Hey high performers!

I know we are always looking for ways to do things more efficiently, so I am very interested to know how you guys structure your day? I know this can differ a lot day to day, but maybe we could learn a few new things!

What's your secret sauce? Is it coffee? tea? bulletproof? meditation? IF? keto? vegan?

6:00 - Wake
6:05 - Shower, teeth, get dressed, make tea, get water.
6:30 - Meditation & gratitude journal
7:00 - Go to office
12:00 - Lift weights
1:30 - Back to office
5:00 - Head home
5:30 - Eat
Wind down for the day, audiobook listening/walk/socialise.
10:00 - Bed

This goes to plan probably 65% of the time... (WIP)

Let's hear it! How do you structure your day?

Great post!

As soon as I wake up (4:30-4:45 am), I thank God for the blessings in my life, then have a “Miracle Morning”, followed up by planning out my day with the My Fastlane Daily planner. I then hop on the forum for 10-15 minutes.

I then drink a glass of water with apple cider vinegar and put Stur in it to give it flavor

By that time, my 2 year old boy is waking up and we have what I call a “B4 Morning” - Books, Baseball, Basketball and Breakfast before doing anything else

Typically workout 3 days week and listen to a success hypnosis while I’m working out, cooking, running errands, etc

I take a cold shower every time after the gym. I don’t drink coffee, don’t drink alcohol and don’t waste time looking at the dirty tube

Just recently started emailing myself my to-dos right before I fall asleep so I can be more productive

The Miracle Morning is key (and recommend on here)

Solid thread idea here! My routine Mon-Fri:

7am wakeup
10 minute stretch
10 minute meditation
20 minute workout (at home)
Brush teeth
Either bulletproof coffee or breakfast or both
Daily vlog/email

Get to work

At night:

930 laptop/phone away
10 minute meditation
40min non-fiction reading
Brush teeth
15min fiction reading
Lights out by 11pm

I don't consider myself a high-performer, yet

But here's my routine:

4:30 — wakeup
5:00-6:00 — lift
6:00-7:00 — walk/run home, shower
7:00-7:30 — food
7:30-9:00 — work
9:00-13:00 — classes
13:00-13:20 — food
13:20-17:00 — school work
17:00-17:30 — food
17:30-19:30 — work
19:30-20:00 — get ready to sleep
20:00-20:15 — read
20:15-4:30 — sleep (solid 8 to 8.5 hours)

As you can see, I only spend ~3.5 hours working on my business.

Some days I can put in more hours depending on my classes, but I feel like I'm moving so slowly partly because of this.

So...I'm working on speeding up parts of my day. Eating takes a long time and so does commuting from place to place.

And classes and schoolwork, but that is another situation altogether...

I love these discussions! I'm a firm believer that how you approach your day makes a massive difference to what you achieve in your life.

I'm currently in the process of creating my new routine - as I literally have NO CONSTRAINTS over how I structure my day. (I work/study online, go to a 24/7 gym.. don't have kids..).

This sounds amazing - however I have found it MUCH harder to have a kickass routine when you have NO constraints on your time. I found that when I worked 9-5 for someone else, I packed so much into my 'off time'. My routine was awesome! When I left that job it became difficult. The discipline to keep a now-arbitrary routine is TOUGH.

I can say this with absolute confidence. When I get up at 5am, I achieve more. No matter what else happens in my life. I recognise this isn't the same for everyone - but it is the reoccurring pattern my last 15 years.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

When you're an employee (and I'm generalising here) you have to be at work at a certain time, do specific tasks, eat lunch at a certain time and finish at a certain time.

If you're in prison, it's exactly the same. Breakfast at a certain time, recreation, lunch, lights off, work etc.

When you don't have a boss you choose what to do and this is where some issues can start. I don't feel like waking up tomorrow at 6 am because I don't have to get my workout in before work at 9 am, I can wake up at 8 am and start my work at 11 am. Then depending on what mood you're in you can make different decisions.

Two of the best books I've ever read (apart from The Fastlane Millionaire) are Work the System by Sam Carpenter and The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen. Work the system is about systemising every aspect of your business in a step by step order so that no matter who is performing the task it's done the same way.

I'll give you an real-life scenario from my previous company of how a task was done without someone following the Standard operating procedures, guides etc and doing it his own way.

I owned a computer repair store for 16-17 years, when I read work the system I started implementing lots of guides and set ways of doing tasks. One of the tasks was that when you repaired a computer and put it back in the locker you would update the shelf number on the system so that when the client came to collect it was quick to find and also ensured they got the correct one back. So a client comes in with his receipt and i check on the system and go to shelf 16 where it says his computer is, hand it over and he says that's not mine. So now I look like a complete idiot, anyway after the client gave me the make and model I was able to find it in shelf 27. My staff member hadn't updated the shelf number as per the step by step guide.

So the task had two different outcomes because someone decided not to follow the guide.

It's extremely easy to lose weight, write down a process and follow it without fail, step by step for the next 30-60-90 days. Very easy to do, but as Jeff Olsen says in the slight edge also very easy not to do. If you start making your own decisions after day 16, or 21 etc the outcome will be different.

Routines are very important and anybody can achieve anything they want but you must stick to the routine and not let you moods or thoughts dictate whether to stick to it or not.

Something I'm still trying to conquer!

This. I am unemployed now as I’m relocating while finding a new job at the place I’m relocating to. I’m trying a new method to be as productive as possible while trying to create a highly effective/productive routine.

I’m using Toggl to track my hours per activity now to ensure that I’m using my time efficiently. For instance, I have multiple goals per day - 1. Read at least 1 hour. 2. Work on a personal project for at least 4 hours. (Finding employment for now)

I don’t have a fix schedule as of now (finding it hard to follow a schedule with “unlimited” times on my hands due to unemployment) but I’m trying to be consistent in hitting the minimum hours of my daily goals to be as productive as possible. Also, to see where I’ve been wasting my time on and play around the timing throughout the day in order to maximise my efficiency by experimenting my energy levels too. I do play games from time to time as a stress reliever, but I log these hours and ensure i don’t waste more time than I can afford.

I’m looking to add weekly exercise/daily mindfulness (while reading more on effective habits/routine of highly successful people) to form an unstoppable/highly motivational routine that drives my entrepreneurial journey and personal goals etc.

^learning/tweaking/revising the above from time to time too. What do you guys think about what I wrote or does routine/habits don’t matter much as long as you get work done every day? Any suggestions to what I can add to my routine or thoughts?

I am a lot more disorganized in Comparison.

After waking up identify tasks to be finish for the day.
1) work tasks : a, b, c and d
2) admin tasks: e and f
3) exercise tasks: g

For instance there are 6 taskS to be finished for the day and it is 9am now.

“Okay, I will choose to do e from 9-10, and f from 11-12.” based on my estimation of time demanded. Once i finished e and f, I will see what time is it by then and block accordingly.

“okay it is 11.30 and I am 30 min ahead of schedule. Let me squeeze a first before I head to lunch at 12.15”.

This is the game plan I use to keep time blocks accountable...how much time spent for each task. This is to avoid distraction and day dreaming when you used 3 hours to finish something that should be done in 45 min.

Mi daily routine is:
6:00: Wake up
6:00 - 7:00: Miracle Morning (read, write, meditation, etc.)
7:00 - 15:00: Work
15:00-17:00: Read
17:00-18:00: Study about something that I am interested
19:00 - 22:00: Relax, other things
22:00: Sleep

It's depend on the work and the day can change, but I try to do at least from Monday to Friday. Also, sometime I work on weekend, but almost always I use it to study or work in something new like projects or ideas.
