For me, things haven't quite gone as planned.

After the summit, I got my products up on Amazon reworked the copy a bunch of different times still need to do a little bit more work on the photos, but have gotten absolutely zero sales. My own website also hasn't taken off. I don't know if it's because of the late spring that's affecting my seasonal product, or people just aren't interested. I've had a lot of traffic, some add to carts, but not many sales.

On my other new venture, it's been slow too; at least my involvement has been slow. Another entrepreneur I'm working with is going full-steam ahead and things are progressing well. We've taken possession of a building in California and he has moved his production into it. His sales have outpaced capacity and he needs to expand the manufacturing for those products.

We've completed an application together for a cultivation and manufacturing license for this facility. We are expecting our application to be approved next month. My involvement is still quite small at this point however once we obtain the license I hope that will improve and I can have a bigger stake in this business.

I've also had some personal struggles. It's caused me to reflect on my priorities and how much I've been putting towards these businesses. I'm taking a bit of a step back to enjoy life more, and to spend more time with family.

I'm still in the 9-5 and made it a goal to get out of it by the end of 2018. With the one business floundering, it's going to be hard to do, but that's the goal. I just got back from a week in Las Vegas for a convention and I'm heading out on Sunday for another week in the UK. After that I have a personal vacation planned where I can hopefully regroup, reflect, and push forward.

Like most of you, I rode a huge post summit high, then hit a low.

Business
  • Largely wrapped up the big launch. Craziness is subsiding and back to more normalish hours
  • Equity stake in new SaaS venture
  • Larger stake in the next launch
  • Landed a project rescue gig
  • Freedom biz slowly growing. Lots of infrastructure and processes in place to continue scaling
Personal
  • Lifting and climbing a lot. Starting to break into select 5.11s on lead!
  • Dumped the bad relationship I was in. Again...
  • Booked a one way to Bali for some new experiences

I was inspired at the Summit to build more houses! So I've been trying to raise money like a mad man. If successful it will triple the size of my business within a year.

I was also inspired by @SteveO to improve my golf game. I'm playing 4 times my normal amount and loving it! I will get to a single digit handicap.

Finally, I was inspired by each attendee to help others on their path more. As always, reach out to me if you think I can help. Cheers!

My wife is again talking about taking her to Scottsdale and possibly moving to the area.

Here I was thinking I was going to be moving to S. Florida in the next 24 months, and now it just might end up being near/in the Scottsdale area.

Here's to a plane ticket in a few months to bring her to see the sights ( and the heat )!

Definitely recommended. Come in August. If she can handle that, she'll love it.

One of the benefits, if not THE BENEFIT of the summit is networking with like-minded individuals.
Fellow entrepreneurs that are in their own process of building and developing Fastlane businesses of their own.

I met up with one such individual that I immediately knew had the knowledge in an area that I lacked. Anytime I find someone like that, that I think I can work with, I immediately take notice. Someone, that has tools that can benefit the growth of my business yet can also benefit the growth in his.

Value building Value.

I needed someone that could help me take my websites and utilize Adwords and take them to the next level, as I personally don't have the time or inclination to do that.
That's when I met @Ungodly .

All I can say is that I am totally shocked at what he has done in less than 60 days on my websites.

I waited till April 30th to finally tally and see the results. One of my websites had QUADRUPLED revenue compared to the average sales in the past decade. And it doubled any month I have ever attained on that site.
The other hit a 30% increase last month. And it has been less than 60 days...

What has the Summit done for me?

Cha Ching! And a whole lot more.

Thanks @Ungodly I hope you don't mind the shoutout!

Thanks for the kind words Randall! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing just how much we can continue to grow things. It should be an adventure. :)

Hey Allen, I'd be happy to chat and see if it's a good fit.

Talk about Ungodly Value! :)

I try. ;)

Thanks @Andy Black - It's worth noting that I've learned a lot from your posts over the years. Thanks for your continuous contributions to the forum. You could even go as far as saying you helped make this all happen by proxy. :)

As I'm sure most of you could gather by now, I've been busy. Planned out days for 3 months running busy. But life is grand, burnout nowhere in sight and the future is looking bright. I'll be adding a progress thread here hopefully this week that can hopefully flesh out a little more about what it is I've been up to.

By my calendar, it has been 90 days since the 2018 Fastlane Summit and at the recommendation of @ZCP I wanted to provide an update on the things that have been happening since the Summit.

1. I have still not created the Notable or Gold Thread that @LightHouse challenged us on - However, I think about this on quite a regular basis and have content that I am going to put out that I have not seen on the forum before that I think will be groundbreaking for a lot of my fellow FLF members here.

2. Business aspirations started off well and suddenly came to a grinding halt - I partnered up with a marketer on FLF in March and brought in about $5000 in sales for our startup company. Unfortunately, I did not do a good enough job of vetting this person and found out that they spent the majority of the income earned on themselves... We had a money back guarantee in place which this person cannot uphold apparently, so we've gone our separate ways and I reached out to all the clients that were brought in to inform them of the situation. Lesson learned to get better at vetting people and/or not get into a partnership for the time being.

3. Constantly learning and growing - I've adapted the kaizen principle into my life daily and give myself constant reminders. It has been unreal for the progress that I have had in my personal life and in connecting with others. I have a morning routine that is very well put together and covers off breathing, stretching, posture correction, a short workout, gratitude and visualization exercises, journaling and then a celebration in the end. Although the business side of things is a bit slower, my personal life and marriage have never been stronger.

4. Friendships from FLF and a new group - The Summit was excellent for connecting with people from all over the world. I have continued to talk and hold others accountable from the Summit and have made a solid effort to keep in touch since the event. I've also joined a Men's Group which is focused on fatherhood, marriage and personal development that has been a great journey so far.

5. Better at commanding emotional states and outlook - My wife just returned back to work from maternity leave and it has been a huge adjustment in our household as we both work full-time jobs as shift workers. I had a few days where I was frustrated as it took away from my business focus at the time which was sales related. One of the things I have been working on for the last year has been to really take command of my emotional states and the recognition that we all have the ability to change our state in an instant. Overall my outlook on life is fantastic and I can't wait to see what happens over the next 90 days.

That is a short update from me.

Tell me more about what you've done in the last 90 days since the Summit?

I'm yet to get the casino's bill so I'm holding my breath and hoping to be in the black. We should be OK if our estimates and budgets are within 10% of expected.

@MJ DeMarco , What was final outcome? Did you make the 10%?

A small victory since the Summit - I stated in a previous thread that one of my goals post-Summit was to transition from my current employment as a Correctional Officer.

As of today, I'll now be moving into a sales/marketing position with a media company quite soon. It is focused on membership based services.

I can't think of a better position to apply all that I have absorbed into a full-time position which will be focused on crafting messages, building relationships and connecting customers with products that fit their current needs.

This has definitely changed the game for me - A lot of people who think that it would be a nearly impossible transition from an enforcement-based environment into business, it's time to quash those beliefs.

Since the Summit, @nitroheadz28 and I's "Entrepreneur House" has gained one more guy we met at the summit @powderhound100 . Shit is going better than ever for me business wise. Lots of great opportunities have popped up and I've grabbed them, stuff that simply doesn't happen where I used to live.

Met so many cool people there and reconnected with a few too.

Now is when it starts.

The slide.

giphy.gif

The meetup is over. The weekend is here. I had to settle back into my day job this week. All of the bullshit I hate was waiting for me when I got back.

And I made it to the weekend after.

I'm not in Scottsdale any more. I don't have Wadih or Steve to jump start my morning. I don't have a room of 100 other people that think like I do to walk into.

All I have is a Saturday, right back where I started from. And Sunday is the pre-cursor to Monday.

And the slide begins.

The next meetup is 51 weeks away. You have plenty of time. After all, you were gone last weekend. This weekend you just need to relax. Regroup. Maybe Sunday night you promise yourself you'll look at your notes from last weekend. Only Sunday night... well that's the closing ceremony for the Olympics.

Then the alarm rings, and it's Monday morning, and you're right back where you were.

And now it's April. And you stop by the forum, but you really don't have any updates for your progress thread. Remember your progress thread?

And now it's May. And June. No longer a slide. It's who you are again.

I was so excited that weekend. So happy to be in Scottsdale. So comfortable around people who "got" me. Who wanted the same things I did.

Wow those speakers were awesome, weren't they? Those people are amazing. I want to be one of them at some point.

But now it's July. I really need a vacation. I am so sick of this shit. Half the year is over already. My job sucks.

Next weekend I am really going to kick some shit in gear. I even bookmarked VistaPrint. I will come back to that. Got my Facebook name reserved.

The forum is a lot slower than it was in February. Not much going on there. I need a book or something to get me motivated. I am going to head over to Amazon and check out there entrepreneur books. No business books.

So F*cking sick of this. Tonight I am going to do some work. I am going to get this started.

Shit where did the night go? Oh well. I have committed to myself that this coming weekend, actually next weekend I am going to start kicking some a$$.

I have no idea how it's possible it is September already. F*cking job. F*cking life. F*cking no money. Meetup discussion already? How is that even possible?

I have no F*cking money. I want to buy a ticket anyway. I need to get out of here. I am NOT going to miss the next meetup. Speak? LOL. What would I speak about?

How much my job sucks? Maybe I can figure out something between now and then so at least I have something to talk about.

Merry Christmas, everyone. - Vigilante

and now it’s December... Merry Christmas indeed.

This whole thread is priceless. Thank you to @Bekit for mentioning it so I could read the whole thing and get excited/intimidated af about the 2020 Summit all over again.

I can’t wait to listen to everyone and take tons of notes. It’s gonna be awesome.

I'm getting excited about this. My first time meeting fellow Fastlaners (I don't know of any in Milwaukee). This is going to be so great. Looking forward to contributing where I can. I'm literally counting the days.
