@Red's husband is offering ATV tours so we can book it for the 15th depending on how many people he can take.

A question for locals: what's the best least crowded hiking trail around the area?

A few hours both ways would be fine. Difficulty up to moderate. Superstition Mountains look great!

I would be down for some hiking action. I'm also looking at going to the Arizona vs Montreal game. Never been to a hockey game. Wouldn't mind visiting Pangaea Land of the Dinosaurs. My flight arrives, Thursday 15th at 5:20pm.

I'll be in the Phoenix area for sure between February 13 and February 18 and then will probably go explore Arizona, Nevada and California until March 5. When will you be there?

I have a campsite at San Elijo on the bluff over the beach. Will be there from March 8-12. It is a big spot with plenty of room for a car and/or a tent. It is in San Diego, California. I go over 3 or 4 times a year to unwind. There is electricity and water on the site.

If anyone needs help fighting jet lag by the poolside, in the spa or in a bar on the 15th, I will be happy to lend a hand. Arriving 14th in the evening after 24+ hours of travel.

By the way, I got my room at the discount using the even code; I presume those rooms are collocated? Just double-checking to make sure I don't go "Hi, how's it going? Are you here for the Fastlane meetup?" to everyone I see in the hallway in vain.

The length + elevation gain is a little much for me - I could do it, but I'd be slow..... and sore.... and cranky the next day. ;-) But bring us pics when you get back!

I'm a bad photographer so even if I take some pictures they probably won't be very pretty. I like to keep a relatively fast pace and find it hard and actually more tiring to hike slowly so you're right it probably won't work.

That is a much larger and heavier piece of equipment. When I went, we took off in about 50 feet and climbed rapidly at will.

Damn, sorry to hear this. Was looking forward to seeing the man behind the mammoth progress!

I was looking forward to meeting the man who changed my life but it is what it is. It doesn't feel right at the moment for me to go. Hopefully on a different occasion, maybe something more private than the summit if I'm ever in the area.
