Haha. They write that junk so we can stand out..

Ugh...this is literally the Linkedin profile of the CMO of a freakin' billion-dollar hotel.

"[NAME -3rd person] is an award-winning marketing executive distinguished as a strategist, a deliverer of results and a developer of talent. Recognized as a leader with strong consumer intuition, analytical horsepower, and the ability to drive strategic alignment within complex organizations. An ROI-minded marketer with a passion for prioritization, business optimization and creative approaches to tackling challenges."

WTF does that mean...

How is this person a "marketer?"

In their defense, I'm sure their legal team stifles any sort of personalization...but please don't put crap like this in your Linkedin if you want clients to call you...

@EarlOfChina , this is my first thread to watch. You're a great teacher: I love the screen caps to accompany this, and you explain at length. Can't wait to really up my B2B game up on LinkedIn. Have you thought about teaching courses or explaining how to optimize on other social media vehicles?

Thanks OP. As someone who’s sucks at public speaking, this video message method should keep things interesting for me.

Are there any examples available of these video messages that you send out?

Sorry if I missed it but curious what you typically spend on your ad campaigns. Do you also get quite a few deals closing just based on the video approach (I'm assuming yes)? Have a couple clients I'm considering this strategy for.

I like this, but I might not run any paid ads at the beginning. Do you think doing a video message without embedding a pixel is a bad idea?

I'm not going to try close them in the video, only offer value upfront and then let them know that they can contact me anytime if they'd like to know more.

Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot! Courses could be a good idea. I just can't help but feel like it's a very saturated space with a LOT of people making a LOT of noise.

Really like @Lex DeVille's courses though. They are brilliant and super niche.

Thanks OP. As someone who’s sucks at public speaking, this video message method should keep things interesting for me.

I've not got examples to hand, but I keep it very conversational and relaxed. Frankly make it as personal as possible:

"Hey <NAME>, how's it going?

Thanks so much for accepting my connection request. I've been checking out <THEIR COMPANY NAME> and love what you're doing. I've just followed you on Instagram.

I do a lot of <SERVICE TYPE> so, if you ever want to pick someone's brains about that, I'd be happy to help.

Hope to chat soon!"

I dunno - something like that? Do a lot, experiment, and see which kinds of messages resonate best!

Sorry if I missed it but curious what you typically spend on your ad campaigns. Do you also get quite a few deals closing just based on the video approach (I'm assuming yes)? Have a couple clients I'm considering this strategy for.

On the retargeting, I LITERALLY spend $2 per day and EVERYONE I meet tells me they see my ads everywhere. Best $2 a day every spent!

You can also try https://linkedhelper.com/ It helps me on daily work in B2G lead management.

I use this myself. Bloody brilliant.

Embed the pixel. ALWAYS get the data incase. PLUS - as I said above, I spend $2 per day on ads. I KNOW you can afford that. You're reaching your EXACT target audience!!!!

I can't seem to embed the pixel without paying/subscribing for premium. Is there a workaround?

I mean $40 a month isn't terrible, but I feel like there would be a service that would allow one to do this without that fee? Perhaps I'll look more into it...

Oh - are you talking about on Dubb?

Are you sending out the same video every time, or a unique video for every person?

Can you give an update on the results of your Linkedin strategy?

Unfortunately, I have personally been quite lax about it the past few months. I am still putting out connection requests every day, but at the moment when people connect, I'm just sending a note with a general promo video.

I will defo keep this thread updated, especially when I'm back to going full speed ahead with it.

Yeah, I was trying with dubb. I see there is a 14-day trial and then it requires a paid subscription.

And yeah, I was doing a unique video for every person. I offer a lot of free personalized value upfront so I thought a personalized video would be nice as well. Should I be sending the same video to everyone?

Thanks for the info, Earl. I just started my LinkedIn strategy to get leads. This will help out a lot as it gives me a few more options.

in b2b sales and can confirm this still is the way to go (kind of).

Definitely recommend dropping cash for sales navigator. It has better search functions (still not great though)

Yeah, totally depends how specific you need to be. For me, using keywords like "OWNER" "DIRECTOR" "FOUNDER" in my industry is enough, so I don't use sales navigator personally.

@EarlOfChina how do you spend $2 per day on ads on linkedin? It wont allow me to go below $10 per day

Is this based on how we narrow down our target demographic?

I'm confused - the title says "Crushing" but you mention its "early days" in the post?

Since it was written in Dec 2018 - what's the latest?

I like LinkedIn (don't use it for outreach myself) but I find it to be spammy. What's your take on it?

Right now I am just running retargeting ads on Facebook to those people who clicked through to my videos. And yes, you can do a few $ per day on Facebook :)

My take on it is that following this strategy I have built a network of 6.5k business owners in the EXACT industry I am targeting, and so far have scaled this side of my business from zero to a monthly recurring revenue of over $10k using a TINY ad spend.

Every time I post something on LinkedIn it gets thousands of views from my exact target market.

For a seasoned entrepreneur, maybe this sounds like no big deal. But for someone on the sidewalk, using this strategy can really take them to the next level.

Take it or leave it. I am just trying to share what I'm doing and add some value.

No, I don't think you've quite understood.

I connect with them, on LinkedIn. When they accept I send them a message with a video link on DUBB. Then, they get retargeted on Facebook - because the Facebook pixel captures their details on the DUBB page.

Make sense?

Sorry, let’s see if I can simplify:

Send Dubb videos on LinkedIn
Send promo videos on Facebook

Correct?

Okay I see which part I missed.

After you send the videos, you collect the retargetting audience using a Facebook pixel, primarily.

My final question is... what does this mean mechanism wise? When I read that, I don’t understand how to do it physically. Sorry man I feel retarded right now lol

Is this something I can just ask the dubb guys? I’d much rather bother them with a dumb question if it means I can understand it better.

Ok so basically.

Let's say that you send me a connection request on LinkedIn, and I accept. You'll then send me a personalised video message via LinkedIn. When I click the link and go through to the video on DUBB, a piece of code called the "Facebook Pixel" recognises me as a Facebook user and puts me on your "retargeting" list. Now, when I browse Facebook, Instagram, and other apps/websites I will see your ads around the web.

Make sense?

Obviously, this all has to be set up - but it's fairly simple to figure out ;)
