I recently read this book: The ONE Thing - The surprisingly simple truth behind extraordinary results.
I know that the author sells real estate and owns a real estate company but I think that the principals that he lays out in the book apply to any business or any goal that you have.
Completely focus on ONE thing, every day, that will bring you closer to the goal that you choose. Time block 1 hour or 4 hours but do nothing else during that time but that ONE thing. It's important to focus on the right thing though. Don't just "take action" on something that doesn't matter. Take massive action on the one thing that will help you reach your goal. Here's some examples:
Writing for Kindle Books (pretty popular right now on the forum) - Every single day you have to write! Time block 2 hours and write your a$$ off for the 2 hours. The rest of the day, do the other things that you need to. But you have to write first. Then do the same thing the next day.
Real Estate Agent - Time block 2 hours (at least) and prospect for listings and listing appointments. And by prospecting I mean pick up the F*cking phone and calling people (Right @zend***phin )! Get as many dials in as you can in 2 hours. Then after that, take care of the other things going on with your business.
Selling Products on Amazon/E-Commerce - Time block 2 hours and (blank). The (blank) is the one thing that creates the most business for you. Posting on blogs, finding new vendors, writing copy for your listings, calling wholesale customers to sell your products, etc. Find out what generates the most business for you and do it!
Becoming a better shooter in basketball - Go to the gym every single day (no matter what) and shoot 500 jumpers under game conditions. If you did just that there is no way you wouldn't get better at shooting. If I would have done this in college maybe I could have played in the NBA. But I didn't and I never had a chance to play beyond college. I didn't do my ONE thing.
So if you can spare $15 and a day or two to read it I think it's a worthwhile book to check out.
****BONUS****And as a way to give back to this awesome community and forum, I'll buy this book for the first person that goes and buys it on Amazon. I'll PayPal you what you paid for it. Just send me proof. Then I want to see what your ONE thing is and how you'll use what's in the book to reach your goals. Good Luck!
