The world of AI is in its infancy, it's just getting started, and I know nothing.
Sure, I've invested time learning the basics. I'm great with one-shot prompts and I followed a tutorial to build my own chatbot from scratch with my existing knowledge. Better than playing around with ChatGPT for entertainment and minor tasks I guess.
The urge to dive head in on this once in a lifetime opportunity keeps growing by the day as I watch AI tools encroach upon existing industries, including my own. Even more so I watch things go from "AI makes my front desk staff more 150% efficient" to "I fired most of my front-desk staff because AI made the leftovers so much more efficient".
Recent discussions on this forum (AI Job Apocalypse @MJ DeMarco), reddit and in life have compounded this urge to levels that cannot be ignored.
Little has changed for most people in the +/- 1 year that "AI" has been on the average person's radar and there is what appears to be an unlimited source of opportunity to revolutionize almost every aspect of life as we know it.
I'm convinced it is impossible to fail by going all in on learning skills related to AI and how to apply them to existing industries. Maybe it will take time, maybe it will be hard, but these skills will serve me no matter what direction I choose to take.
The idea of moving from one business to another is terrifying, yet exhilarating. I don't care to hop from one idea to the next, but some opportunities cannot be ignored. I'm young, have no dependents, and have another business that requires minimal effort while paying the bills. Undoubtedly that business will suffer and customers will churn, but I think the risk is worth it.
I'm all in and want to share. I won't be posting every day, but I'll post periodic updates here as I go along, everything from the struggles I face to the projects I build, both simple and complex.
Bear with me... like I said at the start. I know nothing, but there's nowhere to go but up.
