Still shipping internationally, we have warnings on the website regarding delays due to C0VlD-19.
Huge increase in number of enquiries, 99% of people are understanding when they receive their response.

I should add to that, imports from China stopped during February and March, (every year there's delays due to Chinese New Year but this one extended) but in the last 3 weeks we've received deliveries which were back to Pre COVID shipping times.

A month ago I had an order of 12 boxes from China, 11 turned up, DHL still can't definitely confirm what happened to box 12. Still chasing them up but who knows if it will turn up or not.

Thanks, yup, the shipping out from China is definitely back to normal, but the problem now is to and fro non-China countries that seems to be the issue.

There’s a growing and vocal anti-Made-In-China movement in the USA right now.

For some, it seems like racism masquerading as patriotism. The Chinese people had nothing to do with the coronavirus.

Not intending to turn this discussion political… It’s just an observation of a real aftermath of C0VlD-19

Kinda blows my mind how some people on here think that the shutdown doesn’t help reduce the spread of the virus.

I mean what do you think happens if you have a sick person in isolation vs. sick people in groups?

Obviously virus can’t spread if you are in complete isolation. More people sick = more deaths.

Why can’t the people against the lockdown just admit that they salty that the pandemic has caused their business to tank?

Clearly you haven’t been keeping up with the thread. It’s all been laid out here. You come in here late to the game to tell us we’re all salty. I’m more salty that you’re willfully ignorant at this point.

sequestering was never to reduce the death toll. It was simply to flatten a trajectory and extend it so as to not overwhelm the healthcare system. That alone would give people a better chance of survival, but the worst case scenario envisioned in the off-base prognostications never materialized. If you think that the sequester was to keep you from ever being exposed to the disease, you’ve missed the science and bought the hype. The data says that’s not even a worthwhile discussion to entertain at this point. You are still living at the beginning of the hysteria.

I hate that I keep checking the 'dashboard' to see how my region is doing. I'm hoping we make our metrics for the 15th. It hasn't been updated since 5/11 so it could be changing today for all I know. Regional Monitoring Dashboard

I'm not monitoring at all. Doing my part with ppe, distancing, and hygiene. But still doing lots of activities.

We have no real choice other than let this work its way through the system.

So to me, I don't want to be a victim of hype or anxiety. Moving forward with my life until something forces me to do otherwise.

Normally I wouldn't but I need the courts to reopen on Friday and getting 7/7 is the only way that is happening. I'm losing a lot of money everyday the courts are closed.

I wonder if there's any eCom sellers here still shipping internationally. Is there an increase in the no. of customers demanding to know where's their items? Seems that for some sellers, packages are still stuck in transit in their country of origin after 2+ weeks.....I'm curious to know how people are handling that issue here. Or maybe stop shipping internationally?
We stopped all international orders in March/April. Simply wasn't worth the hassle for now.

I feel this way for many physical goods. But it’s not racism, it’s simply not being reliant on any country for things, especially critical goods. I feel the same way if it’s made in India, Australia, Canada, etc. When the sh&t hits the fan every country has shown they will look out for them selves first.

Digital goods and services, or noncritical supplies and commodities, I could care less about. Those are not at risk of being redirected in crisis. The real question i guess will be if people are willing to pay the labor premium of having goods made in the US. In the long term my guess is no.

I don’t think anyone is arguing that lockdowns don’t work. They do, IF caught early.

With Ebola, it’s not as easily transmitted from person to person, and the symptoms are very apparent. People will naturally want to distance them selves from someone who’s bleeding from their eyes.

The point is, you can contain the people who are sick until they either get over it or die, therefore preventing the general population from getting sick

The problem is That this is far far past the point of being able to contain it. Maybe if China had handled the situation better from the very beginning and locked them selves down before it spread to other places, then a lockdown could have worked.

But at this point, the cat is so far out of the bag that lockdowns can only delay the inevitable: This has to run its course through the population.

Also, to say that “we’re just salty because this lockdown made our businesses tank” is very naive, and it’s akin to the whole “dollars vs lives” argument.

Its not about the money, it’s about the lives that will be impacted because of the shutdown of the economy.

Am I just salty that hundreds of millions of people will potentially starve because of the shut downs?

And do i even have to mention that tens of millions of Americans are out of work right now?

If you think that the sequester was to keep you from ever being exposed to the disease, you’ve missed the science and bought the hype. The data says that’s not even a worthwhile discussion to entertain at this point. You are still living at the beginning of the hysteria.

Exactly. The intention was never to prevent people from coming in contact or even have less people die from the disease. It was to slow that spread so that the hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed.

That's why the "stay home save lives" propaganda is incorrect, and I know you're a moron if you tout it. Those people will die regardless, instead of dying in march, they would die in April.

Just as a final though: If There really is a .2% chance of death from C0VlD-19, I am 100% willing to take it.

Suicide1 in 86
Opioid Overdose1 in 98
Car Crash1 in 106

Thats a 1.16% chance that you will kill your self. 1.02% chance that you will Overdose. .94% chance you'll die in a crash.

Yet there is a measly 2 in 1000 chance that you will die due to C0VlD-19. I don't know about you, but as a healthy person, that is nothing to stop my life over.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.

Folks, if you like your privacy and anonymity, you should turn automatic updates OFF on your phone. Evidently, I am hearing that this tracking software will be woven into the system updates on Apple and Android phones.

I will not be volunteering data about where I go, what I am doing, or who I walk near to "public health authorities."

I am also running a VPN on my phone through Ireland just to screw it up more.

It’s hard to believe these aren’t part of a massive psychological operation. Psy-Ops are usually associated with tin foil hats, but I can’t explain it any other way.

Even when there is weak evidence to support wearing masks outside acute medical settings, we are still being mandated to wear a mask.

Either the CDC and the governors are pitifully ignorant, or there is an ulterior motive here.

In addition to being primed via broadcasts, I believe masks are part of the same operation. A masked person sews distrust and division.

A populace cannot come together to stand up to anything when there is an actual physical barrier creating distrust and division.

We are being primed both audibly and visually I’d say.

I have a Motorola phone. Built in China. I've always felt a bit uneasy about this, knowing that China is probably watching everything I do.

On December 31, an update was forcibly pushed to my phone.

Thought it was a bit weird.

Looking back, they already knew about the outbreak in Wuhan at that point. Was this some sort of additional surveillance (e.g. to filter for terms like "Wuhan" or "coronavirus")?

Now, they are pushing another forcible update to my phone. I can choose to install it now, but if I don't, they will install it for me on May 22 at 12:03 AM.

I'm not hopeful that Illinois will follow suit, cause they sure do need that fed money to bail them selves out of decades of mismanagement. But hey, Hopefully gaultier pritzker backs down too

Exactly. The intention was never to prevent people from coming in contact or even have less people die from the disease. It was to slow that spread so that the hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed.

These statements contradict themselves, no? You said the intention was never to prevent people from coming in contact or even have less people die from the disease, but it was to slow the spread so hospitals won't be overwhelmed.

I agree with the hospitals not being overwhelmed part as I currently work in a healthcare facility, but the reasons we don't want hospitals overwhelmed is to have less people die from the disease (which you said was never the intention). Do you see how contradicting it is.

Hospitals being overwhelmed means more deaths because overwhelmed hospitals could mean they don't have enough mechanical ventilators. So someone that could have survived with a mechanical ventilator, nows dies because the hospital doesn't have enough ventilators. I have a friend that is a nurse and thats what they had to do...
