There are countless studies explaining why gratitude works and how it impacts positively our well-being.

A couple of weeks ago I started with my girlfriend daily "say 5 things you're grateful for" practice and it's been helpful to slowly learn to focus more on the good aspects of life instead of the negative ones.

So, what are you grateful for today? Just pop in here whenever you want to share some grateful thoughts with others. I hope that this thread will become a source of consistent positivity.

No wonder you're grateful? Where is that? A view can make such a difference in how one feels.

My current view is marginal, at best. But you should have seen my view three years ago. It was as close to heaven as I could get here on earth!

I'm grateful me and family survived Covid, didn't get Covid, and are all healthy.

La Palma in the Canary Islands. At the same time, on the other side of the mountain there's a raging volcano and between, there's usually at least a rainbow or two (sun and rain at the same time are common here). Talk about a fitting life metaphor.

Wow! What a great place! Do you have the ham and Foie Gras that is common on the mainland Spain in supermarkets? Are the supermarkets about the same? How about prices?

Looking out over the water from inside my warm home, there's nowhere I have to be, no one telling me what to do, no people in my life that I can't stand, a business that pays me well each month that is growing each year, tons of time to pursue hobbies and keep life interesting, I've got peace of mind and a happy, traditional, submissive girlfriend alongside me. My problems aren't even problems. Every day is like Saturday.

I'm vegan so no idea. Supermarkets are the same. Prices are similar, too. Very easy to get high-quality local produce as the island has a perfect climate for agriculture (including various microclimates).

I’m currently grateful for getting a +63% return on my crypto investments in the past 2 weeks.

Is this realized return on crypto you sold?

I’m delighted you’re somewhere warm and feeling the positive glows.

Thank you. I'm delighted you're delighted.

Perfection. I absolutely love and am always incredibly grateful for having an empty calendar.

You are so fortunate! I would think there are some negatives to living there but overall I would think the environment is very condusive to healthy living and feeling great 365 days a year! Still, I think I would prefer living in the mainland on the southern coast.

Could this actually be a curse?

Nope, I've been "enjoying" some discomfort regularly lately (like for example demanding barefoot hiking) so it's a perfect way to unwind. Also, let's keep this thread positive :D

I’m thankful for olive wood burning in my fireplace and the fact that 54 degrees now feels freezing to me.
My husband who puts the wood on the fire and then snuggles me lots even when I’m whiny.
The Hobbit by Tolkien
My vocal chords which are getting a real work out while reading this book aloud.
All my books, actually.
My kids who are adorably bizarre and fun.
My weirdo friends of all types.
And all the ones that went before.. the ppl who pissed me off and loved me passionately and hurt me dreadfully and got hurt spectacularly. They helped. Every. Single. One.

And the Bible. :)

Looking at how Singapore is one of the hot places that entrepreneurs and business people wanting to move over to for various reasons, I am very grateful to be born there.

This means that once I hit the goals in wealth things will fall into place much more quickly for more goals in life.

I'm grateful that I am healthy, and have the self efficacy to pursue whatever I want in life. That's such a massive deal I can't help but smile as I write this.

I have all of my limbs still and they work fine.
I learned to love reading at a young age.
I found a great group of like-minded people to spend my time with and plan on building a community with someday.
I've stayed curious and willing to fail while learning new things.

Thank you for this awesome thread. I have been a little b**** the recent years due to some health issues and other stuff, and only now am I starting to realize how beautiful life is despite the problems that will always be there. Every morning for the past month I sit down and try to write a lot of free-flowing thoughts for 10 minutes on how good life actually is. This has really helped me. What am I grateful for today?

- I am grateful for the people in my life. My wife, my family and my friends. My social circle has become 10x smaller in the last years by choice (quality over quantity) and it has helped me filter out so much unnecessary noice that takes my focus away from more important things.

- Despite the health issues mentioned earlier, I have probably never been more healthier than now. Quite a paradox haha. When I look back at my lifestyle just 1 or 2 years ago, I am very grateful that my body just decided to say 'STOP' itself. Had I continued without any warning signs, it would not have turned out well in the long run. So basically you could say I am grateful for the health issues, because without them I would never have started the process of improving my health.

- I am grateful that the pandemic made it possible, and even favourable, to work remotely. This has had a vital positive effect on my mental and physical health.

Pre-pandemic I was commuting 4 hours a day (changing trains/busses 4 times each way). Before I had even arrived at work at 9 AM I had already had 2 coffees and 5-6 cigarettes. Arriving home for late dinner at 7-8 PM I was so tired and my best way to unwind was with a couple of beers and some wine on the balcony accompanied with more cigarettes. Then 5-6 hours of sleep and back on the grind again. Poor wife. Only now I realized that she lived with a unhealthy and unhappy zombie during that time.

Now I wake up at 7 AM. Before I turn on my computer for work at 9 AM I have already managed to meditate, visualize, write in my gratitude journal, read 10-20 pages in one of my books, go for a run, take a long cold shower, get ready for work and prepare my first green smoothie of the day. Now that's a morning I like compared to the 2 hour transport with 2 coffees and 6 cigarettes on top kind of morning.

- I am grateful that I finally was able to quit cigarettes and in November I reached 1 year as a non-smoker. My longest break has been for 9 months (around 10 years ago), but this time it just feels real. I quit with the right mindset, and I am 100 % positive that I will never touch that stuff again. If anyone needs some support or advice to quit those silly silent killers, then hit me up. Would be glad to help!

- I am grateful that I do not longer need those beers and that wine on the balcony in order to relax after a crazy day at work. I still love a good wine, but I drink so much less than before and I can just feel how it affects my mental and physical health in a great way.

- I am grateful that due to working remotely I can actually live wherever I want on this planet (almost). This means that we spent 2 months earlier this year in checking out our dream country. We simply feel in love during these 2 months and are now preparing our move there in February/March.

- I am grateful that my wife has been able to overcome severe anxiety and panic attacks in 2021. It's a topic that is not being discussed enough in the media, but the pandemic has really affected the mental health of especially young people. And I witnessed that from the first row. Fortunately, she was strong enough to overcome them, and for whomever experiencing mental difficulties I advice you to speak up about it, because our mental health is the most important thing we've got and IT CAN be cured (and in most cases without any form of pills and stuff)

- I am grateful that all of the elders in our families have steered clear of Covid so far, and that everyone close to us who have had it didn't suffer more than from a regular flu. Also just in general grateful that everyone around us seems to be somewhat healthy and in great shape, despite a pandemic going on for the past 2 years.

- Last but not least I am glad that I managed to spend most of the pandemic in one of the most open countries without any masks, restrictions and vaccine mandates. From here I only have around 10 kilometres to the border of the country where I grew up. These two countries used to be so much alike, but they are like two different worlds now. You can clearly see the difference on people's faces whether they spent 2 years in freedom or 2 years locked down.

Again, thank you for this thread. Writing this post is the best way I could possible start my morning. Now out for a run, and then a beautiful and productive day is waiting for me!

Super, super grateful that I finally passed my freediving AIDA 2 certification :):) :)

I struggled a lot with learning how to equalize properly but finally figured it out a week and a half ago. I've been honing it since then until I finally passed the remaining requirements today (a properly executed 16-meter dive and rescue at 10 meters).

It cost me a ton of work and frustration over many weeks while for many people it comes naturally almost instantly. While it would sure be nice if it were natural for me as well, the amount of work and dedication I put into it makes me WAY more grateful today for the accomplishment.

Today I’m grateful for the knowledge I am getting from reading dense reports on web3. Just a few months ago I thought I “got it” only to discover the rabbit hole so deep, I don’t got it at all.

And I know I’m early. My industry will be 5 years behind everyone else, I’m literally ground zero. Grateful to be learning this stuff. And super positive on the future of this tech.

Ditto. Glad I was able to set my preconceived notions aside and simply study it as a new promising technology.

There are a lot of things to be grateful for. For example: I'm grateful that we live in an era where we can be our best selves easily thanks to the Internet; I'm also grateful for every day because it is a new opportunity to improve and be our best selves.

24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and all the unexpected opportunities that come with it.

Had some great conversations today & this week. Made a new friend. Got three referrals for new clients out of the blue, and signed two new clients. Did a little pro bono consulting for a couple of people. It's been a while since I did that, and it felt great. Got a call from my business broker client who has a lead on a small SEO company for sale. It hasn't been listed yet, so I give first crack at it. I never thought of using acquisitions to expand, but this could work...

And I'll be grateful for the next response in this thread, because more people really should contribute to it. Thanks MTF.

I was thinking about bumping this thread yesterday so thank you for your contribution.

I don't have the greatest morning mentally today and I'm grateful it's my choice to decide if I want to work or take it easy today.
