Booked a Flight in December during Christmas to Cancun, going to head down around Merida and chill for about 10 days. Time to brush up on some Spanish. Looking forward to it.

Man you are gonna love it. I was just in Rosarito on the Baja side for a week and being in Mexican destroys all stress. Now in Ecuador for 11 weeks, I have an okay Spanish base and it's all coming back, starting group lessons Thursday and want to take my Spanish to the next level so can do business in a second language.

Today's breakfast in a fruit shop, 2 dollar fruit bowl with 7 fruits.

Gotta love how nature can destress your mind. I love the peace and quiet it brings to my mind.

Just spent a week at dad's home. He just bought a house with a lot of stuff to fix.

I helped him at gardening, mechanics, plumbing, tapestry removal, etc. Did as much as I could.

It was also the opportunity to go with him at his new job. After the divorce with mum, he went in the countryside as a bus driver. Was cool to see him chilling out every morning by driving people from villages to the small city nearby, then taking a coffee with colleagues.

I'm so glad to see him happy in his new life and slowly recovering from a difficult divorce. During that week, we had a lot of dad-son moments like we never did before. I think we both try to make up for the lost time.

In the meantime, I bought a new car.
As I'm resigning from my current job, I will leave them my company car soon.
I'm a big fan of BMW, so I went to my local car dealer and got a very good one (only 30000 kms) for only 22k€. It's not really a Lambo, but it's not too expensive (I would have spent the same amount for another car, I plan to keep it 10+ years at least).

I also see that as a small way to celebrate and to reward myself after all the work I have put into my business. It starts to rise, and with my upcoming departure for a better region, I'm proud to see that I can have a great impact on my future.

Life is good.

I have a BMW. I love the inline 6 cylinder motors. They are powerful.

I just bought a weekend fun car for cheap. Cash purchase screw these crazy interest rates!

That's a wonderful car! I would kill for a Mustang or a Dodge too.

Sadly, in the EU you can't enjoy this :

- Prices start at 60k€ for a new brand new one (yours is almost new with only 10k miles, I assume it's not too far from the initial price).

- Then, you have to pay taxes depending how much carbon it creates. Of course, anything which has more than 4 cylinders is now f***ing expensive. The taxes are capped at 60k€.

- So it means I have to pay at least 120k€ for a Mustang (+ registration fees, a few k€s). It is worth it? I assume you guys in the US will consider something else with this budget, like Porsche.

- This killed a lot of affordable sport cars one could enjoy, like the Supra, GR86, etc... Also some pickups or small trucks.

Not to mention that taxes amount increases every year and the limit of carbon without taxes decreases.

Anyway I'm glad with mine. It's "just" a 4 cylinder with 200hp, but it's more than enough on a daily basis. I could afford a way better one, but I just needed a decent one as I need my money invested into my business.

TL;DR: better to be in the US rather than in the EU if you are a car enthusiast.

Man that sucks. Every man should be able to drive a gas engine without feeling guilty.

Come down to San Antonio, Texas. We love big motors and petrol.

Had to say goodbye to my best boy, Klaus, a few weeks ago on my birthday (he's the guy in my profile picture). A few days later we went to Yosemite National Park. It has been a complicated month, sad and beautiful.

Took a two month trip to Europe this summer to escape the summer heat.

Did a lot hiking and fun outdoors in Norway, among other things.

Being able to do stuff like this with my family is why I went into business in the first place.

Americans make the coolest cars by far. Not the best, but definitely the coolest.

I'm still daydreaming about a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Even though they're rusty coffins on wheels.

The old corvettes and challengers are also awesome.

I guess it's only natural we decided to increase our chances of survival than stick with those designs. But damn, today's cars and just don't do it for me. Everything is round and dull. Castrated.

I got my first belt today, and I am so proud.
I have been practising Eskrima since March with a two-month summer break. Today, at the end of a 3 day summer practice camp, I successfully passed an exam, and I received the yellow belt. I'm now one step closer to not dying on the streets.

Yesterday, I also got back my IQ test, and it turns out I am in the top 5% of the Hungarians. Next year, I am gonna go prepared and do a 98% to get into Mensa. Now it's time to make the most out of all these brain capacity I got, and not be the guy saying, "I could have done this all because look I'm so smart."

And since I'm writing here, I have to mention how beautiful the High Tatras are. If y'all are nearby, take a trip there. Recently, I went there with friends and family, and it was astonishing. Here's a pic to understand the scale of things better, we are on our way back there.

Dude to be honest I thought you would be a lot older with your wisdom and experience. Great job living the dream with a full summer showing and enjoying the world with the family, you definitely hit the life jackpot, but yet it was all earned.

Agreed fully with this comment. And I think that is a beautiful thing for all of us "still on our way" to remember - this is not an age/length of time thing (though it increases the odds). We can both spin our wheels far longer than we need to and also catch up much quicker than most other vocations.

How much a pad like that go for a month in Spain?

You should double down on the mental work and relaxing, building yourself up if you want something big, while there are outliers there are few snap your fingers make millions, it's a grind (unless you have done before, than it's my bad).

Our surroundings have an insanely powerful effect on our minds and thought processes. The brain will react and adapt to whatever input it receives from the environment.

This is why I no longer subscribe to the idea of locking yourself in your office and working 24/7.

A brief 7-day vacation to a beautiful place every quarter can completely change your perspective on business and life. It can also serve as a reminder that hard work pays off.

Exactly!!!!

Inspiring environments = Inspiring thoughts!

I think it's sad when people advocate for an External Locus of Control. (Particularly on a forum like this).

Just sayin'...

EDIT: Locus of Control

EDIT2:
Here's a clearer definition: Locus of Control Theory In Psychology: Internal vs External

The key quote is this: "Locus of control is how much individuals perceive that they themselves have control over their own actions as opposed to events in life occurring instead because of external forces."

The key point is that people with High Internal Locus of Control attribute their results to their own actions, they don't give a toss about their environment. They get their results in spite of their environment, not because of it. Heavy is arguing for the opposite - an external locus of control.

For clarity, I'm not trying to change Heavy or anyone else, I am just trying to highlight for readers that there is another way - an alternative to the dogmatism that Heavy advocates, that's all.

External locus of control means a helpless victim who believes that their life is controlled by external factors that they have no control over.

What we are arguing here, is that life = genes + environment

You can't change your genes, but you CAN change your environment.
  • better friends
  • better partner
  • better sleep
  • better food
  • cleaner room
  • nicer vacations
  • more mentally-stimulating activities

We are the product of our environment - this is an undeniable fact.

But we are also the architects of our environment.

You choose your habits, and your habits will choose your destiny.

100%. It's funny that I'm usually way more excited to work when I'm traveling than when back home. A new environment fires me up and reminds me why more money can bring more joy in life. If you're stuck back home in your gray home office and your routine never changes, it's hard to be excited to make more money because it doesn't change your life in any way.

This is also why I usually prefer to travel to nice places over wilder, more adventurous destinations but with a poor/depressive/stagnant vibe where I can't imagine myself living in.

Of course, it's nice from time to time to remind yourself how good you have it or see something exotic. But overall I prefer to be inspired by nice, safe, clean, and modern places with smart, ambitious, worldly people.

You just described my entire mental state over the past couple weeks.

Bye bye Thailand and Koh Samui...

1000011376.webp

In the end I found a lot to love about Samui. Being alone for 2 months 9k miles away from home made me grow like nothing else. I can only reccomend doing something like that for anyone similar to me.
Something to note there is specifically the girls. If you look past those who want money (which is a lot of them tbf) they are all just nice. It feels that unlike in the west, women actually like and respect men over there. I talked to a few girls and hit it off with one in my last week for a night. Language barrier was so strong that I don't even know her name. But as my brother said, "You can't say something stupid if you can't say anything".

Here are some pictures from the trip that I really like.

Now I can finally clean windows again. Also I've got 2 days now to learn the set list of a fat concert I'll be playing at.

Traveling solo visiting a trade show in Germany and some factories in Europe afterwards.

I love exploring European cities and just soaking in the vibes. I’ve been a rock climber for 10 years, so one of my favorite things is to check out rock climbing gyms wherever I’m traveling, so did that last night.

In Cologne today. This church is so metal.

This past weekend I went to the vineyards with my local ferrari club chapter. It's probably one of the absolute best resources I've had for connecting and hanging out with local high caliber do'ers. We went on a back road cruise with around 45 other ferraris and drove around 130 miles. One of the nicest and most fun day's I've had with the club!
