To anyone 21 and under:
The hotel policies state: Must be 21 years or older to rent guestrooms, to access the gaming floor, concerts and bars.

If no one books rooms, I have to pay for all of them.

Really sucks not being able to book a room (20 y/o) and contribute.
Definitely don't want to potentially put you in a shit situation @MJ DeMarco

(I'd be willing to split a room with someone 21+ in the hotel, or 18+ in an AirBnB also.)
If you really want this, it won't matter if you're under 21 or not. You'll find a way to make it work.

I'd be willing to 'co-book' a room with someone >21.
It could be possible that the bookee may have to be 21, but not everyone in the room has to be.
Something to look into.

I've been procrastinating on booking a hotel because I'll probably still be living there however I may just book one to pitch in.
Wait, you're moving here too?

Monday.

There's a TON of Tony fans in the area who own big businesses so I'm doing a lot of speaking in the area. I'll be there until Feb-March or so promoting the next UPW in San Jose.

I'll use it as my home base but I'll be all over north and south cali, nevada, az, etc.

From the talking stick website:
Family Policy
Talking Stick Resort is suitable for children. Talking Stick Resort offers three pools, an on-property arcade, fantastic dining options and neighboring entertainment facilities.

Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian. Must be 21 years or older to rent guestrooms, to access the gaming floor, concerts and bars.

Extra Child & Crib Info
No charge for children up to 17 years of age.

So it sounds like you need someone over 21 to book the room but you can have occupants under 21. And if you’re under 18 you’re in free? That’s how I take it. Here’s a link to that page:

The hotel policies state: Must be 21 years or older to rent guestrooms, to access the gaming floor, concerts and bars. (Basically you good unless people decide to go to the bar to talk after the conf, and at that point you may hypothetically use a fake)

However, there's a couple AirBNBs nearby that aren't too expensive which is what I'm planning on doing if I snag a ticket. (I'd be willing to split a room with someone 21+ in the hotel, or 18+ in an AirBnB also.)

Yea I don't think the casino cares if you're 18 and walking about, or even passing through the casino floor. I think they start taking issue when you nuzzle up to a gambling table. They have a huge party pool out back and many locals go there, they aren't all 21.

Sometimes you wish you could go, and you don't, and other times you really can't go. If someone out there reading things they'd have to pull a few strings to go... just go.

While I am an extreme introvert, I am making it a goal to network with several of you. I've been able to come a long way without networking in my life. The only thing I haven't done is networking so Im looking at it as a goal to overcome that now.

Hopefully this event will help me in that regard.

Maybe some of you can force me to network? Hold me accountable.

Who wants to be my networking and accountability wingman for the weekend? lol

I struggle with the same thing (I was hesitant about buying the ticket because I never feel comfortable in a larger group of people, let alone 80 people), so count me in.

I have issues with this as well. I'm never the guy that strikes up a conversation with a complete stranger. It's something I'm hoping to get better at.

These events are so easily to socialize at, you guys shouldn't even worry.

Everyone is there to socialize, learn, meet new people, etc...

If you find yourself sitting against a wall watching everyone else talk, you're doing it wrong. Slap yourself and go jump into a conversation, introduce yourself, and the rest will take care of itself.

Or come find me and we'll work the room together.
I have zero problems jumping in and out of conversations in huge rooms full of people.

He hit it on the head. The only way to get more comfortable socializing/ice breaking is to do it. I have a feeling that in a crowd like this, it'll be almost effortless, which is the ideal place to develop that comfort. A few drinks never hurts either.

I'm fortunate to have always been a comfortable extrovert, but to those that aren't as much, just wear a smile, don't hide in a corner and you'll be just fine.

This won’t be a problem at all at this event. Everyone just talks to everyone. I don’t even know half the screen names of most people when talking and usually find out a few days later.

I remember going to Grant Cardone's 10xgrowthcon in Miami this year, first time flying by myself.

After the first day, I was going to go back to my hotel room to take a nap and explore the city by myself. Instead I stayed at the event and network and eventually met another guy doing ecommerce (everyone I met so far was real estate and sales). That guy became a close friend of mine that was going to be my business partner. I eventually sold him my business at the time and now I am looking to start another business.

My point is, you'll never know what'll happen.. just take a chance :)

If you think about it as "networking" or "working a room," it can seem daunting. But if you think at every networking opportunity "I am going to meet two interesting people and that's it," it gets a lot easier. By the end of the weekend, you will have met a ton of people.

This always works for me and I am an intj and extreme introvert.

Here are some scripts if you want them:

"Hi, I'm _____, is this your first time at the summit?"

"Hi, I'm ______, I do ______. What's your business?"

If it seems that everyone is already talking to someone and that everyone knows everyone else, just walk up and say hi to the dude standing against the wall pretending to be really busy on his phone. He is just checking ESPN and desperately wishing he wasn't so shy. You'll have a friend for life.

I second what everyone says about how easy it is to talk to people at this event. Everyone there is like you. We all get it. No one will tell you your idea is stupid and that you are insane for wanting to quit your job. The energy at this is amazing. Full immersion in a group of people who are on board with doing things how you want to do them, not how society tells you that you need to do them.

It is liberating. You are going to go through serious withdrawal when you go back to normal life with the soul sucking people who normally surround us.

I booked my flight so I'll arrive on Sunday morning 11 Feb to make sure I'll be in my best state & arrive on time. I rarely travel so if I do any sightseeing in Phoenix, it's just to adjust my biological clock:smile:. You probably don't believe it but I've been living in Sydney for over a year and yet I've never been to the Opera House. Cannot wait to meet everyone in person.
