Hi, I have been a personal trainer in the UK for a long time now. I was qualified back when there were not as many trainers about, so it used to be very profitable, and can still be, but the trouble with the business model is that it’s limited by time.

The second problem is that fitness is my passion, and doing this for a living takes away from my own fitness and training, as by doing it paid, I have lost a lot of my own passion for being motivated to do my own training. This problem about doing things you have passion for in explained and brought back to my attention when I read -Unscripted -, so I can relate to it.

I have a chance to do a sales position selling property, which will earn me more than double what I can earn doing personal training, and I am thinking of taking it, and leaving my personal training.

My aim would be to have a new challenge, and to get some money behind me to invest into a new Unscripted venture later on, so it would be a stepping stone. I aim is to side hustle and build up a platform on the side, while earning money, which will support me while I work on something much better.

I will have a decent basic plus a great commission, but the problem is I would be working for someone else, which kinda goes against the grain with Unscripted , but it would be a stop gap, and I would be able to concentrate on my own fitness goals and get back my lost passion for weight training and fitness.

It feels li a backward step, and since I have read Unscripted , I am now thinking it might be best to NOT do a career that is my passion. Personal trainers are so common now, I feel that everyone is a qualified trainer in my area, so maybe it’s time to get out as it’s best to do the opposite of what the 99% are doing?

Can anyone relate to this? Or do you think that I am being an idiot, or thinking out of the box and trying something else might open a more opportunistic event later on.

I know a lot of what I am writing is me, me, me, and know that I need to add massive value, to get some value vouchers in my bank. But at the sam time, I need a constant flow of cash, so that I can built something, which will be of value to people.

I am looking at this as a long-term thing, so I know quick fixes don’t exist and taking a backward step, working for someone else would be the first step of many, if it gets me to Unscripted later on it must me worth it.

Any thoughts on this?

There's no harm in trying. It may not be difficult to revert to personal training as an income source if it were necessary, so that can serve as a sort of safety net.

Also, sometimes great fastlane opportunities are noticed when 'in the trenches', i.e. when you're in a job. What if you learned the operations of linking sellers of properties to those who want to purchase them? Perhaps, you can become independent of your employer and do it on your own so that you're not just getting commission which is likely relatively crumbs, but you'll retain a bigger profit. Just an example. I would just admonish you to beware of the seduction of the scripted life and its mediocre comforts.

Seriously? Get the job, invest in your project and bring back the joy of fitness and training.

Yeah, I am very aware and I would not be seduced by the pay check. The pay check for this would put me way above middle class average working wage in the UK. I would only be using it to invest in myself and to find a new way in creating massive value to others in my new chosen niche.

I think it’s a catch22, you need the money coming in, one way or another, as long as one is on the path to Unscripted , it matters not where the income is coming in from, but I don’t like the idea of working for someone else, but if it’s short term I will do it so that I can become more successful later.

At this point, I will give it a try and see what unfolds. I will hear back from this company on Monday, so I have to weekend to think about my options.

I have some other side hustles going on, so I do ya e additional incomes coming in

I have decided that it’s a bad idea to be sucked back into employment, so I am going to turn it down. If I am being honest, I think I was attracted to the quick fix of the paycheck, and even tho it will pay me a very high salary and commission, it is still slow lane , and I will lack the controls and have to suffer a boss and all that bull shit.

So, I am going to work my a$$ offf, and create a few side hustles I stream and look at finding some problems that need to be solved.

So F*ck the job, when they get in touch,

I will say: After careful consideration, your company has not been successful this time, however, I wish you all the very best for the future. Kind regards, Deano Demarco

P.s excuse me now, while I get onto the Fastlane road.
