Everyday, a forum member helps you out on the journey to Unscription.

The way I see it, they are helping you reclaim all the things that matter in life.

- Your time.
- Your autonomy.
- Your passion for life.
- Your development in something meaningful.
- Your soul.
- Your ability to be the parent who has the time to raise their kids.
- etc.

When was the last time we thanked our teachers and fellow fastlaners for this journey?

Use this thread when a forum member gives you particularly good advice or guidance.

Thank them here and thank them publicly.

In this fight for your life, be grateful for your fellow soldier.

EDIT:
Not to mention gratitude is good for you. Every major religion stresses gratitude and countless scientific studies show how it's the building block to happiness NOW.

Not to mention, taking the time to provide value to the person who helped you automatically puts you in the producer role. As fastlaners we are not consumers.

Time after time, @ZCP 's advice ALWAYS clears my brain fog. Just recently he advised me to prioritize the things that will keep me moving forward and, as a consequence of doing this, ignore that things that won't.

1702683279805.png

I don't know if he intends to do this but every time he gives me advice, it's so simple and direct that my brain is FORCED to see the implications of the advice he gives. It's like a half rep in problem solving, if that makes sense. His actionable advice can't be misinterpreted.

Use this thread when a forum member gives you particularly good advice or guidance.

Thank them here and thank them publicly.

Love it.

Starting with @MJ DeMarco as he's helped me clarify my thinking with his books first, and then created this space for us to converse and help each other. A sincere THANK YOU.

@Kak for being the youngest old wise guy I've ever met. I think he's responsible for at least 7 figures in my net worth growth from his radio show, posts and personal chats.

@Andy Black for being one of the kindest people, gifting his time to everyone on the forum. I don't do this enough, but I thank you not only for some direct one-on-one tech ideas, but even more for reading some of your greatest hits (posts) that are mind shifting. Your one-liners thread was massively helpful.

@Black_Dragon43 for challenging my thinking EVERY time. We don't always agree, but you always make me think and I am grateful for that.

@DarkKnight for this thread to provide proper perspective:

The list goes on...

@Lex DeVille for showing that you can hustle and use transferable skills to make a lot of things work. That our limit is only our creativity!

@ChrisGav for most recently making me think super hard on real estate creative structures!

@BizyDad for the typical back and forth! @MitchC for crushing it in FBA and challenging me on my take on a variety of subjects including Molly use... lol. @Shono for making push-ups fun again! The list goes on...

They all have been guiding me, it’s like when your walking down a path, at every forked path, there’s a guide, asking you where you want to arrive and helps you get there.

I have no clue how to thank all of you guys, I just hope to repay the favour eventually to new and lost forum users like me.

Thank you @Andy Black for being so selfless and always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone. Without you, I would have quit google ads a long time ago LOL.

Thank you @Johnny boy for getting me started on this whole thing and giving me advice back when I was a bum.

Thank you @The-J for all those chats about Facebook ads and other problems I had. Your advice really helped me out and we’ll have to have another meet up soon;)

And of course thank you to @MJ DeMarco for creating this awesome community. This forum is an absolute gold mine and I’ve gotten at least 5 people to sign up here.

Too many to count, this forum has brought amazing connections and wisdom into my life!

First off, the man himself, @MJ DeMarco - you changed my life. Before reading TMF , I was on a path to becoming a mediocre slowlaner who was purged with the mentality of extremely frugality. I cannot thank you enough for your books, this forum, and your overall contribution to the world of entrepreneurs. I don't know where I'd be without your work.

@Andy Black, from the moment you told me to stop lurking, to the AMAZING advice you gave me through LinkedIn DMs, I will always be extremely grateful for your contributions and willingness to help. Your contributions speak for themselves and I have no doubt that every single member on this forum is grateful that you exist.

@perchboy you inspire me bro - when we met the first time in Toronto, I saw your spark of energy and ambition to go all in on your business goals. It lit a spark in myself to kick things into the 10th degree! I really appreciate you keeping me accountable and for providing amazing advice/suggestions. You also introduced me to @ericbodrenok who has been helping us get in shape!

@The-J thanks so much for all your help, I really appreciate you giving me the time to walk through Facebook Ads. You're extremely patient (I'm definitely still a beginner) and you gave me a clear road map to move forward. I can't wait for our next call soon!

@WJK you provided me with so much sage advice for business and life, I really appreciate all that you do. I can tell you have a passion for sharing your wisdom and I cannot wait to read your book when it comes out!

@ChrisGav we just connected, and it was an absolute PLEASURE to do so! You and your colleague provided me with so much advice and wisdom - I really appreciate you taking the time to meet with me and I can't wait to continue our conversation (next time more RE focused)

@Johnny boy I feel like a criminal every time I read your posts because I'm thinking "how is this guy revealing his secrets for free?!" Kidding aside, your posts have fundamentally shifted my thinking and perspective towards my business. Most recently, you helped me look at my business as a manufacturing company with processes and constraints.

There's so many more people in this forum who I am extremely grateful for, @Envision, @Antifragile, @BizyDad, @Kak.....

Thank you for bringing a certain class and professionalism to this forum. Doing things big and doing them right.

This forum would not be what it is without you, @Kak and the others like that. It’s inspiring.

Great thread!

There are so many people to thank, I'll add a few new names to the thread.

Thank you @Walter Hay for demystifying Importing and Exporting. Thank you for the books you have written and all the questions you have answered for me. Also, thank you for being a major influence on my path as an entrepreneur.

Thank you @Spenny for helping with my current questions in regards to eCommerce and helping me better understand the different platforms. Super helpful!

Thank you @RightyTighty for the many conversations we have had on and off the forum. Very helpful to bounce ideas back and forth both in regards to inventing and business in general.

Thank you @amp0193 for suggesting I speak with @Rearden (also thank you for all your help with licensing). You helped connect me with one of the most critical pieces of my puzzle. Without that input, I would most likely be completely stuck.

Thank you @ZCP specifically when you spent time to hop on a call for the accountability call. Your talk about pushing projects forward and getting them to a point where someone else can finish the task really helped change my way of thinking for the better.

Thank you @Antifragile for also hopping on the accountability and just in general with all of your great insights. Many times, you have changed my perspective in a positive way.

Thank you @MitchC for all of the times you have provided great insights in regards to eCommerce. I know I haven't been able to execute on that insight, but I plan to in the future.

Do I even need to say it? Of course! Thank you @MJ DeMarco. Without your books, without the community you have built, I have no idea where the hell I would be. Thank you for build a community that actually provides value to so many people. For helping connect people from all over the world together, which has led to the world becoming a better place with your books and community aiding people in providing real value to the rest of the world.

Thanks for the all the tags, I woke up this morning and didn't know why I had all these tags.

I'd like to give gratitude to ANYONE here who gives of themselves here with no expectation or compensation in return.

You all have busy lives.
You all have goals.
You all could do other things.

There are givers, and there are takers.

Thanks for being the giver— and you know who you are.

As I've said many times before, when the forum acts like a socialist economy and everyone decides to TAKE, there will be no GIVERS left. And then forum implodes.

Thanks for GIVING of yourself, your wisdom, and your experience, and being the lifeblood of this place.

@MJ DeMarco for bringing this community together and maintaining the place for all of us. Also for being a thoughtful and empathetic leader, who will listen to different points of view even when he disagrees.

@Kak for helping bring me closer to the Christian faith through his example and also the resources he has privately shared with me.

@BizyDad for being a ghey politician who doesn’t answer his private messages and by far the most annoying thorn in my side :eyes: (and for having a good heart and believing in you even when you don’t believe in yourself)

@Antifragile for sharing his wisdom and stability, values that I often need more of. He’s one of the few people here who has advised me on more complex business problems / matters.

@Andy Black for being a very effective communicator, good & wise friend, and often having ideas that are surprising because of how different they are from mine. Gives me good food for thought.

There are others, but these are the people I end up interacting with most often on fastlane.

This from @Antifragile :

"If your plan is to make a $10k / mo - then consider what it would take to make $100k/mo. Say you want it in 12 months, now think how to do it in 2.

You will fail.

Why try? Because you are trying to unblock your mind. You'll create ideas you wouldn't otherwise have."

@MJ DeMarco goes without saying. The community he has fostered here is one of the most poignant in the world for entrepreneurship. I may disagree with some of the stuff publicly posted (I'm not an INSIDERS so perhaps it's different in there), but the quality of the people and their substance is unsurpassed. Thank you MJ and everybody who makes this place the goldmine it is.

@John Clancy has, by far and away, been the single biggest positive influence on my professional outlook. Not only is he an extremely kind and humble individual, who is always open to listening to anything you may have to say, his ability to comprehend & assimilate new ideas/information is profound. Without his input, I would not be anywhere near where I am presently in terms of progress. A truly profound individual who should have more of a presence here. Thank you John.

@Black_Dragon43 for continually providing a contrarian viewpoint and being unafraid to say things as he sees them. Whilst he could likely be a bit more diplomatic, the fact his observations are based on experience rather than hearsay should have hopefully given a lot of newer folks insights which can take years to accumulate. Thank you Tudor - you are one of the more valuable contributors to this community and I would hope you continue to indulge your passion for business success whilst still helping to build a positive & informative space for discourse.

Just curious, do you know John outside the fastlane? The reason why I’m asking is because I’ve only had a brief interaction with him recently on the fastlane, otherwise never came across his posts before.

I’m sure there are a lot of other golden members that most people don’t come across simply because they don’t check the type of threads they’re active in. So a thread like this is a good way to bring up all those people!

I met him through the forum. He posted that he needed a Shopify developer several years ago, I started talking to him via private message, did the work and he then started asking about the branding post I wrote.

I sent it to him, kept talking through email (a couple of times a week with random stuff), he then managed to get himself a job at a web company near to where he lives and we started talking further due to him wanting someone to do some of the work. By this time, we added each other on Skype and now talk pretty-much daily. He doesn't post on the public forum much as far as I know.

I originally reached further out to him because I saw he lived in Ireland. The UK and Ireland, whilst obviously have differences, share enough of a common culture that we are extremely close in terms of dealing with each other. Since I have some Irish ancestry, I wanted to see what his deal was.

Whilst I don't think he has many entrepreneurial stories to share (he's not an entrepreneur, more an extremely adept manager), his candour & demeanour are incredible. He hasn't "helped" me directly, more by the second-order effects of having dealt with him over a course of time. The way he conducts himself, his ability to be perceptive and the way in which he is able to bring extremely high quality people onto his side is world class. Basically, if you need something extremely complicated done, and require the services of highly talented people, he's the guy to sort it.
