Hello friends,

How many of you know the differences between cost per click and pay per click activities? These two have different aspects and I want to know the awareness among people for these incredible marketing methods.

OK, I'll bite.

I thought pay-per-click (PPC) was the method of paying for ads, and cost-per-click (CPC) was how much we pay for each click?

We could be paying for ads using method cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM) and still calculate our CPC.

Curious how you're defining PPC and CPC, and what you think makes them incredible.

PPC = Method you're charged on (You pay when someone clicks on your ad)
CPC = Just a metric that shows you how much you actually pay for one click, wether you use Pay per click or Pay per impression

So somehow they are the same? CPC is just a sample or estimated metrics for users to consult?

PPC is just "You'll pay every time someone click on your ad".

CPC is just a number indicating how much you pay per click, whether you pay per click or per impression

Situation 1:
I run ads on Google, which is a Pay Per Click (PPC) system. I got charged every time someone clicks on my ad. My CPC is $1, meaning that every time someone clicks on my ad, I'll pay $1 to Google. It doesn't matter how many times my ad is shown, I'll only pay when people click.

Situation 2:
I run ads on Facebook, which is (mainly) a Pay Per Impression system. I got charged every time my ad is displayed to someone. My CPC is $1, meaning that on average I have to spend the equivalent of $1 in impression to get one click.

Cost-per-click means that you pay for each click on your advertisement, that is the highest amount that you are willing to pay for a click on your advertisement.
Pay-per-click is an online advertising model in which an advertiser pays a publisher every time an advertisement link is clicked on. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Twitter Ads are the most popular platforms for this.
