With the many posts about ‘guru’s’ on YouTube which provide no value I thought it will be valuable to the community to provide a list with channel recommendations you DO want to follow.

I asked some longtime members for feedback, thanks so far for all the responses!
More suggestions are welcome and if valuable, I will edit the list. Also add why you like the channel.

When I used to watch youtube,
Hamza
Biaheza
1stman

Were guys I liked watching. 1stman is a bit egotistical but otherwise a good guy
Hamza has phases where he sometimes is great and then gets sucked into a rabbit hole. He also say some questionable things about the past.

Biaheza is just funny and a dropshipping youtuber who doesn't scam you and has valuable videos.

I will check them out @Subsonic. Do you believe they have real value to the fastlane community with their material?

I want to keep the list Only Quality Producers (OQP). Thanks for the suggestions!

For fitness and nutrition, I'd recommend watching Jeff Nippard.

https://www.youtube.com/@JeffNippard

His channel is dedicated to providing science-based training and nutrition information, so every video is based on past research and experiments.

In the general development category, I recommend Lex Fridman's podcast

https://www.youtube.com/@lexfridman

He covers broad subjects and he interviews the biggest players in their respective fields, whether business, AI, sciences, arts and so on, and always has pertinent questions that expand upon the topics they discuss. Plenty of food for the mind.

Great idea for a thread. We've a few for podcasts and books. I can't remember a thread listing YouTube channels people recommend.

You're not going to be able to update the opening post after a while. That's just how the forum software works if you're not a mod.

Maybe rename it something like "What YouTube channels do you recommend and why?"
... where you ask people to reply with their suggestions?

This will keep the thread alive, get people to add their ideas, start conversations, and means you don't have to keep updating the opening post.

AI and neurosciences have been a few of my focuses in the past years (plenty of future-proofing and they present long-term investment opportunities), so any talk that is related to them as he has multiple podcasts that covers the subjects either briefly or in detail, but overall it's hard to say "favorite" since he always has heavyweights invited to his podcast, and they all hit hard in their own way.

It's a bit like asking what's my favorite food with all the foods that I love on the table. *starting to slowly implode under the weight of his own embarassment of riches* :D

Then let me rephrase the question. Which podcast can you directly put into action for your own Fastlane journey? Did you do this? How? What did you learn?

Nice bits Lex :clap::

Thank you for the tag!

Best in slot for fitness is Dr. Mike Israetel:

I also like:

Best bodybuilding advice is to follow what people did in the golden era.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a legend. I've learned a ton from listening to his interviews: both bodybuilding and entrepreneurship - how to develop a winner mindset.

Much obliged, as for your question: I'm still not "baptized" enough in the mindset of Fastlaning in order to give a pertinent answer, it's been only 1-2 days since I discovered MJ DeMarco, I haven't even read the books yet (but definitely planning to) give me a month or two to be able to give a proper reply to this excellent question.

If Fastlane would have a scale from 1-10, I'd probably be at a 0.1. For now.

For now skip video's and other stuff. Focus on Ultra Learning the books.
It will lay a great groundwork to work from. Trust me the books are gold and will change your life.

My suggestion is to remove these channels since they give bad or harmful advice.

I used to follow their advice and it cost me a lot of lost time and frustration.

Thanks for the Feedback constant. Can you elaborate on you lost time and frustration
Want the list to be as valuable as possible to all Fastlane members.

you're the second one about Athlean, will remove this one.
Gregdouchette was a recommend from @heavy_industry.

I think the thing that is very underrated on YouTube for our community of entrepreneurship here is people that don't actually have YouTube channels but are still very successful.

For example, Jason Cohen of WP Engine. He is not a YouTuber, and he does not have much financial incentive in giving advice. I think interviews with CEO's of genuinely successful companies who do not rely on YouTube are very interesting.

I also think people underestimate the amount of advice out there in interviews from billionaires like Charles Koch or Chamath P..

If you look up the interviews for some of those guys, they're getting like a few thousand views..

Yet a grant cardone and jordan belfort podcast has 2.7 million views.

There is even gold-mines of interviews just lurking around on youtube with barely any views of people like @Antifragile spreading real entrepreneurial wisdom.

Within this untouched sector of the internet, is a bunch of highly successful people who could care less if a video of them gets 1 view or a million, because they're already successful.

I've never once heard someone recommend a Bernard Arnault interview..

Here are some recommendations from my subscriptions list.

I like Sam Ovens' old videos for mindset/productivity advice. His long-form videos in particular always get my thinking right and I rewatch them quite often.

This newer channel helped me get into the flow state more often when working (he also posts tons of YouTube shorts, which I find ironic).

Speaking of flow states and focus, Jason Lewis (Mind Amend) puts out the best deep work music on YouTube, period. I put on one of his tracks and suddenly hours have gone by without me noticing... and my to-do list for the day is done.

For no-fluff fitness advice, I usually watch Geoffrey Verity Schofield and Alex Leonidas.

I like how they follow the methods of the old-school bodybuilding greats - but also experiment with different training techniques on their own and then share their experiences. (As opposed to the Huberman copycats who just regurgitate a bunch of studies and spit them back at you.)

Michia Rohressien -> YouTube, Founder of Prodigy Software. He's good some really good content. Though he speaks about getting VC stuff.

Noah Kagan -> YouTube, Twitter. Founder of Appsumo. Alex Hormozi is good to follow, but I'm following the lead of Noah's comment he made about Alex on showing proof he actually made $100m. Noah's statement was trust, but verify a person's work.

Kara Goldin -> Podcast The Kara Goldin Show. Founder of Hint.com a water bottle company she started and become an accidental entrepreneur. She follows me on Twiter (Small flex haha! Jk :). Her content is good, DTC brand, her book is good as well)

CoffeeZilla of course on the discovery of Crypto Scams, etc.

And the Almighty GOAT (James Jani)

Another honorable mention. Rob Walling, he's got some good stuff on SaaS (Sold Drip his company to LeadPages). He's got a book on how you could create your own SaaS.
