Here we go again!...

A group of us will be restarting the 75 hard challenge this Thursday the 27th of Feb.

If you want in post up and let's go!

---

The rules...

***These rules are strict and ANY changes mean you are NOT doing the 75 hard challenge***

Typical rules changes that people try (and that void the challenge) are:
- not having one work out outside every day
- trying to suggest drinking less water than what the rules state
- not working out every day
- listening to audiobooks instead of reading
- trying to suggest stuff like cutting your grass is a workout

If this is going to be you then just go start your own thread and call it something else.

Don't bother posting about it being too much water or that you can't work out that much.
You don't have to do this challenge and the rules won't be changed to suit you.

So... NO RULE CHANGES OR "MODIFICATIONS" AT ALL.

The 75 Hard Challenge Rules:

  1. Follow a diet with no cheat meals – It isn't specific > just choose one that fits your lifestyle
  2. Workout 2x a day for at least 45 minutes – 1 of the workouts has to be outdoors
  3. Drink a gallon of water a day
  4. Read 10 pages of non-fiction entrepreneurship/personal development book per day
  5. Take a progress pic daily
  6. No alcohol consumption
If you do the above for 75 days in a row with no changes or days missed - you win.

To hear the rules and the idea behind it all you can listen to the podcast here with Andy Frisella:

---
Background for me doing this the second time:

During and since the summit a few dozen people have asked me about the 75 hard challenge and mentioned wanting to do it.
The last thread did really well with over 100k views and I would estimate around 30+ people finishing the challenge.

I think this time we can do even better and aim for 50 people to finish.

Last night in our mastermind call we had a few of us agree to get going on this...
@GoodluckChuck @Bradley R @GuitarManDan @JordanK @Water @Creed - put your hands up who is in.

On a personal level, I felt amazing when I finished the last time and have been keen to get back to that level once again.
---

If you are in for starting on this date post up and let us know.

There will never be "a good time" - the point of the challenge is to make time and do it anyway when it is difficult.

Goal: Let's see if we can get 50 people to finish this successfully.

Are you in..?

I love 2 a day workouts with one outside. A nice early morning session in the field across from my house which could include a myriad of calisthenics and high tempo stuff, like sprinting; followed by a gym session in the afternoon or evening.

The bulk of this challenge can simply be part of one's "Miracle Morning" - wake up, drink a glass of water, get your workout in, take a progress pic, and read 10 pages. You can do it in one hour (read: 4% of your day) with some hustle. The rest of it is just discipline - no cheat meals, no alcohol, and drink enough water. Easy stuff. Anyone here on this forum is capable so if Fox's post didn't inspire you enough already, seriously, just do it. Count me in.

Quick question so I'm sure I understand the rules. Must it be 2 different workouts with time in between, or could I just do a 1,5 hour workout (being at least half outdoors)?

If both are over 45 mins ya that’s all good.

I’ve done that before - did my gym session and then went right into a walk outside.

@Fox I would love to join but I've just started phase 1 and hope to finish the entire program on the anniversary of starting my 75 days last Summer.

Andy recently added random acts of kindness and talking to a complete stranger to phase 3, it becomes a bit of a full time job with the power list but the benefits are amazing.

Last time I did 75hard I could be found walking around the track with a book in my hand haha.

For those that are wanting to do this for the first time, one of the most common reasons people fail is because they try to track everything I'm their head. Get a notebook and write down your check list every day. Dont go to bed without ticking all the boxes!

Fox has a really cool app that is perfect for it. I'll be using a good old spread sheet.

I'm excited. Let's go! Definitely going to enjoy some beer for the next two days.

Yes I’m in. Andy did say you shouldn’t aim to do the workouts back to back its only as a last resort.

Doing a gym sesh and then straight into walking doesn't count as two workouts

Why not? If that's so, then what is the minimum time there needs to be between the two workouts?

That wasn't defined by Frisella so I believe it counts.

I'm in for trying something new. Somehow I totally missed the first thread until someone mentioned it at the Summit to me. If anyone here thinks in the same logical way I do, if you start on 2/27 and finish it the first round, you'll be done approx 10 days before Memorial Day (if you're in the US which is the unofficial start of Summer). Nice motivation!

45 minutes for each workout or in total? Anyway, count me in!

Each.

If you are in make sure to listen to the podcast linked in the first post. Would suck to be a few weeks in and find out you’ve been doing it wrong.

Although I have no Idea about the diet part? what kind of diet do you follow?

Welcome to the forum dude! Just pick a solid diet that is healthy for you.

For me it was...
- no treat food (doughnut, cake, chocolate)
- no high levels of sugar (jam, sugary drink, low-quality protein bar)
- no heavily processed food (pizza, kabab, white bread)

If it felt bad then I would avoid it. I wasn't strict at this at first and then had to restart.

Also, I would say to make sure to eat good quantities.
You will be training a lot - give your body the fuel it needs.

Can you find where it doesn't? Cause I never heard him mention it wasn't.

If I do a full indoor workout and then head outside and do a full walk then to me thats two workouts.

Open to be corrected but never heard otherwise. Source from Andy?

He says don't do the workouts back to back. Which is why I keep failing.

It in the original podcast you linked to, but I don't want to listen to the whole thing to find it. I'll tell you it isn't at min 24 when he first talks about working out. He throws it in towards the end somewhere I think, when he's talking about how people might cheat. I just remember I heard it.

If someone listens to the whole thing and I'm making this up, please tell me, because I can do 1.5 hrs first thing in the morning. So much easier.

So the program involves no modifications. Agreed it would be much more convenient to do 1.5 hours straight but it's not acceptable in this particular program.

He's said it in plenty of places- I dont have references off the top of my head but its posted all the time on the 75 hard fb group and andy has said it multiple times across his platforms.

For example there was someone who did a long distance event (marathon or whatever) and still got their second workout in later in the day.

The 25th of February was day 9 for me. Gonna join the thread to see who will make it to Phase 3.

For the gym bros, I have been running a 7-day split for the second workout and it has been doing wonders for me. Here it is (add 1 accessory every day, e.g.: tricep extensions or lateral raises):

Mon: OHP, Pulldowns
Tue: Bench, BB Row
Wed: Dips, Shrugs
Thu: Knee raises, Good mornings
Fri: same as Mon, different rep range
Sat: same as Tue, different rep range
Sun: same as Wed, different rep range

Hope it helps!
