Hey everyone!

A few months ago, I stumbled into an online course about copywriting and creating an effective copywriting system. In this course, the instructor presented his "4x6 Copywriting System", that he used to launch several successful events, products, and courses.

Basically that system is about using 10 flash cards, 4 cards for describing the "Essentials" (What, Who, Why, When), and 6 cards to tell your "Now Reasons", why people should buy your product. On every card you briefly write down the answers to the presented question and then use those cards to write down your actual sales copy, without getting stuck on that evil empty page.

Anyway, since that course I kinda got addicted to these flash cards and started using them for everything ( Book Summaries, Goals, ToDo-Lists, and even for my Groceries... ). Soon, I realized that my apartment got filled up with tiny notes flying all around and started searching for a solution.

There are a ton of other note taking Apps out there, but I couldn't find one that would really fit my needs. So I decided that I could actually build one on my own.

The idea basically is to have some kind of dashboard that serves as a bucket for all your main topics, each would be one stack of your flash cards ( like a specific book summary, business ideas, your goal list... ) and to display everything in a nice and well-arranged way, so you are always on track of what you are working on. You could also add notifications, images, and stuff like that.

Now, as a first step, I would like to find out, whether there actually is any interest in something like that or not. I would be so happy, if you share your thoughts just below this thread.

Could be useful if you integrated a few ways to filter it down based on categories or string queries. The biggest challenge with monolithic data lakes is usually insufficient organization and structure. If you think about a tool like Microsoft OneNote, or Evernote, they are variations on the theme you're describing.

As an example, if you think about a site like this one, without tagging and searching you have to manually comb through every thread to find what you want. But because it has thread categories and text filtration you can easily return a finite list of relevant threads.

One trap I fell into when first starting my app was trying to be too much to too many audiences. The more features you plan to add, the less clear the purpose of the application becomes. So I would say if you niche down this idea to a specific group of people with a burning organization deficiency, could be very useful.

Thanks for your thought. Yep I guess categories and string queries are going to be essential features to find anything and will definitely be implemented too. The main thing I'm trying to find out is, whether people actually find that idea of storing their notes in flash cards interesting, or I'm just some weirdo that jots everything down on them. :D

In academia I'm sure it would be a hit. There are probably a few specific contexts where flash cards are valuable.

There are a bunch of note-taking apps out there, what makes your solution different? What value are you bringing to the table with your solution?

With Evernote you can scan your flash cards into notes, then tag the notes and organize them in notebooks.

I would suggest you look into applications such as Trello and make sure you're not building something that's already out there.

Also with any app, it's always a good idea to create a Mockup / Prototype first and ensure that there's actually a market out there for it. It's always for the better, you might get important feedback about features and UX before you start building that could save you time.

If you're doing it yourself some good tools for mocking up that you can learn within an hour are Adobe XD and Figma. They are both free and could help you brainstorm what you actually want to build.
