Lots of cool spaces here. But not a ton of papers from what I can see. Now I'm sure lots of these are cleaned and staged before pics but I'm wondering if anyone has cool hacks or products that minimize the clutter? Aside from filing cabinets or creating digital copies. Something myself and I'm sure many others would benefit from.

Thanks!

Chaotic order...aka designated clutter areas.

On desktop, 1 monitor where there's random folders and internet shortcuts. (Fences by stardock is a neat tool to use)

In the room, there's a box where all the papers go. (1 for biz, 1 for personal)

If something is truly important it makes its way out and into my system.

Not everything is worth keeping organized if it takes up too much time.

Though as of recently I got another laptop (thinkpad) and I'm able to get out of the house and go to coffeshops and such.

Calendar looks empty. What do you use it for?

I kind of like how the whole year is just laid out.

I just planned the next 12 months of inventory orders and posted it for guys in the warehouse... would be cool to see it on a calendar on the wall.

Basically this was actually a 14 month calendar since i started it in 2018. Nov 2018 - Dec 2019 and I have a goal to work at the very least, 1 hour a day. That's something that is attainable no matter what is going on. The idea is to put an X on each day that i complete my goal and to never break the chain of X's. I also do a 0 on days that I don't complete my goal. I've also got a small ammendment to it where once I do the X or 0 I ask myself: "Have I done my best today?" And I simply write yes or no in pen and it helps me stay in the game.

It looks like @Ravens_Shadow has a chain of Xs going on his calendar. I'm guessing he is keeping track of a streak of consecutive days working toward some goal, probably an X for every day he did meaningful work on his business. I think that technique is mentioned in The One Thing by Gary Keller.

Edit: It looks like I was one minute late on this.

Love it, I'd heard of seinfeld's joke writing strategy.

I have been trying one tied to results (number of units sold per day), but haven't found it motivating, because it's not something directly in my control. I can only control my input into the business. I might try something like this.

Sometimes I forget about the calendar even though it's right here. But I'm on a pretty good roll right this second :)

Definitely do it for something that *IS* in your control as it helps a ton with motivation to keep going even if only to get your X.

100% it does WONDERS for my warehouse staff. They gotta ship out X units a day this week. Every day they gotta write that number on the big whiteboard calendar.

They bust a$$ to get the big numbers on there and try to break their records.

I'm going deeper down the YT rabbit hole, so I'm working on lighting and presentation.

Any lag time on your mouse? I do this sometimes but the slight delay in mouse movement drives me nuts.

Nope! It has a low latency mode where you can turn all of the picture processing off.

I specifically chose a HDMI 2.0 TV with a computer mode. It can run 4x4x4 color crap with 4k@60htz.

For all intents and purposes it is a 50 inch computer monitor with sound... Which I believe is the correct size for 4k with no upscaling.

Nice setup... now that you've got the new build, just gotta get you onto a proper operating system :D

I run a 4K 40 inch samsung TV as a monitor and with the PC mode there's no (perceptible) input lag. I've accidentally used other modes (telling it that it's an apple tv, for instance) and the input lag is indeed unbearable.

My new setup and have little reminders like big rocks first, be aware of time robbers (from Daren Hardys Insane productivity course), eat that frog, etc.

Good thread that I've taken some ideas from so I'll add mine in.

Small simple setup with adjustable desk to improve posture. Definitely need to get a 2nd monitor soon.

Maybe move the desk away from the wall as well.
