So I just found out some awful news.

I fly out of Louisville Kentucky Thursday at 9am EST and when I checked the 10 day forecast back Saturday night, everything was clear and bright as far as weather goes.

They are now calling for 8-12 inches of snow Wednesday-Thursday, which means if that happens I will not be making it.

8-12 inches might not be a lot for some cities, but when it comes to the rural part of Kentucky I will be stuck in the house ( and possibly without power ) for at least 3-4 days as our roads ( and driveways ) where I live won't be plowed anytime soon.

I am still going to plan and be ready in case the weather people are wrong to come in and speak and be there for the lunches and dinners I set up, however there is a great chance I won't be there.

Sorry to hear that. Looking forward to hearing your presentation but am wishing you safety above all else!

I can talk about emerging trends in web app including single page applications and realtime frameworks and reactive web components. It might be a little rough given that I don't have a lot of time, but it is all very interesting and cutting edge stuff.

Going to do everything I can to make it...but in the unfortunate situation of flights/travel being cancelled for a while and me being unable to sell the ticket last minute, is there any way I'd be able to get some type of credit to use for the next meetup?

I had my flight changed to depart out of a different city that's not supposed to get any snow. We'll see how that goes, but now I'm scheduled to get in at 9:00 pm, so I'll miss dinner

Like @throttleforward mentioned, you can get your flight shifted around pretty easy. When i called yesterday, she looked up the weather advisory and asked what my end goal was. Moved from a IAD-DEN-PHX at 9am 3/5 to 10pm tonight IAD->phx to avoid all issues. Might be a good idea for you depending on what the timing is up there.

Me too!!! I looked forward to the event so much but some unfortunate event made it impossible.

I went to BnP last year and it changed my life. I met a lot of great people and got motivation (and help) to start my own online business. I have been self employed since May last year and I'm loving every minute of it.
The fact that my business is location independent makes it possible for me to move to Poland (flying out tomorrow) to be with my family when they need me.
