Oh... I had fun today.

off topic rant incoming

Progressivism is a silly idea, like all linear models. Even climate change is likely part of mega-seasons (example: the ice age) rather than something that started recently.

The world doesn't keep getting better or worse indefinitely. Civilizations go through cycles just like the seasons - infancy, youth, maturity, decline, death.

Hindenburg Journalist Pro sucks now… Some update killed my plugin workflow. I can’t have that. I’ve gotten the show production to a science where I talk into a template and it’s frickin done when I fill up the template.

Long gone were the days it took me 2 hours to make a half hour show. 39 minutes of content took me 36 minutes of work. Until now.

So now it looks like Adobe Audition proficiency is the task at hand. Super fun… Not.

While learning the industry, Kill Bigger Media has also become an agency for radio advertising which is cool. I put together a deal to access iHeartRadio’s network of stations and podcasts for any of my advertisers to get an additional bang/scale while working with me. I can do six or seven figure radio advertising packages if requested now.

The idea is to take the recorded ads I make for companies like APMEX and Nord and also be able to make radio ads for prime time premier radio shows. It gets the Kyle Keegan show name out there, and also plugs these companies to whatever scale they want. Kind of a cool twist here.

Funny how life works...

Sometimes the things we do, take us on other paths that previously went unseen.

Kinda like being set up on a date and it didn't work out, but the failed setup allowed you to meet, and then marry, your date's sister.

A friend told me that one of his business professors told his class that if they wanted to make a lot of money, then they shouldn't be going to college.

Yes. So I went to business school. It was OK... But not at all worth it.

I went to the most conservative college in Texas by demographics... I still had a few self-defined socialist professors and this was in 2008-2012 before it was even socially acceptable to be one. How do you learn business from a socialist? It was total BS. That is a massive conflict of interest.

I have learned 100x as much DOING business than "being taught" business and not a single person, that mattered, has ever asked me if I had a college degree. Once, the leader of a super pac in a discussion about running for office, which, of course, was a worthless waste of time, and I don't know what the hell I was thinking.

When I was 18, college was just the thing you did if you were a person that gave a damn about your future. I have high expectations for my kid (eventual kids). I also have every intention to really give them a ridiculous head start “pRIvIlEGe”, both financially and influentially, yet, they won't be going to college on my dime.

Academia is now where true intellect goes to die. There is a polish to the way about an educated person... It is important to develop that whether you go to traditional school or not.

Just listened to one episode and enjoyed it. Respect @Kak, I may not always agree with you but seeing how you’ve set up your radio show is very impressive. Instead of bowing down to the man at some dying breed of media, you just did it yourself. True entrepreneur.

Which episode talks about formal education? You talked about it at the start of the last one but I didn’t get which episode was the full cover?
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it.

The school one is a classic… Episode 48. This was way before the high end audio equipment and making the show totally professional.

I am going to revisit it nearly 200 episodes later next week because of popular demand. I do have some new thoughts about the entire institution.

Ok, you got me hooked with episode 48, buddy. I subscribed to your show. That was 10/10.
A well articulated and balanced discussion. Anyone who had to build a business and attended college can relate to your 15 things. Can’t wait for the revised version.

Today, I haven't fully unpacked my revisit of the college discussion, but I have re listened to 48... To my listeners that have been with me since the beginning... THANK YOU for hanging with me for so long. It was definitely not the mark of professionalism back then.

The content was fun and engaging, and the sound was decent, but I annoyed myself in several ways and was way too aggressive with the noise gate.

Fun fact, I used to cut the "ums" and "ahs" out of the show if I noticed an egregious one, but ultimately most of them would end up in the show. The show has actually trained me NEVER to say "ah" or "um" I don't say them AT ALL in the new episodes and I don't even bother looking for them anymore. I don't ever even use them when I am conversing in every day circumstances.

Today, I am working on a truly free speech platform. Rumble. This is kind of like the new frontier of internet content. Maybe that's good for finding new listeners. Who knows. What I do know is that my content will not be censored over there.

Now, I haven't been having a real problem with censorship, but I still want my stuff where it will stand strong and I want to support rumble with more content.

I chose to start the show off on Rumble at 199 through present and some of my favorites from before 199. From this point forward, EVERY episode of KKRS will also syndicate to Rumble, and it sucks a$$ because I have to literally go do it myself. There is no API or anything yet. If someone want's to make an automation arrangement, I am willing to pay good money for it.

I’ve been using Descript to edit our podcasts, and it can automatically remove the filler words and shorten silences. Like you, we’re already starting to naturally say Um and Ah less anyway as we’re more conscious of it.

It is on its way to all of the podcasting apps. Rumble, for those that want to try it out, will take a little longer as I let libsyn make the video, send the video to youtube, then I download it from youtube and finally post it manually on Rumble.

@Kak, have any of your podcasts talked about how young some people were when they did incredible things?

Caesar Augustus raised an army at 19 (he later became Emperor and died in his bed in his mid 70s).

Hannibal was leading a war with Rome in his 20s IIRC

Here are the ages of the founding fathers when they signed the declaration of independence

James Monroe: 18
Alexander Hamilton: 21
James Madison: 25
Thomas Jefferson: 33
Thomas Paine: 39
John Hancock: 39

You get one life - swing for the fences
This is an amazing post!!! Absolutely love it, and this is where I’m coming from when I mention taking on leadership.

I recently met some young politicians in my area and was very inspired by them. Youngest city councilman in the state, for one.

Obviously the Mark Zucks of the world really are a part of this story!

Lol yup. I feel like Kyle is high on some kinda relaxants everytime I talk to him on the phone. I have it at 1.5 or 1.6x or something. I don't even notice anymore until the music starts playing.
I’m going to do it in post for you guys. So I’ll be 3x. I talk pretty fast on the radio show to begin with.

Kyle Keegan Radio Show 10 minute edition. Advil recommended.

that’s a compliment, by the way.

Unchained from the show clock, I was still damn close. Either way, this was a fun episode.

Most people probably look at a title like that and laugh, knowing that I am probably going to talk about politics ruining a "good time." Not really... It's not an argument. It's the communists' fault completely.

Let's be honest, thanksgiving, for a lot of people looks more like a scary movie than a pleasant dinner. There is actually AN ORIGINAL way to ruin thanksgiving. The colonists, under the governorship of William Bradford in 1620, needlessly suffered and died of famine... BECAUSE THEY WERE COMMUNISTS. So If someone tells you not to "ruin thanksgiving," with your capitalist truth, you can quite literally tell them that their commie bullshit is the original way to ruin thanksgiving.

Peace out!

I think you could work on your episode descriptions. I very rarely listen to podcasts so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on that but I decide whether to listen to a podcast based on its description.

The description for this episode is so vague I have no idea what it's about. Now imagine I'm completely new to your podcast - there's no way I'd listen to it since I can't judge whether it's for me and whether it's worth my time.

On today's episode, my lovely wife makes another rare appearance. Today we discuss what is so frustrating about running a "small business" because she actually runs one. I also compare this pretty common experience running such a business with... the alternative.

Kyle,
I thought of you as soon as I saw this. Stunning gallery photos: https://www.dassaultfalcon.com/en/M...tHFXz23pygAQPzLwkE4ut1-vbtR-CFQ1j4jJLJXxNWp8c
Dassault is my favorite! I think they make gorgeous airplanes. I like the Tri-Jet design because it looks cool, but it also works great at smaller than average airports.

So cool that a big jet can take off and land at a lot of the little municipal airports made for prop planes.

Check out the Pilatus PC24 as well! Smaller but still amazing.

You mentioned your love of Dassault in a conversation we had on twitter or telegram once. So it stuck. Beautiful planes.

You, Brittany, and your son can have the Cardone lifestyle.

I can only imagine you at some point being pulled into a senate hearing where they bust your balls over flying in a private jet and unlike the car company CEO's who looked weak, you serve up a lesson on Freedom and Capitalism and encourage them to renounce their past and read MJ's books to make an honest living and by the way FJB. ;)

Kyle will absolutely get pulled into a senate hearing one day! But it won’t be about the airplane. It’ll be “did you really say that on your radio show? What did you mean the government is not a producer? How dare you?” ;)

Caught up to the last episode on small business.

I very much agree with the key message. Small means more work than big. Try for medium by leveraging human and $ capital from the start.

In my experience, when we started, I had to do 2x more than now. I am not done yet, but know that when we further double staff, my time will be better spent on high value activities.

Sy Sperling told me that he worked more when he had 3 locations of Hairclub for Men than when he got to 30 and then nationwide with 300. In the end, he was able to hire a CEO and eventually sell his business and retire.

"THIS TIME IT'S DIFFERENT!" The cry of an economically illiterate luddite.

This episode includes a little bit of a history lesson about the rejection of progress. Not progress in the nutjob political sense, which should be more aptly considered regression, but progress in human efficiency brought on by technology and entrepreneurship.

Inflation is on the minds of most serious entrepreneurs and legacy minded people. Can the FED make inflation go away? What if they can? What if they can't? What does inflation mean for my investments? What does it mean for business? AND MORT IMPORTANTLY... What is likely to do well amidst this inflationary environment?

Business owners need not worry about normal inflation. Obviously hyperinflation throws everything out the window and the world becomes chaos, but inflation that just reduces the value of the dollar is just fine for business owners. We put those dollars to work doing things that don’t lose value. We pay employees, charge customers, etc.

The only harm inflation does is for the short period of time that cash sits in our pockets. If the pickles you sell cost $2.45 in a few months you’ll charge 2.65 for them. Employees get paid $16.23 an hour, give them a raise to 16.89 an hour.

Now, the man who has 18,000,000 in cash sitting in his bank account who is sitting around thinking “my nest egg oh no :(“ yeah he’s F*cked. Or at the very least, seriously bummed out.

In consideration of the inflationary economy from our last episode, and being entrepreneurs within it... I was inspired to discuss more deeply the difference between fixed and variable expenses and why the fixed costs are not as big of a profitability concern as the variable ones.

I also give a brief discussion on cash flow vs income statements. I also think I mention the balance sheet in there too.
