You met someone with 3 posts here. Bet you won't be jumping in your car too quickly on the next round. Let people demonstrate value.
Yep. Lesson learned. I had my suspicions due to his post count and the wording of his original post. But I also had that 'miss 100% of the shots you don't take' line in the back of my mind too. Figured I would see what was what.
However, you have an opportunity to tell the story here so people understand the setup
- If you walk into a room (or basement) with 10 twenty-somethings and none of them talk about business or businesses for 45 minutes straight… It might be MLM
- If you ask "what is this is all about?" and no one can answer your question… It might be MLM
- If you ask point-blank, "is this MLM" and three separate people are called into the room, decide they aren't qualified to answer your question, and pass it off to the next guy until eventually you're asked "what do you mean by that? This is network marketing. Its a great opportunity"… It might be MLM
- If you mention you came from the Fastlane forum and no one knows what you're talking about… It might be MLM
- If no one will tell you the name of the system they're trying to sell you… it might be MLM
- If you look over the shoulder of the guy, see the name of the system on the TV, google it and the second result says "Is Worldventures and Dreamtrip a scam?"… It's probably MLM, dude. Put on your shoes and get the F*ck out of there.
Anyway. More mad at myself for not trusting my intuition. Not a mistake I will repeat.
On the bright side, the drive there was beautiful. Also, growth-wise, a pre-TMF me would have sat there and listened to the whole pitch out of politeness.
I also crammed my priorities today so I would have time to go to this thing. Meaning now I actually have an evening to myself for the first time in forever.
So not all doom and gloom!
I guess I was just expecting a bunch of business owners sitting around a room talking about what has worked and what hasn't. Instead, I got a bunch of kids sitting around a basement, talking about clubbing, picking up girls (for the guys), being pregnant too young (for the girls) and other sidewalk BS waiting for "the presentation to start". If I wanted that shit I'd still hang out with my old friends.
