For those who are experienced with intermittent fasting, what do you recommend drinking until the time to eat has come?

I am currently drinking tea with lemon peels with ginger root and stevia leaves (not premade packets) and I'm not sure if this is going to harm me in the long term.

I feel a lot more enrgized when I don't eat as much and I don't do intense exercise like gym. I walk every day for about an hour with my German Shepherd and I will start jogging when my legs regain their strength.
I have been doing 8/16 hour fasting for three years now. Regarding water, it's fine to drink but like heavy said, sweet thing are to be avoided.

So leave the tea till its time to eat. Water tastes amazing anyways.

I've been listening to waay too much Brian Johnson so today I'm doing my fasting in the afternoon, eating all my calories early in the day. I have no idea what to drink on this situation but would also like advice.

Supposedly I will sleep much better, that is if hunger lets me sleep at all lol. The adaptation period is probably going to be hard. Hope it's worth it.

Looks like the impersonators on IG and FB have moved on to selling high priced coaching scams in MY NAME.

Facebook again, does nothing.

Just heard from someone who was ripped off.

Turns out this scam was perpetrated on Telegram and they used an AI generated message in my voice. Unbelievable.

All those stock market gains the FIRE people love raving about is a wash in terms of inflation and purchasing power.

This is WHY "saving $XXX a month" is a losing game.

Start a business and go for asymmetric income, the only way to defeat the money printer, is to print your own.
Ah my generation (Millennials) if we don't change.

Just a random thought after reading that other thread

Forum software sucking like how Mj always says has kind of ruined the internet

That and google search results

Everything is either on that woke hivemind censorship cesspit reddit or private discords and slack channels

I wonder if there was better forum software if people would use it instead of slack and discord and reddit

I think the scariest creature to live alongside modern humans was the 2,000lb Short-Faced Bear. Extinct 12,800 years ago. It is believed they blocked human migration into the Americas until extinct.

I have found a lot of gold and networking (even physical ones) from Telegram chats.

You can also organise the Telegram chat into several sub-chats too, similar to sub-forums.

But I dunno if Telegram can handle our Progress Threads though...there'll be so much data and some might not trust the founder of Telegram himself.

I didn’t realise you could do that on telegram too, but it’s exactly my point, all these conversations are now no longer on forums but hidden in slack channels telegrams and discords

I find Slack, Discord, and Telegram chats hard to keep up with and end up not bothering. There's too many conversations going on in one thread. They're also "messagy" in nature with short notes and synchronous conversations. Good luck trying to catch up a day later.

I'm also not a fan of nested comments like those in Facebook groups and Reddit. They're hard to keep up with as you don't know what side conversations are happening.

I like the organised threads in forums, and the non-nested comments. Being able to quote-reply really helps with that.

I've been invited into a few Circle communities but never stayed.

I've never tried Skool, but that's more because I don't want to be in any more communities.

Actually I am in one Circle community myself, following Tom Meitner's copywriting circle.

It's one of the few platforms so far where I see both conversations, online events hosting and courses bundled together without turning things into a tangled mess.

I'm satisfied with the Circle experience so far.

But I prefer 'old wine'...especially this Forum.

Utah has the Wasatch front range. The peaks often disappear into the clouds at elevations around 9-12k feet. When I was in the Army, we jumped out of C-130s at 2k to 5k feet. Tandem/freefall skydives are 10k to 15k feet.

When I first saw the Wasatch mountains, I tried to imagine Mount Everest behind them and how much taller it would be. I don't know how accurate this image is, but the comparison looks reasonably close. Pretty crazy.

Scammers are using deep fake videos to scam victims these days using the latest AI technology.

If you are a video content creator there is no choice that your facial image and voice can be downloaded by anyone.

On the other hand it creates business opportunities for inventors to create scam prevention technologies.

In Tucker Carlson's recent interview with the founder of Telegram (Pavel Durov), Pavel mentioned how FBI agents wanted to know what open-source libraries he was using in his software, and encouraged him to use certain libraries. Why would they want him to use certain software libraries in his encrypted messaging app? It seems obvious US intelligence have backdoors in these open-source libraries. He didn't say which libraries they wanted him to use.

None of those technologies are anonymous or secure. Those agencies already used tax payer dollars to pay experts and specialists to defeat it. Then they benefit from a wealth of information when the public thinks they have an edge against the system or think the government is losing the fight on privacy. Telegram is just a piece of software.

The courts have already ruled that they must help the government retrieve the info if it was involved in some crime. The founder most likely already helped the government. Like WhatsApp.

The system is now just organized crime with some kind of moral veil.

This is why I’m not excited about A.I. It will just be weaponized by the government against its citizens. Most AI is owned by Corporations and Academia.

You’re better off sending a message with a carrier pigeon if privacy is your goal.

Avoid anything sweet (even if it has no sugar), as this has the potential to trigger an insulin response from the body.

This includes chewing gum or using very sweet toothpaste or mouthwash.

If insulin gets released prematurely and there is no actual glucose to dispose of in the system, ketone production and gluconeogenesis are halted, which means that you will be running on 0 fuel - translation: lethargy, brain fog, dizziness, etc.

When fasting, I only drink water (with or without electrolytes) or cold brewed black coffee with nothing added to it.
Do you also avoid carb sources like oats? When I eat those in the morning with banana and bitter cocoa powder I don't get a crash after, but if I eat white bread, pasta and potatoes I get floored.

Do you mean Bryan Johnson? If so, I think this guy goes way overboard with his routine.

There were times when I thought there was a black hole in my stomach, but I was too tired to get out of bed.

I think it's also important to get busy and have little idle time during your day, otherwise you will find yourself visiting the fridge for no reason way too often.

I don't know the context of question or the answer, and I'm not going to watch any of that fear porn bullshit, but there could be legitimate reasons for them to ask. Encryption is not a thing that you just write code for, implementation of encryption algorithm is really really really important. That's why libraries are used for that specific purpose, and we don't implement them manually every time.

They could be asking to know if they can use it internally at FBI. They could be asking because they can't crack it easily, so they start with these simple questions to soften them up for implementing some kind of backdoor later. Social engineering is a more common vector for attack, which could suggest that encryption is not cheaply crackable. Maybe they encouraged them to use certain libraries that were tested by FBI internally that they are implemented correctly. Maybe they just asked to see if they are using version of library later than 1.0.11 or something like that. I don't know about USA specifically, but in my country when you do a government contract, no matter how stupid it is, if it's in the specification, it has to be followed. In the end, FBI has to protect their own data, so they also use some kind of encryption. Why would Telegram guy even share that to anyone? Is he playing a marketing game?

I'm not saying you are wrong, because I don't know, but I don't think it's simple as what you wrote. All encryption is crack-able, real question is how cheap is it, and I don't think it's that cheap, otherwise they wouldn't even ask. If everything was cracked cheaply, well, we would be living in a very different world.

And there are countless other examples, xz recently, and so on and on. Which are all true. But that doesn't make the FBI evil, it's simply their function. Of course they try it. Let's say it like this, this guy felt comfortable publicly talking about how FBI approached him. That's not nothing. I wonder would he ever share that information about a government agency from some other country. I'm writing this because I think it's important to not get carried away with "evil", "moral" or other labels and try to be a devils advocate. It's simply the reality of the situation that these things are happening, but you still have to ask yourself these questions. After that it becomes a question of threat modelling and risk management. I personally wouldn't worry about FBI at all, I think a way worse aspect of security is all this fear porn nonsense that we are all subjected to online. And I consider all the modern American "journalists" that The Algorithm props up a part of that problem. I write this more generally for everyone here, not at you specifically.

I personally think you're blowing smoke out your a$$ but I would love for you to prove me wrong.

Also, filing a patent before even having a working prototype or any interest whatsoever is idiotic.

All you can file (without risking thousands in legal fees and time to file a real patent) is a provisional, which saves your place in line, and allows you to have "patent pending" on your product.

It doesn't protect you whatsoever.
It actually cost me 120€. We don't have a provisional patents, but we don't need to since they are cheaper. I have the priority anyway.

And if I remember correctly you’re going to launch this revolutionary kitchen appliance with money you saved driving for Uber Eats for a few months right?

Nothing about this says realistic to me.
2k$ for prototype, including sales, warranties, rent BTW.
Machine itself is ~1000-1100 now.

I’m also reading The Road Less Stupid at the moment, only 2 chapters in and it’s amazing so far
This one is one of the best there is. Love this book.

I've made many expensive avoidable stupid mistakes that could have been fixed by thinking about the decisions more before making them impulsively.

Bryan does admit that a lot of them are just research for the sake of science and publicity stunts/awareness.

You can achieve 70 percent of the results without all the million dollar equipment he is using, by just eating well, sleeping well and exercising well and keep stress controlled.

The purpose is to draw more people into the same research, throwing in money and effort to create greater acceleration in relevant technologies.

It’s the same reason why Elon Musk shared the electric car patents earlier for free. More business producing electric cars means more economics of scale and users acceptance.

How does the patent application process work?

You can apply without a prototype?
He declined it the first time stating that "it does not have enough detail; the invention was more conceptiual than realised."

I've made a revision of it, being sure to include every single damn detail of my machine: each module was described, connecting power supply to modules was described, claims revisited, 60% pictures were remade so much that he had 0 question left.

And fair enough, he has said that this is on the level above of what he usually gets. He commended that pictures - on which there were more than 50 parts described - were very well done.

HAHAHAHAHA.

Also, to bootstrap for this startup I've also developed a miltech for Ukraine (I'm ukrainian) that allows our FPV drones to kill enemy in almost 15m range, showering them with steel fragments ~2x more effectively than our current munition does. Which means faster projectiles, larger cover area, and ultimately more death for 'em...

But that's work in progress...

In America, the Government gets it's power by consent of the people. When the Government uses this power for any other purpose than that for which it was given, that is not simply "things are happening". When the Federal government does this, the States are supposed to invoke the 10th Amendment of Nullification, and simply ignore them. When the Federal government uses their power to oppress the people who gave them power, that is a betrayal, and it fits my definition of evil.

I had high hopes for Fallout the TV show and my hopes were not only met but surpassed.

What a F*cking MASTERPIECE.

I don't binge watch TV shows but I watched this over 3 days like a mindless junkie and absolutely loved it.

I'm so glad to see such huge, ambitious projects being turned into no-compromise, no watered-down phenomenal TV shows.

I used to play Fallout 2 for months when I was a kid. It was a magical time of my childhood and it feels so nice to see this world being adapted into a TV series. I bet there are a lot of people like me who are feeling very nostalgic now.

I still remember how I spent entire days at my friend's place playing it. He had a much better computer and all for himself, while I had a cheap one used mostly by my parents. There was this one day when he called me (or rather, the landline telephone) and told me he discovered something cool in the game and I had to come right away check it out (and it was indeed cool as F*ck). It's funny how I remember such random things.

There's also a great business lesson behind this TV show, as I learned from Wikipedia:

Bethesda had been approached multiple times about a television adaptation of the Fallout video games since the developer released Fallout 3 in 2008, according to Bethesda's Todd Howard, though he felt none of the suggestions met the vision of the Fallout series.[5] Bethesda's marketing executive Pete Hines had also cautioned the company in 2015 on the potential impact of a poor adaptation of their video games, saying "There's way more things that can go wrong than can go right with this" since the adaptation's director may override the vision of the series.[6] Hines pointed to the example of the 2005 Doom film as an example of a bad adaptation.[6] The situation changed when Jonathan Nolan approached Bethesda with his idea of a Fallout television series, having been an avid player of the game series. Howard found that Nolan had a clear vision for the adaptation, and agreed this approach was a good way to bring the game series to the television screen.[5]

They didn't want to compromise the quality so they waited for freaking 12 years before they found the right fit (or rather, the right fit found them).
