FYI, it appears as though the Fastlane Summit group rate is no longer being offered by the resort. Enquired about a room yesterday and below is the reply from reservations...

"The Fast Lane Summit group has closed, but we can book you at our best available rate starting at $319 + a $25 daily resort fee. Please contact the reservations department and we can assist you with securing a room for February 15th-17th, 2018. Have a good day!"

For me it's about $300 CAD for any other day/week leading up to the event. For a thursday-sunday trip for this event, it's over $700!

It's also Winter Break for a lot of schools. Flights are very expensive around school vacations. Best thing you can do is use an incognito browser when shopping for the tickets. I got my flight from 600 to 450 this way (round trip)

Flights were brutal out of Ottawa man, I personally used Aeroplan pts and am flying down Wed, seemed a bit cheaper mid-week

Apparently, MJ has a ridiculous following of Canadians lol. I am flying from Vancouver and paid about $460. I have seen it cheaper around the 27th of December, so if you have a thick skin and can hold out for a chance at a cheaper ticket it might be worth it.

Feb 16 is the Chinese New Year Holiday. 15 is the Eve, which carries even more cultural significance.

I get to drive out from Albuquerque on Thursday and return on Sunday. If I had more time, I would attend the WWE wrestling shows on Monday and Tuesday at the same resort.

Getting in around 4pm. Leaving 7am.
Saved a good deal with those dates.

No there isn't.

But on Saturday after the event there should be some networking and hob-nobbing going on.

To the best of my knowledge:

- There are no plans to record anything as part of the event.
- Anything that may be recorded will be at the request of the presenter, for them to do with what they please.

Personally I think recording the speeches and giving them to non-attendees is a bit of a slap in the face to those who paid to be part of those talks.

I've been too buried in daily minutia to track this year's meetup.

For those who are going the only advice I can offer is to act as though each and every person you meet is a potential spouse; listen like they're the only person in the world at that time. Make friends, follow up, and be vulnerable to appearing dumb in exchange for learning life altering perspectives. Hearing out others, not being afraid to be wrong, and taking action while swallowing pride is a penultimate gift of this meetup.

For those who can't make it to this event, follow above advice in your daily life.
