The dream of owning a house that is (un)realizable

Hi all,

How to buy a house with a very low salary?

So, I've been trying for years to buy a house without a loan, but unfortunately it's not possible, because I have very little income and I pay a lot for renting an apartment.

I need about 100,000 EUR for a house, but I can't buy it because my salary is only 1,500 EUR and I pay 750 EUR for an apartment, and the cost of living has gone up, I can't even buy a car for myself. That's how it is, apartment prices have skyrocketed. I mean more precisely about renting an apartment, so what I found is really cheap.

I had a plan to buy a building land for 50,000 EUR and then build slowly, but unfortunately I can't afford that either.

I can't get a loan because I have a very low income.I asked the bank and unfortunately they can't grant me a loan.

So I'm helpless. The only solution is to move to a smaller place where I would pay for an apartment, maybe around 500 EUR, and then I could eventually make something.

I am 33 years old, male, and an ordinary worker

My parents worked hard all their lives to raise me and my brother on the right path, and they succeeded, but they didn't manage to have their own house, which is still their wish.

I have always wanted to have own house, my own roof over my head. I lived my whole youth with my parents in a wooden house, to be more precise (XXXXX for 4 of us in 60 square meters) until I moved out. And I always wanted to have a small house where I could live with my parents. They are on the ground floor and me and my brother are upstairs, and that I have a small yard where I can plant something, some fruit, and that I finally have what I always wanted in life, which is to have a dog and a rabbit. Yes if I play with them in the yard then my life would be filled with happiness, but unfortunately that is unfulfillable with today's situation because wages are low and living expenses are expensive.

And because of all that, I also suffer from depression, because not meeting my goal affected my mental health.

Does anyone know any expert advice on how to achieve my goal of buying a house?

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Some ideas: Start a business utilizing skills/assets you already have, get a new job / extra job, manipulate your income temporarily through some arrangement to qualify you for a loan, go to a new city/country temporarily for more lucrative work, find a spouse/partner/friend/family member to split the cost with, buy a car/van/mobile home and live in that for a while, find a seller willing to accommodate your financial limitations

Spending half your income on rent is not good. You need to increase income or decrease living cost, preferably income of course.

Change your language.

Remove "I can't" from your vocabulary.

Instead of saying, "I can't," start saying, "How can I?"

Your subconscious will start working on the problem and start finding solutions.

If your self-identity is "I'm helpless and everything I want is impossible to get," then yeah - that's going to be demoralizing. Of course that's going to affect your mental health.

This forum is about finding better solutions than working a slowlane or sidewalk job. In a slowlane job, of COURSE you're going to be limited.

How can you increase your income? Be creative.

How can you reduce your expenses? Be creative.

You can do more than you think you can.

Your language is indicative of severe depression, learned helplessness, and victim mindset.

Fortunately, you're in the right place to get the knowledge required to change this. The first goal should be to change your life perspective, and hopefully you will realize that goals such as buying a house are much more doable than you think.

PS: Don't get a loan.
Fastlane is about FREEDOM, and getting a loan to buy a house and work like a slave for 30 years is the opposite of that.

Biophase already asked what your skills are.

I guess you have an internet connection and computer to go along with your excellent English and powerful Why.

It sounds like you should focus on increasing your revenue. You'll be able to get a mortgage a year or so after you're paying yourself enough from a business (or higher paying job).

Maybe start freelancing and take it from there?

Check out MJ's video (and the first couple of rows in my signature):

Also consider professional help for depression, and speaking to your family who you clearly love.

yes that*s its true, that I have been suffering from depression for years and have been taking antidepressants. Depression is a f*cked up thing, it prevents you from moving on.Because why do I only see the negative? Because a lot of ugly things happened to me in the past and I don't see the positive in it, and that's the catch.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I love my family and I would like to own a house one day, even though they are already elderly people, but I would like to enable them to do what they have always dreamed of, which is to have their own wife, not to live at 63 in a house made of wood, more specifically barracks.

By the way, I am a porter by profession.

Depression is not just a f up thing.
It's one of the most horrific things a human being can experience.

Which means that it's your personal responsibility to make everything you can to overcome it and come back to full health. Otherwise you won't be able to achieve anything else, it's just not going to happen.

Treatment options:
  • Medication
  • Therapy
  • Mindset shifting
  • Hard training
  • Anti-inflammatory diet
  • Proper sleep
  • Cold baths
  • Light therapy
  • Hiking in nature
  • etc.
I'm not saying any of those things will singlehandedly cure your depression, but there is strong scientific evidence that those things have a tremendous impact on your well being, with many anecdotes of people that have made a full recovery and are now living a healthy and productive life.

Do anything and everything you can to fix your problem, because nobody deserves to suffer like this.

Thank you for your support. The worst thing is when you work 12 hours every day and you have nothing. Unfortunately, the jobs of security guards and porters are poorly paid, i.e. underpaid.

It's been like that for years and it doesn't change.

Of course, I take antidepressants and go to psychotherapy.
The worst thing is when you only see the negative.
Here I decided to go work in the IT industry as an IT specialist or customer service, but I can't even do that because I need a school, college, etc.

And I don't have that, because I'm an electromechanic by profession.
And I know a lot about computers, I fixed all my neighbors' computers, but that all falls apart when you need school, paper is valued today, even if you don't know anything about it, but if you have paper(diploma), you can get a job anywhere.

And nobody gives me a chance, even though I have experience in that, but without papers I'm nobody and nothing... and how can he look positively? How?
Now, at the age of 33, I have to go to fax or requalify and that will last 3 years...and which employer will accept me at the age of 36?....It is a painful reality....you have to look realistically. And in those 3 years that I will lose at the fax machine or at another school, I could work somewhere in the IT sector and earn good money for those 3 years, but there are always some limitations. That's how it is today.

@Samke you get what you accept.
you must change your expectations OR change your reality.
changing your reality starts with your own mindset .....

and that is the key spot. you going to roll over and play dead and take it? OR find a F*cking way to make your life better?

that's it. there is no secret sauce or step by step plan. you have to DECIDE you are going to find a F*cking way or die F*cking trying. Decide. Don't cross the line below until you do.

------------------------
Welcome to the light. First, spend some time being thankful. What IS good in your life? what are you proud of? what brings you joy? focus your energy in that warmth. let it build you up and recharge you.

then get to work. Find some way to turn 1 EUR into 2 EUR. Find a way. Not a job. Not more work. Find a way. As if your life depends on it. You have to want it MORE than you want to breathe. Find a way.

You are strong. You have an awesome community here behind you. Start listing ideas and finding 'how can i'. Let's go!

The depression is the very first thing you have to solve right now. Nothing positive will happen unless you solve this first.

My suggestion: start with this amazing book by Michael A. Singer: The Untethered Soul. I will put everything in the right perspective for you. Next, read Mindset by Carol Dweck. Keep us updated here on your progress. You should be able to finish these books in 2 weeks maximum.

Once you have read both books you should be able to slowly work towards a positive mindset. Only then you will realize that everything is still possible on your age.

  • Learning for a job in IT at 33? People are successfully switching to IT at 50 years old.
  • No money for education? There are too many online resources available for free or a small payment. Time is your only limitation.
  • Starting a business? People are starting businesses at all ages.
If you are physically and mentally well you will have a world full of opportunities.

ps: I'm not qualified to provide medical advice so please always refer to a specialist.

If I was in a room that was the temperature of your iq plus your testosterone levels, I would be slightly warm. Lmao

In the spirit of being helpful you should go get your blood work done, and then change probably about 500 other things about your life since your attitude is very very messed up.

If you don't have anything smart to say, then don't even write and don't pollute this beautiful forum with your "poor smartness".

It appears you cannot take any criticism. No wonder you're depressed and miserable.

This forum isn't your problem, it's you. Until you realize that, you'll never escape the personal hellscape you've created. Most people here are here to help you. Sadly, you're temperament is incapable of receiving any kind of help, it seems you want "pats on the back" and shared victimhood. You'll probably find that at Reddit, not here.

I'll delete your account promptly (per your request) as soon as I return to the office.

"poor smartness".
you dont know this user. you have no idea about this user. He is young and killing it. yes he has style of communicating but you need to get a high dose of reality and recalibrate your thoughts and come up with a 1/5/10 plan.

I try to be constructive if there’s potential but some people should spend their time on r/antiwork instead of an entrepreneur forum

but I can't buy it because my salary is only 1,500 EUR

You could learn dozens of skills to double/triple/10x this income within one year.

Imagine, for example, taking a bunch of video editing courses (or free tutorials) and then offering this skill. There was someone on this forum recently who I recommend to offer video editing as an ad on here, and they just landed @MJ DeMarco as a client, and I signed up also. They are already making like 1-2k a month, and they just started a week ago.

Or you could do copywriting... or email systems... or run ads for businesses...

The goal isn't to learn how to use 1500/month well to survive.
It's to learn how to make way more and thrive.

And you can't take @Johnny boy 's reply cause you know it hits home emotionally.
Go skill up and stop feeling sorry for yourself. There are zero excuses.

Wow. Now I see the problem.

What's so special about your intelligence and IQ? Do you know that even highly intelligent people can make unbelievably stupid mistakes? Why are you above any criticism?

You've received nothing but compassion and good advice on this thread, and you proceeded to ignore all of it and kept victimizing yourself.

And then you received just one negative comment, just one. And you immediately requested your account to be deleted?!

It's just very sad, but now I understand that most people live the life that they deserve, because that's the life that they are creating for themselves every single day.

“Why would you post something like that you’re just going to get a lot of dudes telling you the truth and it’s going to hurt his feelings”

Yes,please delete my account.

Goodbye

Dude, deleting your account in this forum because some random dude was blunt with you about your issues will probably end up being the biggest mistake you'll ever make.

Nobody here really cares about your feelings. They might be empathetic towards your situation, but if you want people to sugarcoat their words and throw you a pity party, you are free to experience that in the corporate world and Reddit.

You only get the cold hard truth here. And the truth often hurts.

Change hurts too. And you'll have to go through a LOT of change if you are to turn your life around.

And don't think for a second that everyone here just randomly became successful and pleased with their lifestyle. Practically everyone here has gone through many, many hurdles - whether that's financial, health, or otherwise, and they're being hard on you because they know your mentality is causing a negative chain reaction to everything you've done, are doing and will ever do.

Now, you can continue being miserable for an indefinite amount of time (likely forever) and externalize blame for every single thing that doesn't go well...

OR you can stick around, read the GOLD threads (a LOT of answers lie there!), and interact with the members of one of the best communities on the Internet. And when things suddenly begin to "click", you're likely to find yourself in a much better place both mentally and financially.
