I'm surprised they're even letting me on a plane with my some of my libertarian beliefs, so @Primeperiwinkle may have to get the red bull through tsa.
With a name like mine I'm dreading the arrival at sky harbour. I'm guaranteed to get grilled. I'm just hopeful they don't tell me to step in to another roll while snapping gloves on YIKES!!

I'm down. Is there a significant difference between the two locations for hiking?
Well, Superstition is a much larger area with dozens of trails at varying degrees of difficulty/ease. Camelback I believe only has 2 trails. Camelback will likely be way busier/crowded. Camelback is in the city and Superstitions on the outskirts.

If the Camelback hike is Thursday one could hike both.

Haha nice one! I was planning on renting a vehicle post summit so I can really absorb phoenix.

Fingers crossed I can squeeze in a trip to the grand canyon man :)
Great idea.

I know there are plans for hiking at Camelback and a bike ride but if anyone is not scheduled to go to that and would like to take a trip to Superstition Mountain with me let me know. Right now I’m thinking Sunday would be a great day for the hike.

That looks amazing. Put me down for that Sunday, if it is in the afternoon. I'm going on a bike ride with @SteveO in the morning.

I told everyone at work I was going camping and would be out of cell range, so I can turn off my phone. I was taking work calls on Christmas day, but it's getting turned off for the Summit

Was really looking forward to cigars with @Kak, but the brother I'm staying with in Phoenix was attacked by some kind of mutant killer fungus you guys have in AZ called Valley Fever, and I don't wanna upset his lungs with cigar stench. :clench:

Ok I've gone all mid-life crisis and just rented a Mustang convertible. I couldn't find a Miata to rent. 70 degrees on Saturday and Sunday? shiiiiiiit, I'm going on a drive and enjoying this as much as possible. Any great scenic roads out there? Maybe the paved sections of Apache trail. I need to take in some rugged beauty. Route 89a to Sedona, maybe Sunday afternoon. This is going to be great.
Be safe on your drive!

I live in San Diego, so I could drive 6 hours to the event, however, I first want to free myself from the salary addiction that I dig myself in all these years. Definitely be there next year.

Looking forwards to this meetup... Do I have to sign up for the Camelback hike?
No, just show up at the blue coyote cantina at 10:30 Thursday

I'm in for the Superstition hike. What time would you want to go? I'm not going on the bike ride so any time works for me.

I will be heading up to the Grand Canyon sometime in the afternoon though

Love the Superstitions. Far more peaceful than Camelback. I'm down if it's in the afternoon Sunday. I could take people there from the lunch/e-bike event if the timing works out

Is there any value in bringing a laptop to the conference for notes, etc.?

Sure, a lot of folks do so -- there will be an official event thread as well that people will continually update.

@MJ DeMarco, Completely off topic...For some reason I can't find the link with my ticket info. Is there a chance you can re-send?

My plan is to travel a bit through Phoenix as well, if you'd like some company (and someone to the share the renting bill with ;) ) then write me a message :D

I’m saying it right now: Phoenix is damn charming. I like this place. Been here 2 hours and @SteveO was trying to kill my quads on this hike. 30184

Seriously though it was a tremendous hike. Thanks Steve for the guidance. It was awesome.

You’re STILL on the hike?? I’m pretty jealous. I wanted to join you but my flight was delayed until 1:30PM. Glad that I met everyone so far though.
