Right now I'm living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Highly recommended if you're bootstrapping a location independent business or startup, but I'll blog about that part later.
In Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), motorbike is the number one form of transportation. The rules of the road are suspect at best, but somehow the traffic manages to flow like water.
I've been here for almost two months when yesterday I got hit by a bike while walking through a crosswalk.
I actually parried fairly well (I'm crediting muscle memory from MMA training) and didn't even get knocked over. I planted on my opposite foot and through my hip out slightly. A little bit of ice and some R&R and I feel fine.
But that motorbike could have been going faster. It could have been a jeep. I could have been killed. It wasn't a near death experience, but it still put a lot in perspective for me.
Which leads me to the point...
Does what you're doing really matter?
For me this means my work, my life, my relationships and my vision for the future. Am I spending enough time taking advantage of the opportunities I've been given?
In a lot of ways yes, but I want more. I want to do more, see more and challenge myself to find greatness wherever it may be.
This means more learning and more experiences.
With my business, I feel like what we're doing matters. We're changing a corrupt and shady industry for the better. We're providing people with premium products that help them optimize their lives and enhance their performance.
I don't think it's necessary to be consumer facing or to help people directly like we are.
The question to ask yourself is, are the things you're doing every single day matter? Are you just wasting time? Or are you giving into the resistance because you think you've had enough?
Anything is possible and for those reading this you're already on the right path. Keep going.
