[*]Building a brand in the craft beer market.

Yes ^^. Also eager to hear about marketing, staying front-of-mind in the social space, etc.

Love your name 'n logo, so it'll be fun to hear how all that came to pass.

Presentation question for past attendees: Do the presentations typically include an intro? or do we assume that we'll get to know each other well enough over the event that an intro isn't necessary?

You intro, but it didn't have to be a dossier of your life. Just keep it relevant

Short and sweet. Keep in mind you are on a limited time budget, and your first impression is everything. You have about 60 seconds to captivate before people will either engage or be checking Facebook. No pressure, though... :)

I know that some people get a bit squeamish about presentations/public speaking, so I thought these might be useful. Garr Reynolds has written a few books about presenting, and I think they're all very useful unless you're already great at presenting. Here's Seth Godin's post that introduced me to Garr's work a few years ago.

Seth Godin said:
Garr Reynolds shows us the joy of the commons. Basically, he's written a book (the book) about presentations and PowerPoint and put entirely too much effort into it. It appears that it has taken him tens of thousands of hours, tweaking endless invisible details to bring us this piece of work.

Because the market is crowded, he overdelivered. Dramatically. And it shows.

Here's Garr's blog and books:
http://www.presentationzen.com/

Presentation Zen - making great presentations
Presentation Zen Design - specifically about slide design
The Naked Presenter - specifically about presenting (basically public speaking, though specifically NOT about making speeches)

If you're coming to B&P, you absolutely MUST present; no excuses. Plan for a 20 minute presentation, give or take depending on our scheduling.
I know in the official B&P 2014 thread there were suggestions about not everyone having to present. And I believe last year some people missed out on presenting due to the larger numbers of attendees than before.

Should I just assume that I will be presenting even though some people might miss out due to time constraints?

Yup.... unless you assume you won't, and then have to, and then have a terrible presentation, and that wouldn't be cool.

Despite time constraints 99% of attendees presented last year. I know this because I was second last on the last day if I recall and we got through the whole presenter list. I'm sure 1 or 2 didn't present but I don't recall it being for time reasons.

Bottom line: everyone wants to hear from everyone. That's why you are there!

(I PM'd this to JasonR but then saw his request to post here...so please disregard PM JasonR, thanks)

I'm relatively new to the forum and would like to possibly attend the BnP meeting. As far as presenting goes - I haven't quite hit the fastlane yet myself, and I see there will be some heavy hitters in attendance. Is it OK if I presented on my expertise to date, which would be my experience and success with my residential landlording/housing business? I'm just a small time landlord and I'm looking to ultimately create fastlane income and invest it in real estate. Please let me know if I'm in the ballpark here, thanks.

I was just talking to Lighthouse tonight about presentation topics and am struggling with a topic. Normally I do presentations about asset protection, trusts, offshore business, etc.

But honestly I don't think this is the right venue for these topics. It seems everyone is interested in offshore topics, but it isn't really actionable for 99% of the attendees.

Here are my most recent presentations I've done at various events this year:
  • Create Your Own Financial Fortress (its a geo-political presentation about internationalizing you life - full pres. takes about 1h)
  • Using Anguilla Offshore Trusts for Asset Protection and Estate Planning (can be done in about 20-30m)
  • How to Move your IRA Offshore (20-30m)
  • Buying Latvian Real Estate for Yield and Obtaining EU Residency
I really don't think these are relevant to most of the group, but I put them up there just in case someone wants to hear it.

Other items of interest:
  • How to Legally Live Tax Free (probably an interesting topic for this group)
  • I travel to around 20-30 countries a year, so I could discuss how to travel light as a PT (perpetual traveler) with details about packing light, tech I use, how I buy plane tickets, how I book rooms, etc.
  • We just launched our membership site in October and could discuss the process
  • We have hosted 3 conferences (2 in Panama, 1 in Belize) and have 1 small group event coming up in Anguilla, and a big conference in Panama - I could discuss the process of event planning/management
  • I have been on a few speaking panels about - Best Places to Live, Work and Invest Overseas - I could give short synopsis of this

Nice set of topics! I would vote for this one.

Agree, Financial Fortress sounds great. ALL sound great!

Most actionable by the most people may be smart booking of plane and hotel, and such.

The hurdles and all of Latvian REI would be fascinating to hear about, I suspect.

I've been pretty quiet on the forum lately but I'll obviously be at B&P.

Was hoping you guys would select what you'd rather hear about. I've
taken this last year to work with some pretty high profile dudes with
some personal coaching. Also have just started taking on consulting
clients for marketing. Soooo...

1. What Tony Taught Me

Why you do what you do, how to get yourself to follow through,
creating lasting change. I won't go on and on like he does. A few
quick exercises and interactive demonstration on how to manage
your state and figure out why you do (or don't do) what you do.

2. 5 Pieces of the ultimate marketing funnel

With my consulting clients right now I really only focus on these 5
things to produce the best results. This would be really only useful
to people who own a business right now and are already up and running.
(so if there's a lot of new people - this may not be the right presentation).

Both I'll try to keep to 15 minutes or less (I know I talk too much - Global
and I have a contest to see who can bullshit more :p)

Ok, I'm calling you out on the first line. This reeks of AMA. Don't make people ask you what you know. Tell us.

1- too fluffy. I don't give a shit about how I feel. F*ck that. Make me money.

2- Now we're talking. Make me money.

15m....bwahahahaah

You and I could both talk for an hour about a new pair of shoelaces.

And clearly I am a much more gifted bullshitter. You are merely a noob....;)

Ok, I'm narrowing down to:

"How to Legally Live Tax Free"....or

"How to Travel Light and Live as a PT" (perpetual traveler)

You can vote on the topic, mark me for either/or, I can do both, or wing it.
