I'm Bardán, I'm a filmmaker from and lives in the west-coast of Ireland. I'm 23.
I want to start my own company, a social media marketing and content agency where I manage the social media channels of businesses or local businesses in my area who want to grow on social media and get clients for their businesses using social media.
I went to a good university where I studied film, I've worked in the film industry for many years now and I've even created my own films which are regularly shown on television here in Ireland, I have professional level skills in shooting video, editing, planning etc. I have all of the filmmaking skills that I need. I also have all of the equipment (I think) I need also.
What I want to do is to build the social media accounts of my clients on sites such as Instagram and Facebook to essentially advertise their businesses organically without the need to run paid ads on those platforms. My job would be to create the content for these businesses and run their social media accounts by myself. I started last week and I already have my first client this week. Ideally I want to be working for multiple clients at once but not too many so I don't overload myself with too much work starting out, so I can figure out my baseline of how many clients I can have at one time and how much I have to work.
I just have a few questions for you guys that I cant find answers to myself.
1. How should I pitch myself to businesses
2. How much should I charge for my services
3. What am I not seeing, what are some potential pitfalls, obstacles or failures/disasters can I face
I've been researching this in great depth for about a year now, I have worked on social media content that has done well but nothing like this. I just wanted to ask you guys if you think this is a good idea, it wont make me a millionaire I know but I think I might be able to sustain myself for the next year doing this. I ultimately want to learn how to grow on social media organically and practically be an expert at it so I can apply what I know to my own businesses in the future.
