Due to a clerical error, a man gets to choose whether he spends eternity in heaven or hell.

He asks if he can take a quick peek at both before he chooses.

They show him the canteen in hell first.

It's a massive banquet table with fabulous food and beautiful ornate chairs. The smells make his mouth water and stomach grumble.

He wonders if this is a mistake.

The dinner bell sounds and people shuffle in silently. They look gaunt and miserable, with a tortured look in their eyes.

They seat themselves and start to eat. It's then he notices the spoons are 2 feet long.

The delicious food falls off the spoons as they try in vain to feed themselves.

They show him the canteen in heaven next.

It's a massive banquet table with fabulous food and beautiful ornate chairs. The smells make his mouth water and stomach grumble.

It looks exactly the same as the canteen in hell.

He looks closely and all the spoons are 2 feet long.

He wonders if this is a mistake.

The dinner bell sounds and people file in chatting amongst themselves. They look well-fed and happy, with big smiles on their faces.

The seat themselves and start to eat.

They use the 2 foot spoons to scoop up the delicious food and serve the person opposite them.

The canteens are exactly the same.

For some it's heaven, because they choose to help each other.

For others it's hell, because they choose to help themselves.

The real question is:

How can I make and sell an online course that teaches people the best tactics for 10Xing their results from 2ft spoons?

Or, maybe whitelabel a 1ft spoon and sell it on Amazon.

Haha. I have a copy somewhere. The first chapter was a doozy. Then someone borrowed it.

I’ll get it on Audible. I prefer listening to books at the moment.

(Slaps wrist and goes to check Audible...)

That begs the question: Was MJ your middle school teacher back in the day?
MJ isn’t that old. I think he’s probably only got a couple of years on me (if that!).

(Andy tries to get back into the boss’s good books...)

I admire the honesty considering @Andy Black could’ve just (falsely) added the badge!

Definitely one of my favorite stories in the book and very appropriate to the forum and life.

Lets be clear: I did not write this story, from what I researched, it's a variation of an old folk tale.

I first saw a similar scene in a movie called The East.

The director solved for this problem by putting everyone in straight jackets.
That’s a great scene! Thanks for digging that up @JamItFast

@jasoncuellar123 ... What size are you? No reason, just curious...

Due to a clerical error, a man gets to choose whether he spends eternity in heaven or hell.
I can't reisist... this is a slightly "different" story.

A man dies and goes to hell, where he is given three choices of how to spend eternity. Room one is the classic version: evil-doers being tormented by fire and brimstone. In room two, people are being devoured by ferocious beasts. In room three, people are standing around, waist-deep in stinking sewage, drinking coffee. The man thinks "Well that's not great, but it sure beats the other two," so he chooses option three.

He wades in, wanders over to a big coffee urn, gets himself a cup of coffee, takes a sip, and is feeling pretty good about his decision.

Then a ferocious devil comes into the room with a whip and snarls "Allright you maggots! Coffee break is over! Back on your heads!"
