How do you go from making a few hundred a month online to building something real and scalable — especially when you don’t have a niche or deep expertise?
That’s the question I keep running into, and I’d really love to hear how others here made the leap.
About me and a quick background:
I’ve been online for 8 years now. Mostly small freelance gigs — graphic design and random services — but never more than a few hundred euros per month. Nothing that could grow into a real business.
In late 2023, I went all in. I had saved up €15K and invested it into a dropshipping course. I ran a store for a year. It ended up doing okay — found a winning product, sales came in — but margins were so low that I decided I didn’t want to keep doing China-based dropshipping.
Since early 2025, I’ve been selling a digital product (an eBook bundle). Paid ads worked a bit, but organic content didn’t. And now, it’s stuck: the price is too low for paid ads to be worth it, and organic growth is going nowhere.
Some might say: “Well, you do have experience — 8 years of freelancing is something!”
But here’s the thing:
Yes, I’ve done freelancing for years, but I’ve never made real money with it. I don't feel right creating a product or course about how to freelance when I’m only making a few hundred euros a month myself. That would feel dishonest — like pretending I’ve figured it out when I haven’t.
So I’m stuck in this middle zone:
I’ve seen the advice: get a job, look for problems, solve them. I’ve tried offering services where I saw problems, but it never went beyond small cash here and there.
Anyone been stuck in this “forever side hustle” loop and finally got out?
How did you do it?
Would love to hear your perspective.

- No niche or deep knowledge.
- A service that never scaled.
- A infoproduct market flooded by low-barrier AI content.
