I have a question, I will give 10 years of my life for example, to build a business. I have equal 24 hours to build any kind of business. The smart thing will be that I should build a scalable business for maximum ROI. I learnt export import business few months ago. Should I focus my 10 yeas on building this export business. The question is an export business scalable? Or should I find a pain which is not solved yet and build solution on that, like other startups?

Here we go again...

Almost every business is scalable IF you do it right.

Considering you know basically nothing, you won't make it on your first try and that's okay. As long as you learn your lessons, try alternative strategies, and keep pushing consistently, you'll eventually gain momentum.

Then, you'll build on that momentum.

My best advice - just do it. Just do anything.

It's been taking me far longer than I initally thought it will take to "get rich", but the lessons I've learned over the years are invaluable and are all increasing my leverage.

Forget about 10 years.

Set a goal for the next month, then break it down into smaller goals for each week, then answer - what can I do today to make it happen?

Don't aim for $1M, earn a dollar first, then turn it into 10, then 100, then 1000, etc.

i was reading his book millionaire fastlane , and had read it half. But now the 5 rules of business he has started teaching. I read it 3 hours ago and according to it, export business is not good as i'll have less control, as supplier decides the prices. Second the entry barrier is very very low. As i learnt export business with 100 other people by this coach paresh solanki in India. He taught 10,000 other people about how to start this business and there are many other coaches like him in India. So there will be no differentiator in this export business of millets and only price war will be there.
I will focus on finding a need and solving it now.

Don't worry about CENTS now. Start anything and you'll improve it over time.

You can starts with no CENTS and add them later - better quality products, custom production, building a team, etc.

Also don't worry about other people, most will never take the first step, let alone the thousand steps it requires to build a successful company.

Don't be one of those people. Take the first step, then the second, the third, worry only about the next step not about the step number 104836.

It’s scalable when you put in more money. Bigger players have lower import price and hence an advantage due to scale.

Not as scalable as software.

But there is usually an inverse correlation between scalability and entry. If you do an online scalable business you compete with the whole world.

This is so real.

I have had lots friends telling me they wanted to build a business

Less than half believed in themeselves being able to do it.

1/4 took the first step of learning about their business idea.

1 only was able to make SOME money.

The rest abandoned...

Lesson? Start today, have that DESIRE and as long as you dont quit you will be on top.

Ok, But I asked if export business scalable?

You're asking the wrong question.

Right question is, can you scale it? Can you even start it?

If the answer is no, move on to the next business model.

But if you really really really need an answer to this question, try and use a little common sense. Have you ever heard of an export business being scalable? If you have, then there's your answer.

If you haven't, then you should start something small.

Export Business can be divided into 2 categories:

1. Where you export a commodity/product by acquiring/manufacturing it.
2. Where you provide service to people who are doing 1 above.

It usually depends on what commodity are you going to sell in foreign markets, how are you going to sell it and how will you arrange for the finance required, along with many other factors!

Export business has a very high entry barrier due to paperwork/licensing/capital and the risk involved. Its not easy as you assume it to be.

If you want to provide services/guidance to people who are already involved in the export business, you need some experience with exports before you can provide valuable service.

Export business is highly scalable, but the question is, can you do it?

-E-commerce
-SAAS
-A traditional offline business with aging business owners and lack of succesors

Plenty of opportunities.

You don't want to give yourself an ultimatum like that, cause what if it happens in 10 years and 1 month? Just find a way to monetize what you're good at or enjoy doing.

Whatever you do, do some self reflection and pick something that you have a really good reason to want to start and bring into existence in the world, because otherwise you will quit when it gets hard.

Of course an export business is scalable, several people on this forum are doing their fastlane on commerce

But take small steps in that direction instead of envisionning the next 10 years, focus on the present

Plus, to succeed in selling stuff to people is in fine to address a need

Before putting your time and energy into a business venture, think about how it can be scaled. Profitability of export-import companies is conditional on their scalability, which is in turn affected by variables such as supply chain efficiency, regulatory hurdles, and market demand. Investigating unresolved problems that may have scalable solutions could provide a better return on investment over time.
