Do I Reaaaaaally not need a website?

Hello, new here and I may be biased since I'm a graphic designer, but do we really not need a website to get sales?

I'm not good at outreach, so I'd feel more confident selling if I already have an internet presence (website, content, etc.) so I can attract people who are already interested in what I'm selling (email marketing).

I'm a bit lost on how to get sales without all the fancy stuff, tbh.

I don’t use my website at all. Not one of my customers came from it. I could shut it down today and no one would likely notice for months.

That said, I have a website. They’re cheap. Why not. You should have one.

If you have the cash for it then do it.
For artists it's a great decentralized medium to display your skills.
It's cheap and since it's yours you can customize it to reflect your personality and style.
If you end up hating it or it's not serving you anymore you can always delete it. If you end up loving it and you get clients from it you won't need to wonder if it was a good idea or not.
