@Antifragile will ditch RE and start a SMMA promoting SMMAs.

I can see the Vancouver business news headline:

Prominent real estate magnate walks off 100+ million project to manage planking YouTube sensation Droopynips.

@Private Witt gets promoted to the rank of corporal.

After almost 5.5 years of being a Private I'm ready for this promotion but want to be a E-4 Specialist which matches my rank when was in the Army. Corporal is also E-4 but a little more responsibility and higher status, not ready for that yet, maybe 2028.

After months in a depressive slug, it seems like I kicked myself out of it by suing Meta/FB. Finally having fun again. I should do this more often
A few months ago, Meta disabled my ad account without warning and without giving a reason, which also affects my brand's fb page, IG account, etc. Basically most of my work of the past 8+ years suddenly in danger and as close as a death sentence as it can get for the business, cutting revenue at least in half. I pestered them constantly through all channels, but it's basically impossible to reach a human there. Not even high level account managers could help. I felt (and still feel) like a complete failure for allowing me and the business to get into this position. It also coincided with a big project that I've been working on for 2 years going to shit, with a big personally guaranteed loan attached to it (not failed yet, but on the edge), serious personal health problems, etc. All this pushed my into some serious depression for a couple months. But today I woke up, for some reason thought "F*ck them" and called up some high profile attorneys to start legal action against Meta for the wrongful account restriction. I should have done this earlier because there seems to be a good chance of success after some recent court rulings here. But my depressed, brain-fogged past self wasn't able to do it.

My facebook ad account just got reinstated.

No response from them yet, but I've been checking the account quality dashboard every few hours and this time all the ugly red warning bars are gone and I'm greeted by a lovely "No advertising issues." message.

Also received my attorney's €1600 invoice for this stuff today. At least he was worth it.

Now back to work, getting the business back on track. Probably gonna start a progress thread on it.

Will @Kak finally agree to have droops on the radio show?!?!
You might not believe me, but I already have. You’ll be hearing from him on the buttery smooth KKRS airwaves at some point in the near future.

Just wow at the emojis and comments on the internet on the deaths of those people.

We truly live in a spiritually bankrupt world.

I’m going to light a candle for those that perished.

The answer to at least one of those questions is a resounding YES.

Interesting. What else is Lex right about?

Yo, my recent posts haven't been that bad, have they ?

But I have been thinking of starting an ai block chain porn website.
Can I make money doing that or is the market saturated? Is that business fastlane ?

All posts in marketplace threads need approval

Definitely start a thread with those other questions they deserve their own topic. Ai porn is the future of fast lane blockchains

Outside your house, hold yourself to high standards. You never know who looks up to you. I learned this when kids called me their 'idol' at the basketball court. That day, my performance suffered, teaching me the importance of setting a positive example.

Well this is interesting.

Looks very similar to an experience @Likwid24 wrote about.

Even more info:

Yup. I didn't have the best experience. They definitely didn't have our companies best interest in mind.

5 min watch on changing ip with a VPN
Viva la revolution! Haha

Always welcome! Who knows if more people from the other side of the pont are interested in live tour de France. That freedom is one of the parts of the Fastlane right :D

Do I need to buy a dedicated IP with Nord VPN?

I figured I can watch TDF2023 with Hulu subscription in the USA.

Interestiing situation I'm in today!

One of my clients is an SEO company. I started with them as a freelancer 6 years ago, but as they grew and I started doing other things, I started to hire out the work. I started with freelancers, then hired someone local to do the work in order to speed up the process & guarantee quality.

I've been trying to get the process as fast and error-free as possible. Recently, GPT-3 tools like ChatGPT have allowed instant text generation.

Of course, I have to be forthcoming about my use of these tools, as to do otherwise would be unethical. I have my employee create over 10,000 words of edited, original content. I brag about my process and how it can clear their content backlog. I use ChatGPT to organize the content of articles found on the Web, which saves a ton of time when researching & creating content.

The client comes back and tells me that they pitch clients manually created content so they don't think I should have my employee use any sort of AI tools. (I understand why; people buying SEO don't value content if it's written by an AI) They run one of the articles through GPTZero and it says it's entirely written by AI. (It wasn't, but whatever)

So I decide to rewrite the content myself so that I could get it done today. Whatever, I'm a fast writer.

First two pieces of content are rewritten successfully. Then I go to the third piece of content.

GPTZero detects my rewritten content as "entirely written by AI".

I rewrite it 5 more times and I can't get it to budge. I use Hemingway editor, I split up sentences, I fuse sentences, I choose different words, I erase the whole thing and rewrite it again...

Nope.

I get it down to "moderate chance of being written by AI". Back to the drawing board. It's not getting done today, I'll have to wait for my employee to come back!

I'm now concerned that the client is going to retroactively ask for refunds on any content "detected as AI" because apparently they've been pitching their clients manually written content. (I'm not sure if I should give them.) These AI detectors are clearly not reliable, but clients won't know the difference and they may accuse my client of lying to them about the nature of the content created!

Thing is, I know that this client is going to prune away. They have to eventually, right? Surely AI can produce better SEO-optimized content more quickly. But as long as they can successfully pitch "human created content" they will, only because the value of human-created content is higher than that of AI-created content regardless of factual accuracy, SEO impact, or style... and that's because the clients can just do it themselves.

Moral of the story... I don't have one!

More of a rant but I want to put this into the dirt and forget about it:

During cold calling last year ran across a biz that was like "GOD YES!" on the phone. Was able to get a time and do the sales call, they were excited about the project and wanted a quick proposal to take to the owner. Did it, called in to check in on it two weeks later and... *crickets*.
This was in October.
Called maybe once or twice a month until December without being able to talk to my contact "Oh they're busy at the moment"(red flag) and forgot about it.

Was going through my CRM list and saw I had a proposal out and called them again end of April, got in touch with the same contact by chance and they were off the walls. Said they appreciated it and got some info back to help me execute on it but wanted me to come out to their office and talk to a few of the staff and the owner and if it got greenlit go ahead and do the photography I needed to.
okay- I'm back in action?
They told me to call back the next day to see if they'd have a clear afternoon- I did and was told my contact wasn't available. It sounded like it was on the map for them, so called biweekly but got the same runaround.
FINALLY, today, I called at CoB and got the phone slammed on me.

I know sales is a long game of presenting value and working with people who will put down the phone and go "SH!T SH!T SH!TTTTTT I JUST AGREED TO A SALES CALL!" and then play the avoidance game but I really don't appreciate people seemingly confirming and asking for hours of my time (proposals, followups, drafting wireframes/designs) then treating me like vermin and dropping projects or calls.
Luckily, according to The UK's most hated sales trainer- this is common and becomes less of an issue with experience. I also have other irons in the fire now so I'm not as worried but damn- it's such a tough slog when you're building up a client a base and doing cold outreach.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk ;)

You could send them this exact story and show them why it's not worth their time to use "AI detector bots" to figure out what is human and what's not

Somehow I don't think it'll convince their clients, but I'll definitely let them know about it (with a video for proof).
