Hey my Name is Giovani, you guys and gals can call me Gio though. A little bit about myself before I ask you FastLaners a few questions.

I currently work as a line cook in fast food. Everyday I wake up and put on that uniform and it reminds me of how bad I want to leave this all behind. Its exhausting mentally, physically and spiritually.
Ive made it my goal to be self employed by the end of this year.
After reading "The Millionaire Fastlane" It changed my perception on how money is made.
I decided to get into selling formation products. I feel it is fairly easy to create information products with all the free information available on the internet and in books. But what is holding me back is I hear people say "you shouldnt create info products on topics you know nothing about" For example I want to create an info product for entrepreneurs. But in your opinion would it be un-ethical to create a product on entrepreneurship even though ive never owned a business or make alot of money. Im very interested in the entrepreneur niche I love it but Dont want to come off as a scammer. In "The Millionaire Fastlane" he talked about how some people take old products and just modify it or put a new spin on it, Thats something I want to do
Do you think this is un-ethical ?
Any response would be awesome Thanks for reading in advance :)
Have an awesome day !! and stay awesome !

Yes, but beyond that, the market is going to severely punish your ignorance. That's the thing about ethics: Not always, but generally, you will be punished severely for violating them, not just socially, but in the wallet.

In this case, you may conceptually know, from reading books by millionaires and billionaires, how to make millions. You may have an idea. You feel like you've got a handle on it. You're 98% sure you've got it.

But 2% of your genes is all that separates you from an orangutan. That last little bit, the little difference between the line cook and the retired millionaire, it's in that little 2% that all the difference lies.

You want to make millions? Think about the most pain in the a$$ thing about your job, figure out a way to ease that pain or automate it, get a provable prototype running, turn around and sell it to your boss and his competition, and retire.

I don't think it's unethical. Unethical would be you selling selling information you know doesn't work.

For the most part, I'd say I'd rather take advice from someone who has done it before over someone who just teaches it. However, there is something to be said about people who can teach people to be successful, despite not being successful in the subject they teach. For example, a good professional basketball coach (who never played professional basketball) might help professional basketball players improve their game more than Michael Jordan. Teaching is a skill in itself, and if you can somehow help someone succeed where someone who's been successful already couldn't, I think that's reason enough to do it. For the majority though, I'd personally prefer someone who's been there, done that.

What you could do is take the advice you've learned from other sources, act on it to learn in first person, and then create a product. At least you have experience with the concepts you teach. That way you don't feel like you're being unethical.

MJ talks about how many slow lane gurus are guilty of the paradox of practice, where the method they teach to get rich is not the same method they leverage. I feel like you would be guilty of this same paradox. However if you learned enough about a specific topic within entrepreneurship and were well versed on that particular area whatever it may be, then you have every right to teach people about the knowledge you have. Just my 2 cents.

How would you feel if you bought someone's course, book, etc on how to make money, and then found out they hadn't earned a dime from anything except that?

Cheated? Pissed off? Lied to?

Or a different question. Would you even buy it if they had no history of success?

Regardless of anyone's opinion on this forum, though likely very sound in logic, you should give your idea a shot. Try and make some informational products and see if you can sell them. Do a small sample and see if you can find anyone who is interested.
No matter what happens I guarantee you will learn something, and you will have taken action. One thing this amazing group of people have taught me is that you can spend an eternity bouncing around ideas but nothing happens until you start taking real measurable action.

Failure is good because it means you are learning. Who knows, you might succeed? Nobody will know until you try it.

Is Tai Lopez unethical? Maybe? Maybe not? Some people love what he's doing some people hate it. Either way he's a rich guy everyone wants to be.

Anything can be turned ethical or unethical based on a different perspective. Is McDonalds unethical for selling food that is terrible for you and increasing obesity worldwide or ethical for donating millions of dollars to charity?

IMO if you help people and they give you money for it then who cares??

People sell info products in subjects they aren't an expert in all the time.

That's what "marketers" do, but I don't think it's as easy as we may be led to believe - in the same way I don't think it's easy to make money from just being intimate with a subject (the whole "follow your passion" advice).

Personally, I feel the way things are going with video marketing and live streaming that the people who'll do best in sales are the ones who intimately know the subject matter and can talk about it all day long and field live questions.

Not only will they know the material better than someone selling something they haven't lived, but they can help their customers beyond what's in their initial info product.

"Whoever can pay the most to acquire a customer wins." (Dan Kennedy)

Sooo... your initial info product is just the initial sale that should be there to help you acquire *customers* (people with a custom of buying from you - aka Repeat Business).

What else can you offer people who've bought your info product?

If you get people into your email list, what regular valuable content can you send them?

What stories can you tell them?

It's doable, but why go into a highly competitive market at a massive disadvantage?

Does that make smart business sense?

Does this smack a little of "follow your passion" to you?

How many other people who've just started their entrepreneurial journey are also trying to sell their info product summarising what they've learned so far?

How will you rise above this noise, especially when the people who *have* risen above this noise are either excellent business operators or excellent marketers?

Some thoughts:

Document your journey? Leave bread-crumbs for people to follow along behind you?

Here's my own example:

Produce something every time you consume something? (Write up your takeaways from something you read or listened to?)

Consider spending your money on diesel and coffee:

Most of all, genuinely help people and start with the people nearest to you.

My favourite business quote is by Mother Theresa:

"Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest to you."

Please, figuring out how to turn $500 into $503.50 after 1 year is a total waste of time.

There is no "good investment" for $500 other than saving it for future options.

Once you start accumulating then you can worry about investing. Until then, it's an action fake. Accumulation is your first goal, investing is later.

Take a look at Tai Lopez

Are you being serious?

I thought he had a bad rep around here.

Maybe I'm wrong.
Bad rep for being a Fastlaner drawing Sidewalkers in with babes (who are just rented models), mansions and cars (rented) and scratch-the-surface content marketing and resources. Very artificial and not focused.

'Good' rep for his Fastlane skills of selling and marketing himself so well that the bad looks good, and the lie becomes true. A further analysis of his ad inventory spammage and his video campaigns should prove that.

BTW, @wade1mil , your featured game looks awesome. Very tempted to buy. I wonder if it could be made online, or at least a flash game like RDPD's cashflow game....:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here's what "successful" infomarketers won't tell you: they ALL pay (a lot) for leads; if they EVER stop promoting themselves (paying for advertising) their "businesses" DIE; infomarketing is one of the most competitive markets in the world with the worst quality customers; and they are NOT as wealthy as you may think they're. In other words, they don't build brands nor businesses so their grow potential is minimal; they don't make money using their techniques but selling them to other marketers (like in a pyramid scheme).

If you had to create a thread to ask people here if it's unethical or not, don't you think you already have the answer and you're only seeking self-confirmation?

Health, wealth and dating are the 3 biggest markets and unless you're willing to pay for advertising or doing blackhat stuff forget about them because they're so saturated that you'll be wasting a lot of time for no results.

Even if you're doing it for the "learning experience", well, why don't you choose something you have winning chances so you learn AND have some cashflow going?

If there's a single brain cell in you thinking that what you're doing is wrong I can guarantee that you won't succeed AT ALL because you will self-sabotage your efforts every time.

Just put your need-seeking-goggles on, what's happening around you that you could solve or do better?
Do you want to do something on the Internet? What's your perception telling you, what problem/s are you noticing a lot? Is there a product that you can promote or create to help people?

Take a look at this thread: GOLD - How to Make $1,000 a Week with no Degree, no Feedback, & no Portfolio.

If you're going to sell stuff on the Internet you need to sharpen your copywriting skills, there is some great info there.

Study stuff from Gary Halbert and Ted Nicholas, the best copywriters in the world, they'll ignite your salesmanship.

The thing is, if what you're selling is crap and you know it's crap you probably won't make money OR you won't make as much as you could because your focus will be minimized by your mind trying to somehow solve an internal battle about what's right or wrong.

You may think that is worthy but as Stephen Covey used to say "the good is the enemy of the best".

P.S.: Yeah if you haven't read "The 7 habits of the highly effective people" do it because it's a must.

Go for it. Take any action. Just don't break the law.

You'll learn something along the way and it will open other doors. I've had so many dumb ideas that turned into better ideas. Example: I wanted to start a gonzo porn company when I was 18 (I would be the male talent) so I bought a video camera and a microphone, then I realized it was a REALLY bad idea before shooting a porno. I still had the equipment so I started a YouTube prank channel because I already had the equipment. Didn't make much but it was so much fun being a mini celebrity on campus.
