I've been trying to earn money from the online space since 2018, when I was in high school.

But I have failed time and time again.

FB Ads
Print on Demand
Email Marketing
Blogging

... And a few other things.

I want this to be my last try.

I'm starting to learn copywriting from scratch and complete the 15 days challenge by @Lex DeVille

I'd appreciate some support and words of encouragement from the veteran members, since I still doubt if I can start making 10k/mo from copywriting within one year.

It just sounds impossible.
But I'll believe in you guys :)

Success will remain impossible until you create value for other people.

And you won't create anymore value via copywriting in one year than you would have with FB ads in the same amount of time.

The only difference is, one gives you an excuse to start from scratch and waste more time, while the other requires you to face your failures, fix them, and overcome them like a real entrepreneur.

Now that I look back at it.

I was just greedy.
I have never mastered any of those skills and only ever focused on outreach.. because that is what the gurus were advising at the time.

Btw @Lex DeVille Is the 15 day challenge still as relevant as it was years ago?

Nobody cares about your selfish goals.

The world is interested in one thing and one thing only: How much value do you deliver to the market?

But I have failed time and time again.
Yeah, no F*cking wonder.

How did you miss SMMA?

I'm starting to learn copywriting from scratch
@Kak - Help.

Yes.
If you plan on using the same failing strategy, it really is impossible.

I don't want to sound disheartening, but this line of thinking is the exact opposite of entrepreneurship.

Everything SCREAMS money chasing. And this is not exactly what we are doing here.

If this thread is not a joke, this is a perfect example showing why not everybody will or should become an entrepreneur - despite what the YouTube gurus will tell you.

Anyone can learn to write. For some reason, few people learn to be valuable to others. Maybe it's culture, parental upbringing, education, I don't know. What I do know is a whole lot of people believe they are worth $X amount of dollars, but can't understand why they aren't paid $X amount of dollars.

A couple years ago I hired a bookkeeper, but not for bookkeeping skills. I hired her because she made me believe I wouldn't have to do it anymore, and then she just handled it. Who knows if she's a great bookkeeper. All I know is I don't lose sleep over bookkeeping anymore.

I'm well aware of my short comings now.

I started out with that sort of mindset but I am pretty positive I've changed it for the better.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have been trying to earn even still.

I've chased money for 7 years, why can't I make money?

I've eaten McDonald's for 7 years, why can't I get healthy?

Imagine someone drowning on the beach.

And you’re running around doing your next 15 day beach fitness challenge.

Challenge done… now who can I help?

(Guy has long ago drowned)

To have a business go solve a problem.

Right now the market doesn’t even know you exist.

Engage, find problems, learn what you need to solve them. Get good. Scale it up.

This is one of the first threads ever posted on this forum. It was posted almost 17 years ago. Pretty good start if you ask me.

I knew the head copy writer at minvalley ,all he did was their stuff, could you reach out to companies like that ..or give them free copywriting for a period of time to show them you're talent and give them value.I ve been targeted myself like that by email.
Ask for what you want.People are amazing, they like to help.

I think Joe wicks ,the body coach ,is such a great example of giving value.
All his 15 min vids and receipes were free! That's how he got spotted by the big publishing house in IG.He did nt chase money just genuinely wants people to be happier by being healthier and to feed their children better. What a man!
Since reading MFL ,MJ has made me conscious of reviewing the value I m giving and I feel it's not enough. So I m working on that at the moment myself. We have to be heart driven I believe.Good luck with it all!

OK all the bashing aside...I think outreach is a key Fastlane skill that helps, no matter what venture you choose.

What have you tried for outreach so far? Cold email? The usual platforms like Upwork or Fiverr?

What is your offer (eg do you specialise in certain fields, sales copy mediums, for example)?

Funny thing is I recently was looking to hire one.

I track everything on Wave, but I realised I needed to work on taxes. I could do it myself, but I wanted more time on actual work rather than paper-thumbing.

OK. Just one more stranger opinion...stop. STOP! Now Assess. You must begin where you are at with what you have on hand. But, I'm betting, you don't know what you have, not only on hand, but stored inside your brain, which includes the FAILURES. Failure, and failing forward is a time tested, time honored way to make progress.

Shifting a mind from ME (getting) to GIVING/sharing takes some time and effort too. It goes a bit deeper than just following someone's fast start, or quick start...although copywriting can be a fastlane project, depending mainly on the copy WRITER. But the what isn't that important, many paths to Internet Marketing success. Any god will do.

Having a monetary goal can be a good thing, and it helps if you go to the end (say one year) and explain to yourself how that 10k a month comes to you? What do the transactions look like? How many and at what dollar amounts? What TIME is needed to fulfill the writing obligation? What are the necessary recurring marketing activities to bring in new clients? I'm sure all that is covered in the course.

But the what and how, be it freelancing copy, graphics, accounting...or eCom, Affiliate, Social Media or whatever it is going to be...has to be built on a foundation of knowing yourself, what you have to offer, or can add to your offer in the way of uniqueness, and it appears from your post, you don't yet know yourself or what you want or why you want it. So, I say again, STOP!

Do the coursework you need to do if already enrolled in something, but take time to ASSESS your skills, experiences, knowledge, and from there you can create a PLAN OF ACTION. The not very good acronym I offer is: APE-ACE; Assess, Plan, Execute-ADJUST-Continue, ENJOY, or for some ENDURE/EXIT. Good luck.

Consider saas, e-commerce, trade or real estate.

It is really about what you do rather than how you do.

All things you need some initital investment for. I don't have that unfortunately.
There is a reason 80/90 percent of the success stories here and elsewhere tend to be from those “popular fields”. Large persistent strong need with a certain degree of entry barrier (just high enough for the average dude to earning a margin, but not super high like defense science, robotics or Pharma research that are out of the reach of average dudes)

Trade related field you can start from working in an apprenticement.

Real estate can be simply learning to be a realtor.

Yes everything needs money but I don’t see how they need much more than T-shirt Printing.

The problem with T-shirts design and marketing agency are that you are not a “hard essential need” even if you are an above average designer or marketer you might be struggling to make a living.

Choosing the right field wins 50 percent of the battle at the start.

Reread what @Fox wrote.

Why don't you start seriously helping people instead of seriously learning?

Someone out there needs your help right now, with what you know right now or could learn while helping them.

Maybe this will help:
