It's a different mentality. The thought of " I might not get a ticket" never entered my mind when booking a flight.
Yup. One way or another, we're coming.

Totally need to submit my speaker application tonight...

Is anyone welcomed to join? I'm really interested but would fall under a 'noob'. Actually went out to Scottsdale a month or so back just to see the scene due to so many members are from there and I kept hearing it's a great place for biz.

I would love to meet and network with you all. I only wish I ran into the forum and MJ's book years earlier!

Room booked. I'll probably go out a week early or stay a week late and do an Airbnb if anyone is interested splitting that before/after the event.

I am 15 years old and really hope I can go this year.

I remember last year there was an age requirement of 18 years old and older....

Is this still a requirement?

Yes sorry, don't think you can even get in the casino. You must be at least 18.

Just gotta get my $400 together and I'll be set lol might have to take out a short-term loan since I'm tapped out until next Friday. The funny part is I was already planning a pretty extensive trip to Phoenix/Scottsdale around the exact same date (actually the weekend before) so now I can come out for the meetup and stay and decide if I want to move there permanently. This works out great!

Is there any way I can talk to you personally about my current situation?

This thread is about the meetup, and @MJ DeMarco doesn't take personal private messages, but if you want to post a thread, many of the members here might be able to help you with what ever you are dealing with.

Hey everyone.

This sounds pretty cool. I'm planning on being in California and Arizona during February anyway, so this might be perfect timing. I read MJ's book a few months ago, and it's now one of my favorite books of all time :)

Anyway, I'm curious about what sort of skill level this event will be geared toward.

Is this a newbie type event, or do you think someone who has more experience in business and marketing could get a lot from this sort of event?

I'd probably consider myself mid-level. We do over 6-figures a year, but I'm always looking to improve that and grow. Plus, there's all the weird issues that come when you start to get some traction that you never even consider when you're broke like how to scale, dealing with growing pains, how to manage and invest your money to become truly rich, etc.

Of course it would be awesome to meet other like-minded people (I've been too anti-social over the years..!), but I'm just curious if past attendees could tell me if this kind of event would be a good fit for an intermediate entrepreneur like me...?

Any skill level. Think of it as a knowledge accelerator, from all different aspects of business and lifestyle.

Stop putting yourself in a category of skill level, there are most likely things you could learn even from a beginner. Go in with that mindset and you'll be amazed.

The networking is worth infinitely more than what you're paying for a ticket.

Did that convince you?

Ugh. It looks like I'm just going to miss being able to buy a ticket. :( I'm going to have money sometime in the end of November. So close. Maybe I'll get on the waitlist? Lesson learned about having money available for awesome opportunities, though.

Alright so called in to book, here is what I got:

Thursday and Sunday are completely sold out for the group discount (so these nights you are looking at $299).

An executive corner suite, with a group discount or not is $339.

So I booked for Friday and Saturday, which means I would need to fly in Friday morning and leave Sunday night. This just sounds bad. Would anyone recommend taking an extra day Thursday or Monday, or even both?

Did the same thing. Booked the Friday and Saturday. Will be cutting it close, but it's worth it.

I feel ya. I actually just called back and added Thursday and Sunday night. My birthday will be that Sunday so I figured I should have some birthday fun after the event is over. Might cut a bit deeper into the pockets, but hey, haven't traveled anywhere yet this year and I don't want to rush in and out.

Some fly out Sunday but I regretted doing that the first year so I stayed longer last year. In regards to Friday, I believe only 1 person I know came in Friday last year and I think they regretted that decision. I would definitely fly in Thursday (or earlier - last year some got trapped in their home states from a snow storm) and then leave Monday if possible.

I see you have already decided to change your reservation but maybe this will help someone else.

One quick suggest I have that worked very well at a large meetup (250 people) I recently attended in Bangkok.

For 2 of the days, we had breakout sessions with many different presenters/speakers - and you got to choose which one you sat in on. They were almost mini-masterminds, and they were repeated twice per day so you could make sure to attend the ones you wanted.

This broke up the monotony of speakers presenting for three days straight, and it also let you choose which was the most relevant to your business.

Just a suggestion that I thought worked really well and was very happy with.

Yup everyone that leaves Sunday regrets it. it's the time to slow down that is really needed. thursday night dinners and sunday night dinners are usually ad-hoc and really fun.

My Wife recently attended a conference where there were several "classes" a day for 2 days. Attendees chose the ones they wanted to attend.

Just booked a executive king east room from Thurs/Mon. Quoted $315 a night.

You guys stole all of the corner suites

This will be my first conference, and I know its going to ruin my expectations for any future ones that I go to. Can't wait.
