I've been thinking the last few days about what my goal here should be. I'm only going to track one metric: 20 calls dialed to relevant prospects per day. There's detail that I could provide with that, but in the spirit of this thread, I'm not going to. That's the only metric I care about in my business right now.

20 calls per day.

Apologies in advance because I'm going to post my # of calls each day. I'll summarize actual results every friday. After a month, I'll reevaluate things and make adjustments as needed.

Thanks for the kick in the butt...

8 calls today ... this is more difficult and time consuming than I thought.
IMO, as long as the calls have good responses and the prospect is really interested in you, that he wants to take more time to talk more on it, I think its fine.

Keep gaining onwards!

You have to break the process into stages because if you only judge yourself and make calls based on number of full length calls you will burn out quick.

A proper goal when starting is: "I will make 50-100 calls today and my target improvement is to connect with 15 decision makers for 5-10 minutes and close 10 of them on their email address and follow up call the next day. Last week my numbers(I bet you're not tracking your numbers yet, create a google sheet right meow) were 10 decision makers for 100 calls and i spoke with them for 4.375 minutes on average. 5 gave me their email address and setup a time to speak the next day."

Now you can track progress and gain momentum and confidence as your numbers quickly go up day to day, week to week, month to month. Since i have started my numbers have rarely declined but if i did not track every single detail I would have no clue if i am up down or sideways. By the time it would be reflected in my bank account it would have been to late to do anything.

Thanks. Yeah, the reason I was just tracking that one number is that I can explain anything away when I start getting into details. I figured that I'd just track that one number and then revise as I go along. But, with how I'm doing things, i don't have the efficiency / time to even hit that number.

I will think on what you said.

I'm typing everything into hubspot, so I can pull more analytics out of it.

One thing I'm considering is hiring a virtual assistant to refine my list before I get to it. That way I don't waste time looking at websites to see what kind of company they are before I call them.

This is pretty cool. I'm going to join if you guys don't mind :)

This is what I'll start tracking. Some things might change week to week depending on what I'm focusing on or what I need to improve on.

I'll also post my gym sets and how I'm performing. I'd write how my nights go but I don't think it's allowed so I'll just keep those to myself :)

I'll post the completed version on Sunday.

My mentor preaches business owner execution is crucial to success, maybe the most important factor to winning.

I am nowhere near as efficient as I think I am and I'm going to dedicate myself to tracking weekly KPI's and updating here with my sheet once per week.

So not much to report, I've upheld all my obligations, but I still haven't gotten to set up a system to track my activities this week. I'm not sure if I manage that the coming week either. At the moment besides coding on a website project to spice up my project portfolio I'm also busy with ranking my project and business ideas. I do that because I'm in the process of defining my short-term and medium-term goals which I prepare for a online course about motivation that I'm doing currently.

BTW, I also read everything and root for everyone here, but I only give thumbs up to people that I think manage to uphold a certain consistency (or else provide valuable info). Participating and writing down your faults is already worth much of course, but if you want more tangible support, you'll have to peform ;)

Not going to post a sheet because its only for 1 day. Will post a full sheet next friday.

We did have some more execution this week. 1040 Dials and 3 Sales appointments set compared to 0 dials and 0 appointments the week before. The goal is to get that number up to 1500 dials weekly and 5 sales appointments weekly.

Last week I was able to increase my hours spent on business to 12.5h, but my other stats suffered. This week my goal is to maintain or beat 12.5h of business work and also hit the following:

Out of bed between 6 and 7
3h reading
5h exercise
full week nofap
30m meditation

As you can see I've made some improvement and especially the "analyzing my habits daily" habit is a key factor to improve my results.

The porn usage droped by one which isn't good but still it's an improvement.
My preparation for the grant was good this week and next week will be the final before the interview.

What can I do to improve next weeks results?
  • keep analyzing my habits daily
  • work on my "proactivity muscle" to resist porn urges
  • daily working with my week plan to keep me focused
I'm looking forward to see your results :smuggy::clench:

Same same. All obligations uphold (although I've been very .. flexible with them recently. Whatever as long as it keeps me on my toes a bit). Reached another milestone in my webproject, has been more hasslesome than anticipated though. Progress on my middleterm and longterm planning has been rather slow and I most likely won't set up a better system for tracking my activities by next week either. I think I'm making some progress in being more mindful and responsible, though nothing dramatic. I hope I can develop more intrinsic motivation and control my thoughts better, been inspired recently by this video ("brain bridging" and shit):

Cool thread! I'm working on losing weight. Right now, I'm at about 213 pounds, but I want to get down to my high school weight of 170 pounds.

I'll be tracking my food intake and exercise through MyFitnessPal. I have it set so that I will be in a 500 caloric deficit per day. I'll weigh myself every week and post my progress.

Today, I ate half a pizza for lunch, which put me over for calories today, so that wasn't good.
I made up for it a little by walking 2 1/2 miles though.

Alright, here's my metrics for the last week, and a few past days before that I mentioned in an earlier post here that I was off to a wasted time in my hometown break with parents.

@458 mentioned earlier on having some goals to beat, so for each metric, here are some:

-cook at least THREE times a week
-Take supplements TWO times a day
-sleep at least 6 hrs a night
-one email/sales copy breakdown
-at least one hr A DAY on studying for college
-at least one hr A DAY on college projects
-Read up to THREE educational emails a day (not including email copywriting ones from Settle or AWAI)
-walk more than 1000 steps
-go to gym at least 2 times a week

Other metrics like Upwork sales/ follow-ups and networking will have to wait for a bit for their goal-setting, as according to the week's report, even the fundamental goals above aren't well met yet.

I did have a few repeat clients, but nothing really special about the rates or jobs to speak of...

Here's the goals I didn't meet perfectly...
  1. go to gym at least 2 times a week
  2. one email/sales copy breakdown
  3. sleep at least 6 hrs a night

I've noticed that on the days I overslept (in the morning or evening), I tend to try to make up for the lost time by working late into the night, only to F*ck up my sleep time and most probably oversleep too the next day, or not wake up immediately to the alarm.

That means there are many days where I did get the 6 hours of sleep, but I slept into the PRODUCTIVE hours of the morning...

I'm still working on college assignments due in the coming week, so I'd expect the regularity in my habits and activities to remain out of whack for some time.

I was shocked to hear from my group assignment peers that YOU COULD UNDERLOAD units for college, i.e. take 2 units instead of a full 4.

That means I would have less to study, less assignments, and more time available from the get-go!

Of course you would take longer to graduate, but you only pay for whatever units you take, and the extra time you've got on your hands can be used for work. Work on an internship, Fastlane, or improve the grades to be much better.

This feels like a much better alternative to simply dropping out of university, and burning bridges with my parents. I should have done this earlier, but somehow the intro sessions never introduced this to me. Probably they don't want us students to take this as the 'easy way out' haha.

EDIT:Also found my laptop slowing down, and lagging like hell.

In such delays, I've found myself more likely to go take a nap, oversleep, and look at my phone and waste time.

I just got a hard drive and have tried to shift data from my laptop, so that it can breathe easier.
Speed improved, but still lags at times.

Might need to check Windows cleanup again, or hit the subreddit for tech issues.

EDIT 2: Shit...I just spotted my Bible reading also stalled. I did some preliminary readings, but that was just that.

Only got to have a few rounds of prayer journaling, and I tried WRITING vs TYPING.
Somehow I managed to get more out when typing, but I also found more issues with my practices in writing a daily prayer journal.

Those who are reading, and want to know about these, PM me, as I don't wanna toe the forum rules redline by posting it here and derail. But it's a very similar paradigm with Fastlane learning, reflection and communication.

In my week I could reduce my porn use by one (great :D) and the "talking to pretty women" part doesn't look bad either.

The most important habit (preparation for the interview) was mixed this week. On the one hand I've worked only 3 days on it.
On the other hand I worked in total more than 4 hours on the preparation. This is good but it could be more effectively if I'd divided the work into several days.

What can I do to improve next weeks results?
  • review habits every evening and analyzing it
  • work daily with my week plan
  • working and applying "proactivity habit" by 7 habits of highly effective people (highly recommended)
  • working and applying models by mark manson (recommended)

Welcome @YoungPadawan, I imagine weight loss really hard because it demands behavior changes in a lot of areas but I am sure if you track your habits consistently you will improve eventually.

@FastNAwesome I hope for you that you will come back next week as you promised me in the pm. (I'll answer later)

Is it by any chance lack of RAM? It is for me, so I'll be looking to add more next week.
I checked the Task manager, and found some benchmarks for the 'Available' metric in the Performance section.

One article claims that more RAM is needed if less than 25% Available memory of the total is there, but my metrics are still far off from that.

And apparently, I found out that Windows will warn you automatically if the apps are running out of juice. So far, no such notification.

I've heard that Windows 10 has had some few recent bugs that are slowing even the CPU, so not sure if they amended them in the updates.

Review of my week:
- Very bad that because I was sick my effectiveness went down
- Building a bad habit: "When I'm sick, I will use it as an excuse to not do much."
- I'm not tracking my wake-up time anymore, because I didn't see any importance in it.

Excited for this week to see my improvement :)

Enjoy your week!

Here is what I track on the daily: Been tracking now for 3 months - Need to get my sleep better and my readiness & sleep scores up. Most of these metrics are being tracked via Oura Ring. Absolute best $300 I've ever spent. Its changed my life where I wake up at 5am effortlessly M-F and 6am on weekends.

I'm still a major work in progress but my mindset is better and I can make more informed data based decisions which has lead to more success in business and increased levels of fitness. I started tracking everything and treating myself like a machine. My new business is going to be based around this type of stuff.

Current Goals: Increase output/focus, work duration, Increase sleep duration and REM sleep, Lose 8 lbs to get back into single digit body fat range and be stronger and more muscular than I've ever been. Plus win the day at least 5/7 days per week. Basically get dialed in as humanly possible with strong morning and bedtime routines.

This was the thread that made me join the forum, thanks @458 for starting it.

I don't know anyone IRL who also tracks habit-related metrics, so it's very interesting to see what you guys track and how you keep yourselves productive. There are quite a few shared habits.
I've some metrics that I track on a whiteboard and journal, alongside SMART goals, but consistency has been my biggest challenge so far.

For the next 100 days, I'll code everyday for at least one hour (see: 100daysofcode) and I'll post here what I learned on each day. I've tried to learn programming in the past, but never went very far (wouldn't be able to make a calculator today). At the end it might give people who are considering learning programming an idea of what you can do after ~3 months of self study. I'll be using the MIT OCW course, which is free, and the recommended book.

I'll also post meditation time and whether I exercised or not, alongside the amount of book pages I went through.

I'll start with yesterday:
Learned about:
The difference between Declarative knowledge and Imperative knowledge
What's an algorithm
Primitive operators, syntax, static-semantics, semantics
Scalar objects (int, float, bool, none)
type() function
Basic operations
Naming variables
keywords
you can do this x, y = y, x
