I've a whole thread on that process somewhere.
What would we consider a low CPC with a daily budget of $5?

Ad Adjustments
I've added several new ad groups targeting additional search terms and switched to only targeting mobile users. Currently getting clicks at $0.33.

Microsoft Clarity
Thrive Themes gave me trouble this morning, so I just installed the Clarity plugin instead of adding code. Easy breezy.

Product Pages
I added the following sections to all product pages this morning:
  • Ways Xproduct Can Help You (in checklist format)
  • About Us (this is one paragraph)
  • FAQ (covers questions from the FAQ page)
  • Money-Back Guarantee (7-day guarantee)
Website Pages
I added a "Refund Policy" page and linked it in the footer menu. The page covers the 7-day guarantee.

Dealing with the Overwhelm Problem
Those who feel overwhelmed by all of the things they need to do should pay attention to the build process here. I started as simply as possible. Each day, I add a little more to the website. A little more to the ads. A little more to the email system.

It doesn't matter which area I focus on. Each day the system grows a little, looks more credible, gets closer to that first sale, and then the next, and the next...

Each day I test something different.

Great thread Lex.

Is there a reason for choosing the 7-day guarantee and not a longer one?

I've always assumed when you have a longer guarantee period customers tend to forget about it. With a short period, they may feel more pressure and decide to make a return.

That's just my assumption and I've nothing to back it up.

Don't really have a reason. Seven days felt like a good amount of days based on the product. It's enough time to experience the product, and short enough to avoid the regret people sometimes feel after they buy things.

I'm not worried about refunds. I don't expect anyone to ask for one. Even if someone does, it's not going to break the business. You'd have to have a really shit product to prompt enough refunds to cause damage.

Been following this thread for a while and wanted to say thanks @Lex DeVille, this thread is pure GOLD and helped me find new opportunities for growth.

Specifically, your and @Andy Black's comments on Adwords have sent me spiraling down the Google rabbit hole.

Have you used Google Shopping ads at all? Those seem to be more popular in my niche but I hardly see them discussed on the forum. I'll be testing some ASAP and reporting back with the results, but I'm curious to hear what everyone else's experience/strategy with them is in the meantime.

No, but I've only been at this for four months. I wasn't using eBay until a couple days ago. Just made my third sale there for $70 today, so I'm getting ready to test eBay ads.

No. I look at the keywords and get a feel for volumes and CPCs based on how they compare to other keywords. The real way of finding out is running campaigns.

The best part about Ebay PPC is it is a success fee, not a listing fee. So, you’re not paying for impressions just for Sales.

So had a question for @Lex DeVille

On the mobile design, was this something part of the editor/wordpress/theme you had?

For example, I signed up for something similar to unbounce and instapages and in that software, its a mobile first editor and layout. Meaning everything is 100% setup as mobile first out of the box and you just plug in logo, color changes, etc.

Was looking for something like that, but for Wordpress so I'm not using some random 3rd party vendor. Your choice of editor/theme got me thinking, maybe what you suggested can do the same for me but keep it all in Wordpress. In my past experience, most themes are desktop first.. so wanted to ask you about your experience.

Does what you use do this out of the box and you just edit parts and pieces as needed?

Or are you doing things to the theme to make it mobile friendly like hand editing CSS, JS, etc?

No sales yet, but I'm getting closer. Analytics shows the following for the newly launched site:
  • People are making it from Google Ads to the site
  • People are browsing around
  • People are adding items to their cart
  • People are reaching the checkout page
I also received my first email opt-in. I still don't have a lead magnet.

This morning, I added a 3,500 word blog post written by ChatGPT 4 (I'll update the text, and add images and links later).

Today, I'll test some lower price points and see if anything clicks.

I've adjusted ads to only target a U.S. market now.

That first sale is close.

Just gotta keep tinkering a little each day to find the right combination to move people to action.

Do you think google will punish your website for using chatgpt for blog posts?

Doubt it.

Being punished usually refers to SEO. I'm not building an SEO website, so it wouldn't matter.

Ads drive people to my website. Email keeps them coming back. Articles help the site look credible.

In six months when SEO might start to matter, it still won't matter because I'll have an email list in the thousands if not the tens of thousands, and every email will generate sales.

Or are you doing things to the theme to make it mobile friendly like hand editing CSS, JS, etc?
im using Themes like Neve or Customizr (free versionsfrom wordpress theme repertoire) because theys are highly optimized for both desktop and mobile display. then i am also using cache plugins, can recommend w3 total cache for this or litecache, they minify and optimize code and other things and reduce your loading time on mobile devices a lot so your mobile version loads faster and thats an very important factor for mobile

Sorry, didn't see your question earlier.

Thrive Themes comes optimized for mobile from the start and you can easily switch between desktop/tablet/mobile if you need to edit. I don't do anything to the CSS except a little bit for woocommerce if necessary.

I want the entire process as simple as possible.

Just read it but I don't fully get it.
We should create a listing with all the colors and different listings of the same item but with different colors ?
Depends on what you're selling, but yeah, that's one way to get enough listings. You'd want to change the title and product description accordingly.

So Google limited one of my ads. I had problems with this on my first site too. On my first site, they kept limiting me for sexual content (which the site does not have). With this ad, they're limiting me for the sale or promotion of alcohol (which I do not do at all). My product has nothing to do with alcohol, and isn't anywhere near that industry. Nothing on my website could possibly be misconstrued as alcohol... Sometimes Google just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I've appealed this and it should be good to go in an hour or two. My other ads are still running without limitations.

Just so you know I’ve started building another product and following this to the T to see what happens. I’ll either prove you wrong or make an income. Lol
Progress thread or it didn't happen. Lol. ;)
