Either the beyond meat profits are insane or they're single-handedly trying to kill people slowly for some kind of population control.</div>

As someone who reads the nutrition profile of nearly every packaged food (just for fun), Honey Nut cheerios (which was a childhood staple of mine) will never be fed to my kids. It is like 35% sugar by weight. They can have plain cheerios with some honey added on top if I feel like making it sweeter (which I don't). The funny thing is, the less sugar you eat the less you need, and the sweeter normal foods taste. Now imagine being a child who has next to no sugar exposure eating the same levels of sugar as an adult who has been eating that crap all their life. It blows my mind.<br /> <br /> I like that "chocolate covered almonds" made the list to eat more of, but regular nuts didn't make the list. Yup, gotta cover nuts with chocolate to make them edible.<br /> <br /> Egg substitute fried in vegetable oil is somehow better for you thank a boiled or poached egg???? On what universe????? Also cooking it in some butter makes it somewhere around the "instant death" category? WTF? Skinless chicken breast is also bad? Oh yea, I forgot humans have not evolved into omnivores, eating meat is an abomination that must be stopped at all cost.<br /> <br /> That chart is absolutely insane. I hope that not a single person on the planet looks at that and thinks it is based on anything even close to fact.<br /> <br /> Remember folks, eat your Lucky Charms for breakfast and make damn sure you stay away from a whole egg fried in butter with a little cheddar cheese on top.</div>

Another issue with online backups is that they are a recurring cost, and I am trying to minimize recurring costs. I realized I could just <b>make some encrypted backups, and store them in my car</b>, which is what I will do.<br /> <br /> In the spirit of saving money, I see DHH at <b>Basecamp has elaborated on their move away from the Cloud</b>. They reduced their Cloud costs as much as possible, and <b>their bill was still $3.2M</b>. He's going to give an update at the end of 2024 to document how much money they saved by using their own servers.<br /> <br /> <b>NASA paid Oracle $15M to avoid a software-license audit.</b> An outside auditor told Oracle <b>they wasted $35M</b> on overpayments and penalties, over the last few years.<br /> <br /> If we go in to a deep Recession, I expect a lot more of these stories. <b>Companies looking at where all their money is going, and being shocked at how much they've wasted.</b> The Cloud is often touted as a way to save money, but that seems to be where a lot of companies are getting hammered. The guy absolutely believes his own hype. Dude wrote a whole book about how learning from failure is a waste of time; you learn more from success, so just be successful the first time and learn from that! Easy, right? Nonsense advice from a guy who got lucky once and can‘t capitalize, which is why the like 6 or so other products he launched after Basecamp all failed.</div>

So getting information about a shop, their artists, styles, processes, and booking appointments should not be freaking relegated to Facebook... seriously, wtf.<br /> <br /> Make these people have the following:<br /> <br /> - <b>Home Page</b><br /> - <b>Artists Page</b> (With at least a paragraph about the artist, their best/preferred style, AND their portfolio)<br /> - <b>What to Expect or How it Works Page</b> (Step-by-Step process for getting an amazing tattoo)<br /> - <b>Shop Page</b> (to sell other shit like tattoo creams)<br /> - <b>Booking Page</b> (To simplify the booking process, schedule consultations, etc.)<br /> - <b>Blog Page</b> (To share general info about different styles, approaches, just plain useful info)<br /> <br /> I'm on my sixth tattoo...and still feel like it's a crap shoot to get the info I need to make an informed decision, and I'm willing to bet that this is why people end up with shit tattoos all the time.<br /> <br /> I don't want to walk into your studio, especially if I'm an hour or more away and have no idea if you'll be there. I don't want to send a message to your gmail or on FB and wait 3-4 days for a response. I don't want to call and interrupt a session with one of your clients.<br /> <br /> <b>What I do want:</b><br /> <ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Charge me for a consultation so I get dedicated blocked off time with the artist</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Charge me for art so you're motivated to create something amazing for me</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Have a working process (like at least a client questionnaire) for how you'll extract the idea from my head to the page</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Be open about your pricing and process and give MORE details not less</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Make it easy for me to choose you over other studios even if there's a waitlist</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Guide me toward the right person for different styles</li> </ul>Sleeve tattoos are in the thousands. Sometimes $6,000 to $15,000... Why can't I get a solid client experience when I'm dishing out cash like that? This makes no sense to me.</div>
