Started my first gig on Fiver.

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

It’s been just a couple of days on this forum, and reading the millionaire fastlane has changed my perspective towards business, and life itself. With a lot of motivation from the people in this forum.. I’ve taken the first step going from slowlane to fastlane. I’ve started a gig on Fiver. It’s just the first step but it feels good to take action rather than faking action. Wish me luck!

I'd like to start my second source of income(shouldn't have to be millions of dollars, should cover just basic expenses with 5-10% savings). I've been into digital marketing for a while, but it seems everybody's doing it, and there's nothing exclusive I could offer. Any other suggestions are welcome.

I have been working on a business my dad setup a few years ago, in which I am struggling to develop some interest. I don't really know what my passion is so there's no other way around it. I have never faced the struggle of starting a business from ground up since the current business I am working on was already setup when I joined. The question is, should I look for starting another business or should I scale my current business? Although my interest in my current business is a bit low, I still enjoying working on it. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Just a few days in this forum, and I am already getting a lot of useful advice from every single post that I read. Andy Black has been extremely helpful, and in following his advice, I am making this post.
So I am pretty good at sales and negotiations, marketing(face to face), closing deals, generating leads, creating sales opportunities, coming up with different approaches to market a product etc. I have worked in the given field for a few years, but I feel my experience there shouldn't be wasted. I am not saying I am an expert, I'm just saying I have enough experience in the field, and If I can help anyone in this forum, in any way I can..I'd be more than happy to help. If you'd like to get in touch with me, just comment on the post, and let me know how I can help you. Thank you.

I have a 3-4 year experience in the field of marketing and sales, with additional skills involving closing a deal, lead generation, cold-calling, building a sales funnel, etc. Can I start a business in any of the given field? Any other ideas to start a business in the marketing field?

Why's that?
Just break it to your pop gently that you won't be scaling his business & instead you'll be side hustling on fiver.

What a waste of all the talents you proclaim to possess.

I don't have any clients on fiver as of now, can't break it to him YET. Any advice on getting started with clients on fiverr?

I hire off Upwork for years and fiver just recently.
When you get started try to route all your business through them so your ratings/reviews go up.
Just keep in mind that if your looking for control you don’t have much there. If it were me I would look at it as an opportunity to meet clients connect with them. Show them what your capable of

Eventually you would want to develop such a relationship with your client that they call or email you directly when they have a problem.

What kind of work do you do if I can I’ll invite you to a job.

Well done on getting started.

The most important thing with Fiver, like other similar freelance websites, is gaining initial reviews to generate social proof for your service you're offering. (also, the algorithm probably has you on page 237 for the service your providing if it isn't hyper niched!)

Try using the 'apply for gigs' service. You'll see loads of custom gigs from sellers, and you can submit an offer here if your service fits their needs. It worth taking some time to customize your message when applying for gigs; don't send out one big 'copy and paste' text to every potential client.

You make have to dig in for a bit and get your first clients by offering a lot of work for a low price, but remember, this is just part of the process.

p.s. think about making your gig more specialized. Instead of offering sales for anyone and everyone, position yourself as a sales and marketing expert in fitness. This will help you ask for a higher price in the future. Good luck!
