I think it's great! Being fit is rewarding in too many ways to enlist.
Do measure progress. Consider taking a "before" pic, so you can compare it with "after" pic once you're there.
As I'm no expert by any means, I won't dare to give out any advice. But I do workout my whole life, and have tried many things. What has given me the most amazing results ever is this guy (no affiliation):

I'm extremely satisfied with the transformation I'm going through, this guy walks the walk and covers in his own unique way all necessary aspects: workout, nutrition, supplements, rest.
What I love about the site is that he doesn't give you a one-size-fits-all program, but rather he educates you, letting you come up with what makes most sense for yourself. There's lots of teaser videos on YT so you can see how it is inside the site.
I workout hard all my life, but following this guy I finally started doing so in educated way, with proper nutrition and rest, and results are crazy.
Irony - I hate it when people recommend "gurus" like this, I just felt strong this is worth sharing.
