Location will be in old town Scottsdale, near Camelback and Scottsdale Rd. Still trying to find the best place for the venue. That way we will be walking distance to everything.

Ditto on the thanks to the locals! All the planning / setup really is appreciated.

Mtnman - If the location is similar to last years, yes everything is within walking distance (nightclubs, restaurants, etc.).

You'll only need a cab to and from the hotel - and depending on when you're arriving / departing I or someone else will share one with you. I think cab fare to the hotel was around $40 last year.

No need for help yet. Still trying to get a venue. We hope to get a better room and location. And of course, decent lunches. This year include 2 dinners (Fri and Sat) and of course t-shirts!

Ok it is looking like the venue will be Fire Sky Resort (Scottsdale Arizona Resorts: FireSky Resort and Spa)

This is a nice upgrade from last year. In order to get the meeting room here we must have at least 5 people stay here for two nights. The room rate for our group has been discounted to $169/night. Please let me know if you would like to reserve a room because we need to guarantee 5.

There are many nice advantages to having the B&P here and staying here. Since it's a resort, we can all hang out at the patio and pool during the night. No need to go to the Phoenician. They have a complimentary shuttle that we can use to travel to restaurants or wherever else you may want to go within 3 miles. Everything will be within walking distance, there is no need to rent a car. A shuttle from the airport to the resort is $17.

Other amenities include:

• Complimentary Wine Reception from 5-6pm in our Living room
• Complimentary Coffee & Tea in our Living room from 6am-9am
• Complimentary Wireless throughout the resorts common areas and in guestrooms with Kimpton InTouch Guest Loyalty program
• Complimentary shuttle within 3 mile radius of the Resort
• Complimentary Fitness Center

We could buy a screen really cheap, and use it each year. They roll up and don't take up much space (and whomever hangs onto it could use it for outside movie parties).

Since we will be there 5 nights, we will likely stay at the days inn. Its just up the road. I say that, but if you still need to have someone stay at the Firesky for 2 nights, we will. As of now we will plan on the days inn.

I just checked prices and the days inn is $75 per night and only about 400 ft up the road. 2 blocks.

For those considering costs. Here is what it will likely cost my fiance and me.

B&P signup 2 people: $300
Room 5 nights at days inn: $375-$400
Flight from Denver X 2 (+baggage fees): $400
Food and entertainment not covered: $200
option: rental car 5 days : $250
option Taxi from airport: $50 roundtrip

Total for 2 people : $1300-$1500

networking in Scottsdale with early spring weather: Priceless


Honestly $650 per person for an experience to remember is a very small price to pay.
BTW: This will be a business trip for me and many others going. Many tax deductions to work with.
