The Cure for Happiness: Timeless Secrets to a Stress Free Life

happy.png

Amazon Paperback ($11.95): Amazon.com: The Cure for Happiness: Timeless Secrets to a Stress Free Life (9781520482460): Andrew Alexander: Books
Amazon Kindle ($3.49): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0Z5M9S/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20

Overview:
  • Take Full Control of Your Emotions: "Regardless of how chaotic or stressful life is on the outside, we are always in full control of how we feel on the inside."
  • Enjoy Every Second of Your Life: As business owners, we often place happiness in the future (some goal we don't have now). Through my journey of building my businesses, I discovered how to find that balance between motivation to achieve our goals, and to be happy along the way (the complacency vs. struggle problem).
My Experience:
When my first business collapsed in October 2015, I was left rushing to the emergency room on multiple occasions due to improperly handling my emotions (stress & anxiety). I found a natural solution. As a firefighter/emt/part-time law enforcement, I've been speeding 90 mph through city streets to shots fired calls, stuck in the basement of a burning building, and I've done CPR on a person for 10 minutes on my own before paramedics could arrive. I've been stuck in a foreign country with no access to my money, no cell phone service, with my bags thrown out in the city streets at 10:30 at night in the middle of November. I wasn't stressed in that last instance because of what I learned along the way.

Through facing these emotional problems in my life, I decided to go on a journey to find out how to take full control of my emotions and to release the unhealthy buildup of unwanted emotions in 5 minutes or less and how to turn negative emotions into the most powerful force that helps us thrive.

About 15% of the book is me crying about a girl I fell in love with and lost...be warned. She's pretty darn amazing.

I am Not a Millionaire: Making the Shift from Failure to Financial Freedom

cover.png
Overview: In 2011, at the age of 25, I read The Millionaire Fastlane and got woken up to the world of internet entrepreneurship for the first time (previously studied to become a cop). I struggled for two and half years jumping from idea to idea, was lost and confused, and eventually went on to build a digital magazine portfolio with a readership of 1,200,000 people, acquired more than 11,800 paying customers, and earned my freedom to quit the corporate world live that "laptop on the beach" passive income lifestyle.

Who It's For:
The first-time entrepreneur who has not yet built their first business and perhaps just finished reading TMF and Unscripted . They are looking for a product or service to sell, they want to learn the fundamentals of (marketing, copywriting, and sales), and they want to avoid the common pitfalls early-stage entrepreneurs fall into.

Who It's Not For:
Experienced business owners.

Thanks so much for the opportunity! I'm going to stay anonymous, though, and not only because I'm shy, hah!

Mostly, it's because the cloak of anonymity enables me to keep updating my progress thread without self-censoring. If my "Chickenhawk Progress thread" were ever associated with my pen name, I'd feel awkward about sharing so much information on earnings, strategies, etc. All this to say, I think I can provide more value here by remaining incognito.

Great to see so many authors here though!

This is great timing because my latest revision of my safe sourcing and importing book will be available maybe today, or maybe tomorrow.

The reason for my uncertainty is that apart from writing it, editing it, and proof reading it, the formatting and publishing is handled for me by Jim Cockrum's team at the Proven Amazon Course.

You will see that the links to my books are affiliate links, but let me explain. A few years ago I became so overwhelmed with the support needs for my book buyers that I turned to Jim Cockrum, who runs the Proven Amazon Course (PAC), and I use his paid support team to look after most of my book readers' questions. In return he handles all the sales of my book as well as the technical issues involved in the formatting and publishing. This means that to sell my book I have to use affiliate links.

I taught Jim's support team a lot of what I know on the subject, but occasionally they find a question too hard, so they refer it straight on to me.

I have also recently published my book on labeling, but that is outside the scope of the many courses currently comprising the PAC, so I have arranged for family members in the UK to market that book for me. Details below.

So, here are the links to my safe sourcing and importing book, Import Direct From China and Many Other Countries: Your Guide To Finding The Best Suppliers, Best Products, and Best Prices And How To Easily Organize The Importing Procedure
PDF Version: https://ko296.isrefer.com/go/pcs001/whay/

Kindle Version: https://ko296.isrefer.com/go/pcsk/whay/

Paperback Version: https://ko296.isrefer.com/go/pcscs/whay/

My labeling book.
This book won't be for everyone who just wants to slap a sticker on a generic product. It is designed to help private label sellers to appreciate how simple differentiation of their brand from a multitude of others by just slapping on their own brand label is inadequate if they want to really make something of their brand.

Even generic products can become great brands, although I would recommend having a product that has sufficient merits of its own so that brilliant labeling and packaging are not the only things that it has going for it. Your USP could be a label and packaging that grab and hold the consumer's attention, but I would be disappointed if people only use my book for that purpose.

If you have a great product, make it a great brand. That's what my book is designed to help you do.

Here's part of the introduction:

Winning The Fight For Attention Online Or On The Shelves.
Do you want your labels, branding, and packaging to sell for you, or to just look pretty? From the moment you put your new product on display you are in a fight to stand out from the rest either online or on the store shelves.

Not all labels are born equal. There is much more to choosing labels than simply printing them and sticking them on.

Your choice of labels can make or break your private labeling business. This book will show you the difference between a huge range of different labeling or brand marking methods. It might open your eyes to possibilities that really can make your product and your brand appear unique and give the impression that it is the one the buyer must have.

After all what is your objective in private labeling? Do you want to:
  • Establish a repeat business with customer brand loyalty?
  • Market a product that stands out from the crowd?
  • Build a brand?
  • Protect your brand from competition?
  • Get a premium price?
Well thought-out labeling can help you on the road to private labeling success. But don’t forget to ALSO think of packaging as an advertising medium.
Why don’t businesses just use brown paper bags? etc.....
With long experience in designing, sourcing and selling labels and other product identification methods, I have been able to describe 26 different labeling and branding methods and provide links to sources, most within the USA, UK and Australia, but having relevance to other countries because of what those manufacturers' sites can teach.

If you are selling clothing, about 18 or 20 of those methods won't be for you, but the principles I teach about label design, making use of my experience and my knowledge of marketing psychology will still help. The same applies if you are selling kitchenware. Maybe only 5 or 6 of the methods will be directly relevant.

Thanks for the thread, @MJ DeMarco.

Leave the Grind Behind (Amazon).

It's about leaving a solid (good 6-figure) job to do something much more badass. I know so many people who want to quit and build their own path, but it's tough when you have a nice salary, health benefits, 401K, family to support, mortgage, etc...

If you need a little nudge, hopefully my book can be that push for at least a few of you.

Just co-authored (ghost-wrote the whole thing) the marketing piece of a book released 3 days ago.

Topic isn't as sexy as some of the above, but still a badge of honor.

Many of the early-readers of the PDF reached out to me cold just to say they loved it (some as far as Eastern Europe and South Africa), so great feedback so far.

I have a book on Amazon also but I recently decided to re-edit and update it so I will come back and post when it's done.

It's a wake-up call and dialogue about our loss of privacy and how to manage it. I called out the hidden cameras and microphones in smart TV's 2 years ago and it was just revealed in the news recently.

Thanks, MJ. Though I sold out of the first two printings of my first graphic novel, people are still selling print copies on Amazon. It's called Table for One, and I pitch it as 'Dirty Harry as a waiter'. It's also available in digital form at ComiXology here.

I also have the first 3 chapters of my second graphic novel available in digital form on Amazon Kindle. It's called The Infidel. I intend to collect all of the 6 or 7 chapters into a full print graphic novel, in the end. It's also available digitally at ComiXology here.

I am pleased to announce that the latest revision of my book is now available. Those who have purchased previous editions are entitled to free copies of every update. Over the next few days they will be receiving emails from my support team with a free download link.

Among changes of note are:
Information links are provided dealing with labeling requirements.
Expansion of the Alibaba section, with advice on how to safely use that site.
Detailed report on Alibaba's Trade Assurance system. Their rules have been expanded substantially, from 2 A4 pages to 16.
Addition of a section on obtaining binding duty rates in advance. (Thanks to @Vigilante. This can save a lot of pain.)
Addition of sections dealing with Importer of Record, Customs Bonds, and Power of Attorney.
There are now 27 links to help source products from countries other than China, including more detailed site navigation help, and a few paragraphs on making sourcing requests through various means other than the B2B sites.
Inclusion of an important warning note about Aliexpress dropshipping.
Expanded chapter on Inspection Services, mainly resulting from changes to Alibaba's listing of those services.
Updating of the Glossary, including a link to Incoterms.

Walter

P.S. If current book owners don't receive a download link please email my support team with your purchase details and permission to use your email address for this purpose only.

In response to a question from a recent buyer of my labeling book, I am pleased to announce that as is the case with my sourcing and importing book, every revision will be available for free download to all who have bought a copy.

The labeling book is only quite new, but I am already in the process of preparing a revision. All who have a copy will be notified when it is ready.

See Post #8 above for the links to both books.

So I'd like to recognize (and advertise) some of the contributors here who are authors and have books for sale on Amazon.
Mine is just published. I owe you for being one of the sources of kick-in-the-a$$'ation, and mostly to turn my first idea into something more suitable for a market, rather than for myself.
It's called The Rock Star Paradox: How to quit your miserable musician life by hacking the secrets of true rock stars and as you can guess, it targets musicians who have the sad habit to complain about how unfair is the music business, without knowing how they create their own misery by themselves.
51qhgX8OR6L.jpg

Understanding the paradoxes that make rock stars and applying a few tricks can go a long way. I'm being realistic too, I don't sell an overnight transformation into Rod Stewart or Mick Jagger, but The Rock Star Paradox can take you to a practical step higher in your music career.
And The Millionaire Fastlane is in the recommended books section. Doesn't get any better, doesn't it? :)
It's on Kindle Amazon here, and a pdf download will follow soon.

The latest revision of my book: " LABELS THAT EXPLOIT THE Power of Psychology, Persuasion, and Emotion" is now available.

It has been expanded considerably and now includes more on marketing psychology. For Canadian readers I have also added links for Canadian suppliers. I believe its educational value can be a great help to readers in other countries although there are links to suppliers in only USA, Canada, UK, and Australia.

The primary objective is to help readers avoid the "me too" syndrome that affects even private label marketers. This has been brought about by private label "experts" preaching that to private label means to "slap on a sticker" and voila you are immediately in the private label business.

I set out to show how to not just differentiate you product with your own label, but how to make your private label a great brand. Although I have had great success in B2B marketing, I don't purport to teach how to market your product. That is for online marketing experts.

Here is the contents list: TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Marketing Psychology.…. Too Hard?
2. Branding And Marketing — Understanding Private Labeling.
3. Case Study: Eight Year Old Boy Applies Marketing Psychology.
4. The Value Of Perceptions.
5. Why Use Quality Labels?
6. Brand Names, Logos, And Slogans.
7. The Importance Of Consistency.
8.
The Design Process.
9. Learn From Your Competitors.
10. Technical Terms…... Jargon Explained.
11. Labeling And Branding Methods.
11.1 Printed Paper Labels and Printed Plastic Labels.

The subsections 11.1 to 11.26 each deal with a different type of labeling or
branding method.

12. Powerful Packaging.
13. Labeling Your Product And Packing Your Packages.
14. Colors, And Their Potential To Influence Decisions.
15. Choosing Products To Sell.
16. Private Label Product Suppliers – Basic Procedures.

Thanks for the opportunity, MJ. My book actually falls under my first love (History) and is a WWII narrative about one of the most decorated ships of the war. If you're a History guy, check it out! I chose to self-publish, as the story is personal to me and I didn't want to change anything. More books are in the works..including business-related. If you get a copy, I would be very appreciative if you would leave a review. Thanks!

I have realized that I forgot to post the contents list for my latest Labeling book revision, so I have added it below.

The 2019 revision has a substantially greater amount of information on marketing psychology, including how to use your customers' emotions, after asking yourself a number of questions as if you are the customer being surveyed.

There is a new chapter on the value of perceptions, and help with the process of choosing a brand name and slogan to fortify those perceptions.

For EU members there are now a lot of supplier links to locate the labels they might choose to use, including printed metal labels, but for the more elaborate metal labels they will have to join their counterparts in all other countries and locate them from the China/Taiwan links.

The book has a new title that better reflects the emphasis on the use of psychology to build a great brand. The title now is: LABELS THAT EXPLOIT The Power of Psychology, Perceptions, and Emotions

TABLE OF CONTENTS
  1. Labels And Their History.
  2. Marketing Psychology.…. Too Hard? Essential learning.
  3. Branding And Marketing — Understanding Private Labeling. Not merely “Slap on a sticker".

Thanks for this MJ,

I have a book on Amazon about Minimalism called MINIMAL LIFESTYLE
Here's the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GWAT2LO/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20

Initial idea was to have a cheap book on amazon to bring people to my related website and upsell something else but that never took off. I'm open to any feedback those who read it may have (just pm me so this thread is about the books only)

Thank you

New Book answering a great need.

I have now published my book titled:
FRANCHISE YOUR WAY TO THE FASTLANE
SCALING ON STEROIDS
Need a great way to scale your business?

For breathtaking growth, Franchising is your answer.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
Introduction. Why not scale using others’ capital? Avoid employing staff.
1. My Experience.
2. Benefits of Franchising.
3. Costs Borne By Franchisees.
4. Your Costs.
5. Franchise Law and Franchise Contracts.
6. Definition of a Franchise.
7. Difference between Franchises, Distributorships, & Licences.
8. Which Businesses Can Be Franchised?
9. How to Decide if a Business is Suitable for Franchising.
10. Things to Consider When Deciding About Franchising a Business.
11. Scouting for and Acquiring Suitable Businesses to Franchise.
12. Shortcut to Wealth via Buying a Master Franchise.
13. Sell Franchises Greenfield or Functioning?
14. Delineating Territories.
15. Setting Prices for Territory Licenses.
16. Selling Master Franchises.
17. Selecting Franchisees. Why be Choosy?
18. Keeping Franchisees Happy.
19. Conferences.
20. Replacing Franchisees.
21. Writing an Operations Manual.
22. Advertising Essentials.
23. Advertising Levy.
24. Royalties.
25. What if the Economy Goes Into Recession?
26. Selling Franchises in Other Countries.

This book is NOT about buying franchises, which is something I would never recommend. It includes one exception. See Ch.12. This book is about a method for answering a great need.

The need is evident in the huge number of posts on the forum referring to scaling. Many of them ask how to scale.

Although there are some business types not suited to franchising, there is a huge range of business types that can be scaled by that method. These include both B2B and B2C businesses.

In my thread:
Rapid Scaling a business by franchising
I posted the complete chapter 9 How To Decide If A Business Is Suitable For Franchising.

You can buy the book on my Marketplace offer: Walter Hay's Business Books. See link in my signature below.
