@SIDI look at your posts above. it is the negative and downtrodden state of mind that is weak.

life happens. maybe you cannot go. cool.

the negative mindset is your enemy.

reframe your earlier post by ending with the three things you are doing to make it happen!
give yourself some credit and build yourself up. then get some shit done!
Fair. Thanks

I wouldn’t miss it. It’s my favorite weekend every year.

Those of you who are asking for recordings and video streams of the presentations... you are totally missing the point. I actually hate the presentations part. Sorry, I love you guys, but it’s true. I have a short attention span, and the presentations get repetitive year after year. Actually, @MJ DeMarco, if you offered networking-only tickets, then I wouldn’t feel so badly about taking an active forum member’s spot.

The value of the Summit is in what happens outside of the presentations.

Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it is when you find your tribe — people who understand your trials and triumphs.

I’m honored to call many of the people on this forum my friends and chosen family. We joke that it’s a family reunion, but it’s really the truth. I’ve had the privilege of traveling with many of you, often overseas. I know that when I run into a roadblock, there are people on this forum who I can call for help. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again.

There’s no substitute for meeting someone in person. Those of you who are ready to walk the walk, or are already doing it... I’ll see you there in February. The rest of you will keep making excuses, not only for this event, but most likely, for other aspects of your life as well.

Just a thought... and I'll be happy to throw up a quick bare-bones web app/website or whatever for it.

But...

Unlike the Big conventions with 2,000+ people.. this is a nice group of a couple hundred give or take.

It's just big enough that you actually need a "target list" of people you want to meet first and quickly on day 1. It's small enough, you will likely eventually bump into them or figure out someone who knows who, but that's waste of precious time lol.

Therefore; I think:

1) We need a very basic internal directory (aka social media, linked in, etc) for all the attendees. With their real pictures, maybe two or three. Their forum name and real name. And their Top 5 things they do: Amazon, Trading, Crypto, Books, Marketing, etc. etc. (maybe a quick one liner if there's something distinct or obvious way to spot them. example: @amp0193 is tall as shit lol)

2) In this, you can quickly sort/filter the entire directory list of attendees by what their Top 5 things are and can effectively identify them when you see them at the Summit.

3) At the Summit, the name tags could then have: Username & Real Name.

If @MJ DeMarco or folks think this is a good enough idea; making a minimal directory just for us would take me merely a couple hours to create and make live on another domain.

Anyways; just food for thought..

Whew, I just caught up reading everyone's input. For those of you who aren't sure you can afford to attend, I have a few suggestions:
1. I have a vacation tin - rather than waste money on stuff, eating out for example, I take the same amount of money and put it in my vacation tin.
2. Maybe you could have a garage sale or sell stuff on ebay or Craigslist, and put the money toward attending.
3. Possibly get a holiday job to fund it, but that is antithetical to what this forum represents, so if you do this, then make sure you are learning something that you can apply in your business.

For similar events I've been to, we've done "breakout sessions", where people choose which of the 3 sessions they want to attend at that time

It's a great way to mix up just listening to speaker after speaker and you get to make the event more relevant to you.
..but then I would have to choose! I don't want to miss out on anything. I like the idea of a panel so I can soak up everything like a sponge.

All anyone would have to do is show up to blackjack table number 30 in the casino and they could have it for the cost of a few blackjack hands
Sounds like a great platform.

I can also speak if wanted. I know my stuff is a little niche but can talk about starting and managing international company, insights into code outsourcing from both client and coder perspective, etc. I’m happy to share my years of experience, just not sure how many people it would pertain to.
I think this topic sounds very interesting, @GIlman

3) At the Summit, the name tags could then have: Username & Real Name.
@James Fend, I was thinking the same thing, because I don't know anyone.

@MJ DeMarco, I will volunteer to help with something - registration? Clean-up? Making shadow puppets if a speaker doesn't show?
For every minute spent volunteering, I will be saving $10 by staying away from @Vigilante's blackjack table.

Also, for those of you who feel like you have not achieved enough to attend:
Commit now, and challenge yourself to see how much you can achieve before the meetup. We have four months. That is a lot of time. Don't let it slip by without action, and if you achieve something before the conference, then it will:
1. help you know what input you need to receive during the conference
2. enable you to help someone else with your experience, and
4. you will be assured that you are not action-faking by attending the conference.

This is where my brain is at!! You put it so succinctly! I want to get way more done in the next four months because I want to attend ready to hear the good stuff!

Damn, reading the new comments on this thread, getting me pumped! Excited to finally meet a bunch of you!

There is a FREE app called Attendify. It's a social networking app for events, attendees can dm each other and post messages on the events timeline, upload profile pictures and pictures during the event.

Some updates...

Still awaiting to firm up the hotel/rooms/food costs and get my total cost numbers in so the prices can be locked in. I've learned in the past that what's promised by voice (or email) and what's promised in an actual contract often differs radically.

Once this is done I can start sending out speaker invitations complete with the finalized ticket discount. My goal is to get this done this week, but obviously I'm a bit handcuffed by some third-party entities.

For those who volunteered, thank you!

I will poll for volunteers after speakers are confirmed and paid.

Awesome - can't wait to get some numbers for this!

Definitely count me in! I am so happy to hear that this event is going to happen. I will volunteer to help with something too.

@MJ DeMarco Is it possible to provide exact time slot schedule for speakers? I want to go but for me to make it work I will need to fly in and fly right out the same day, too much going on..

I'm not going to try to talk anyone into making the time or figure out how to go. I believe that if someone can't figure out how to make it happen and come, or needs convincing why they need to go, then they aren't ready to take advantage of the event. I'd rather that someone else who would make it happen no matter what attends instead since the number of spots is limited anyway. That's the type of person I want to spend my time with and share and exchange information with.

Yes, not a problem.

If you haven't already tied down the speakers list, I volunteer:

Networking & Playing the Game - How I Got Top Industry Attention as a First Time Scriptwriter.

Cos whilst that story is a little niche, I can see how going through the details of my cold approaches to an industry that is used to ignoring 99%+ of "outsiders" could have some transferable ideas.

If i'm out of the speaker race, then obviously I'm still interested in the summit.

And yes, you've not seen a lot of me around here recently. I stopped myself for a while when I realised I was using visiting the forum as an action fake (my own problem, no reflection on the actual value of the forum when used properly!) It's been useful memory hanging around in the back of my mind though, like an angel on my shoulder reminding me I've got stuff to do. I came back today to start my progress thread, now I actually have some progress! It is absolutely a challenge to myself to increase my participation here (in a healthy way), & I'm launching my business in a couple of months, so by the time the summit hits I just have to be in a better place. I just have to! No excuses.

I will definitely be attending if I can get my hands on tickets fast enough. Fingers crossed as I have become an INSIDERS last year!!!

I'd love to talk as well - I'm just not sure what about. I'll post again when I think of what would provide value.

If you still need speakers I'm willing to speak on health, specifically:

How To Maintain Physical Health and Longevity While You're Busy Grinding

Topics covered:

Dealing with back pain from sitting
How to strengthen postural muscles that we're all weak on
Recovering from (and preventing) RSIs and tendon injuries
Simple daily tools, techniques, stretches, and habits to improve longevity

I've suffered, and have assisted others in recovery from the above when I used to train clients. I've also learned a ton from PESTERING my physiotherapists...

If this isn't relevant @MJ DeMarco I completely understand.

Thank you

Definitely interested in attending. Unfortunately I haven't posted lately because I have taken action on another project and am running full steam ahead.
But very excited to meet like minded people who know the grind of being an entrepreneur.
Can't wait!

Update: Speaker invites have started to trickle out. (I'm doing those 1 by 1, not a mass email)

If you receive one, please PAY for your discounted ticket ASAP so I can register you as a confirmed speaker. I will create a separate thread for confirmed speakers.

Also someone asked if they can buy 2 tickets, one for themselves and one for the wife. Answer: Yes.

Also, tickets will go on sale next week.

Still a long ways off but I can't wait! Carpooling with my dad, he's going to visit a college buddy while I'm down there, a childhood friend who lives in Arizona is also very interested!

That sounds like fun! I love road trips with my kids.

I'd love to attend again this year =)

I like the train of thought on directory/name tag idea.

Also, I'm not that tall am I?

Ya dude. You’re really freaking tall.
